Chapter 26 - Digging The Depth Of Depravity

Fortunately, there weren't many groundbreaking consequences after the psycast shenanigan-went-wrong that happened this morning.

Bluebell just went straight to napping right after she was put out from her berserk state.

Nagan didn't suffer many wounds except that his clothing was disintegrated into nothing like usual. Owen even arrived at the scene to ensure that nothing would go wrong further, while also repairing her husband's clothing before going back to the homeworld through her own starry portal to oversee the kingdom's progress.

"I see, so that's what Primal Wrath is." Karasaki nodded. "Please let me partake in the training to achieve it, Patriarch."

"Didn't you hear what the Patriarch said?" Hopscotch gave Karasaki the usual half-lidded side eye. "The Primal Wrath is not something that we can utilize yet, hence why Patriarch is trying to impart psycasting into our kingdom, as the Primal Wrath is too unstable for any of us to make use of. Which is better if none of us are using it as of now, since awakening it seems to be harder than expected."

There was a moment after {Primal Wrath} awakening of Bluebell that Immortal Dragon Overlord and Hoppington attempted to trigger them.

Many attempts such as Imagining the worst possible incident happening to them alongside many other scenarios to evoke their emotion of anger were proved to be fruitless. Hoppington even tried to dig further into the memory tree about the dark side of humanity in the effort that she was able to evoke the {Primal Wrath}.

Yet so far, none seemed to be successful. Even until now, Hoppington seemed to be experimenting with the method to awaken the {Primal Wrath}. She even resorted to self harm at some point, carefully supervised by the Queen to gather all of the data related to the awakening.

Because of it, Nagan prompted Hoppington to come to him once a day to report her findings, while also becoming her advisor and therapist as she seemed to be determined to dig every bits of humanity's bad blood to uncover the secret of the {Primal Wrath}

"Yet despite all of Hoppington's effort, it's Bluebell who awakened her Primal Wrath out of everyone," Immortal Dragon Overlord sighed.

"For Hoppington to do all of that behind our back…" Hopscotch tightened her clutch. Was it the anger redirected to Hoppington to hide all of this that appeared on her gritted teeth, or was it the frustration after the realization that she didn't know this whole experiment existed.

"The research is not for naught, however," Nagan said, as she caressed the Bluebell that was sleeping on his lap. "Hoppington still hasn't acquired a full awakening, but she already had some bits of the 'Primal Field', is what I call it. But as Hopscotch said, we shouldn't be using this power in its current stage."

"Is it really possible to harness this Primal Wrath?" Immortal Dragon Overlord gestured her hand.

"Well, you see. There is a saying that we humans preach when we see something impossible to overcome," Nagan said with a grin. "Humans need fantasy to be human, to be the place where the fallen angels meet the rising ape. We need to believe in things that aren't true. Or how else can they become?"

"Hoppington have arrived, Patriarch." On the messy outer skirt of the outpost, Hoppington announced her arrival with a playful salute and her usual calm and dignified expression. "Is there something you want me to do?"

"Show them the progress of your hard work."

Hoppington nodded. She then began to direct her open palm towards the sitting crowds. All of them could be seen startled, cautiously observing from a slightly farther distance.

"I know what that primal thing can achieve," Karasaki wryly commented. "Only when the solstice arrives shall you be allowed to dare me to get closer to that thing!"

"Mmm?" Wondered what happened for them to be this wary, considering that Hoppington was still within the homeworld when the whole escapade happened. "Boo!" She suddenly shouted, as she pushed her hand in their direction.

""HIIIKH!!""

Nagan could do nothing but laugh.

Hoppington then noticed Blueball who was laid unconsciously, albeit comfily, on the Patriarch's lap. It wasn't hard for her to piece the puzzle on what had just been going on.

"Well, do know that I'm not at the level where I can contort reality yet." Hoppington smiled with furrowed eyebrows. "There won't be any laser beam nor hurricane after I'm done with my bits."

Hoppington then began concentrating her mind towards the surface of her palm. For this case, she used every bit of humanity history that she abhorred.

Succulent whisper of contorting condolences, enigmatic calamity of underground dystopia for the shelved and the loss. Covered by crumbling white, reigniting the story within the story of the ashes and the glory that the false prophets carried.

Mark of tainting red began to appear on Hoppington's palm. They were faint but less chaotic, forming a cute symbol of rabbit as the center with reddening veins crawling to the tips of her fingers.

At one point, it became a blooming flower, until finally it subsidized before it could even do anything.

"Woaaah."

"That is certainly a great sight to see."

"... It can be beautiful too."

"I-I'm glad that you didn't just shoot a laser beam at us!"

"The output is still far from what Bluebell can exert." Hoppington then retracted her arm, swaying it up and down as if she was cleaning it out from her palm. "It is more stable than Bluebell's and Patriarch's, however. Which is something we want to do to further improve the working power of our kingdom."

"Still, I'm hoping that you won't take any drastic measures," Nagan said with a hint of sadness in his words. "No matter how long it takes, never cut corners to a potential cliff. The wellbeing of each of you is more important."

"Of course," Hoppington gently nodded with closed eyes. "There won't be any meaningful progress made otherwise."

The four usalians were then tasked to continue practicing their psycast everyday. The length didn't matter, as consistency was more prioritized to ensure that the psycast field would only grow faster everyday.

As for the plan for the rest of the day aside from the usual, Nagan and Owen planned to give Earth a short visit.
