Chapter 110 - Chapter 109: Well Business(Heh, get it?)

"Pharaoh, I'm sorry, I-I didn't know it meant that I thought it was just a normal curse word; please forgive me." Said Jean apologetically as she kneeled before Pharaoh, who was lying on the ground holding his stomach while laughing to his heart's content.

"Hahahaha, I-I can't, Jean, hahahaha, i-it's too much hahaha!" Said Pharaoh in between his laughter as he glanced at Jean, only to laugh even harder as the memory from just a few minutes ago replayed in his mind, though Jean misinterpreted his word.

"P-Please? I-I didn't know the N-word has such a history; Professor's school mainly teaches us about the history of mutants, and I've got Mr. Howlett as my teacher. Please, Pharaoh, we're friends; you can forgive just this once, right? I promise never to say it again." Stated Jean earnestly as she pleaded to Pharaoh while lightly shaking him, prompting him to finally stop laughing and look at her.

"I-It's too funny, Jean; hearing you say nigga, it was amazing, I-I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my laugh. Oh my god, that's great, hehehe, hahahaha!" Replied Pharaoh as he composed himself a little, wiping the tears streaming down his cheeks from how hard he was laughing while looking at Jean, only to descend back into laughter.

"W-Well, on the bright side, at least Tut isn't upset or offended by what you said, Jean. But you need to have a talk with your history teacher, Mr. Howlett; I know you're at a mutant school, but he should've at least taught you guys about major events in our history, such as where and how the N-word was created since it's a major part of our history." Remarked Peter awkwardly with a wry smile as he stood beside Jean and rested his hand on her shoulder, prompting her to look up at him.

"Eh, Mr. Howlett does teach us about major events in America's history; it's just that I usually ignore him when he does so since I'm more interested in the history of Mutants." Said Jean lightly with an awkward expression as she coughed to hide her ever-present shame, causing both Peter and Gwen to give her blank looks.

"So, then, this whole thing is your fault?" Asked Gwen dryly as she stared at Jean, who nodded after much hesitation, prompting both Peter and Gwen to grab their faces and sigh.

"Haa, can we just get back to why we've come here, please?" Asked Peter with a sigh as he shook his head and approached the stone wall that was behind them.

Although I wanted to continue laughing when I heard Pete, I finally remembered what we were doing all the way out here, and while inwardly sighing, I stopped laughing and composed myself once more, which wasn't easy whenever I looked at Jean.

'Oh my goodness, I don't even care if I die now; that was so amazing, I'd happily embrace death.' Thought Tut with a joyful expression as he opened his eyes and stared at the sky while using his shirt to wipe his tears before standing back up.

"So, umm, you're not angry with me, Tut?" Asked Jean as she copied Tut and stood up while awkwardly looking at him, who started chuckling once more.

"Hehe, n-no, I'm not mad; in fact, I'm hardly bothered by what you said at all, Jean; if anything, I want to hear you say it again with such enthusiasm." Replied Tut lightly as he dusted his clothes before looking at Jean and wrapping his arm around her shoulder, which was a little funny given he was exactly one foot taller than her.

Wrapping my arm around Jean's shoulder to ensure she knew I truly wasn't bothered by what she said, we neared the well and peeked back over it, only for my joyful mood to slowly vanish as I remembered what Pete had asked of us.

"If anything, Pete, you should be the one who goes down there and searches for her body; you're the one who got us in this fucking predicament with your genius idea to watch the tape." Remarked Tut with a frown, his words prompting Jean and Gwen to glare at him alongside Tut.

"Yeah, I agree with Tut; you're the one who persuaded Jean and I; we were originally fine with just destroying it, but you wanted to watch the VHS, and now look at us." Said Gwen with a frown as she folded her arms and eyed Peter, who was getting nervous from the intense gazes he was receiving.

"Yeah, Pete, you're the root cause for all of this, so you go down there first." Commented Jean lightly, enjoying the intimacy Tut and she was experiencing while she looked at Peter, who started to float into the air until he was hovering right about the well.

"W-Wait, guys, we can talk about this, right? C'mon, we shouldn't send me; what if her corpse tries to kill me? You know how powerless normal humans are in the face of supernatural entities; if anything, either Jean or Pharaoh should come with me, at least, so I don't instantly die." Remarked Pete with a nervous and terrified expression as he looked at the three while hovering above the entrance to the well, the murky water down there looking rather horrifying.

"You're right; I agree with you, Pete; that's why, after discussing things, Gwen and I decided to send Jean with you." Said Tut with a nod and a thoughtful expression as he rubbed his chin before patting Jean's arm, causing her to freeze and glare at him.

"Fuck no, Tut! Are you secretly mad at me for what I said? I already apologized, and you said you didn't care!" Remarked Jean in slight anger as she pushed off Tut, who defensively raised his arms.

"I'm not, Jean; I'll even let you read my mind if you want. However, according to Pete's logic, either you or I should go with him, and I know for a fact the only way I'm entering that well is if it's my corpse so that only leaves one option." Stated Tut, shaking his head as he pointed at Peter while Gwen stood beside him and nodded in agreement.

"I agree with Pharaoh; he's got a sound argument, and I see no flaw with his plan." Commented Gwen seriously as she placed her hands on her hips and nodded, causing Jean to glare at her aggressively.

"Shut up, Gwen! Why should I be the one to go, though? I'm a girl, and what man sends a girl to do such a dangerous task?" Questioned Jean while her anger swiftly morphed into a terrified expression as she tried to plead at Tut's manhood, which failed miserably.

"Okay, and? You're a mutant, Jean, and speaking of girls, isn't Storm the strongest mutant at the Professor's school, considering she's an Omega just like you?" Remarked Tut with a raised eyebrow, silencing Jean, who tried to argue back, only to angrily stomp her foot on the ground while her bright red hair took to the sky.

"Hmph, fine! But if we end up dying, I better see you two in five days!" Yelled Jean furiously as she pointed at Tut and Gwen before floating into the air beside Peter, who was suddenly dropped into the well while Jean safely lowered herself.

"Hehe, teamwork makes the dream." Said Tut and Gwen simultaneously as the two high-fived each other while grinning before suddenly running to the well when they heard a splash.

Leaning over the edge of the well, we saw Peter emerge from the murky water, gasping for breath, while Jean slowly descended into it right next to him as they began searching.

"Tell us when you find something!" Yelled Gwen, though all she got was a blank glance from Peter and a glare from Jean, prompting her to huddle behind Tut in slight fear.

After a minute or so of searching, I saw Pete's expression light up as he lifted his arms out of the water, only to see he was holding the arm of a skeleton, and from what I could smell from it, it wasn't was a fake either, it smelled terrible.

"Well, I-I think I found what we've been looking for." Remarked Peter with an unsightly expression as he pulled the skeleton's arms, causing the entire skeleton of a young girl to emerge from the murky water.

"Ugh, I-I think I'm going to be sick." Muttered Jean with a disgusted expression as she covered her mouth while looking at the corpse, which was wearing a damaged white gown.

"Well, don't stay down there; bring it up!" Said Tut, his words prompting Jean to raise her hand as Peter and the corpse was lifted into the air before the two finally exited from the well.

"Ew, it stinks, and so do you two." Said Gwen as she plugged her nose while glancing at Peter and Jean, who were both wet from the murky water

"I'll make you stink too!" Yelled Jean as she ground her teeth and lunged at Gwen, who was too surprised, before hugging her.

"Eeek!! GET OFF ME JEAN!" Yelled Gwen in disgust while trying to push Jean off, though it was too late; she already had a firm hold on her.

While Jean was contaminating Gwen, I distanced myself from them and approached Peter, who was currently inspecting the skeleton, which I presume was that of the little girl.

"So, discovered anything?" Asked Tut curiously as he squatted down and eyed the little girl's skeleton.
