Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Waiting 6 Years for a Date

"Hmph, thanks, Tut." Said Jean, looking away and pouting, causing Pharaoh to chuckle while standing up.

"Hehe, you're welcome; though I didn't really provide any help, you did all the work; I merely stayed by your side to protect you like a knight in shining armor." Replied Tut with a grin as he grabbed Jean's hand and yanked her onto her feet, causing her to huff once more amidst her smiling face.

"But you did help; without you, I wouldn't have been able to control my powers, and I would've been forced to hear those voices." Remarked Jean passionately while looking at Pharaoh in gratitude, oblivious to the six other people.

"Oh please, you're definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, but you're also not a complete idiot either; after enough time, I'm sure you would've figured it out. Though, it probably would've taken a few years." Said Tut with a smirk, causing Jean to glare at him before playfully hitting him on the chest, a sight that caused the six to smile slightly.

"Hmph, you're such a bully, Tut, always calling me stupid, saying Peter is a nerd, and calling Gwen boring." Stated Jean with a pout as she huffed in annoyance, closed her eyes, folded her arms, and turned her back to him.

"Heh, being able to make fun of friends is a sign that we have a strong friendship because despite calling each of you three names, we're still friends, no?" Asked Tut lightly as he approached Jean from behind before leaning down and wrapping her arm around his shoulder.

"Hmm, I guess you're right; Gwen also calls you names like brute and meathead." Said Jean softly while nodding, her words causing a few spectators to chuckle quietly, earning a glare from Pharaoh.

"Yeah, see, besides, It's not like I'm wrong; Peter is a nerd, Gwen is boring, and you're the stupidest one among the four of us." Added Tut with a smile, causing Jean to look down at him before squeezing her arm and putting Tut into a chokehold.

"Damn, you Tut; I'm not stupid!" Yelled Jean angrily as she squeezed Tut's neck as hard as she could, though he didn't even feel it.

"I yield, I yield." Said Tut as he patted Jean's back, prompting her to release her chokehold on Tut, who fell to the ground in defeat.

"Heh, it seems becoming a telepathic mutant made you aggressive; what happened to the sweet and bubbly Jean I used to know?" Remarked Tut with a smirk as he looked up at Jean, who stood over him while displaying a triumphant smirk, though his words confused her.

"Hmm, telepathic mutant?" Asked Jean in confusion as she looked down at Tut, who pointed to his left, prompting Jean to look left, only to notice six people staring at her and Tut.

"Hello, Jean, we ar-" Said Professor X with a friendly smile, though he couldn't finish his introduction as Jean started yelling.

"EEK a monster! Get away from us!" Yelled Jean in fear when she noticed Beast, her words causing a powerful psychic wave to erupt from her as she subconsciously launched it toward Beast.

Although I couldn't sense when she used her telekinesis, I could see how it pushed the air wherever it moved, which allowed me to see it was heading right toward Beast. Swiftly standing up from underneath Jean, I appeared in front of Beat and crossed my arms, bracing myself for impact. When I felt Jean's power hit me, it felt like how I imagined getting hit with a bullet train would feel, though even so, I was fine and didn't even budge.

'God damn, she might've accidentally killed Beast; that would've been bad if she wanted to enroll in Professor X's school.' Thought Tut while releasing a sigh of relief and wiping imaginary sweat.

"Jean, calm down; he isn't a monster; well, maybe he is, I don't know, but just stay calm, alright." Stated Tut quickly as he ran forward, placing his hand atop Jean's shoulder, his words significantly alleviating her fear.

"Eh, he's not a monster?" Asked Jean hesitantly as she calmed down and looked at Beast, who smiled harmlessly.

"No, I am not young Jean; I go by the name of Beast, though my real name is Hank McCoy." Replied Beast in a sophisticated tone while slightly bowing, causing Jean to show an apologetic expression.

"Ah, s-sorry, Mr. McCoy, your sudden appearance frightened me." Said Jean shyly while copying him and slightly bowing herself, causing Beast to chuckle in amusement.

"Haha, all is fine, young Jean." Said Beast with a nod before Professor X cleared his throat, causing Jean to shift her attention to him.

"Thank you, Pharaoh, for protecting Beast. I do not know if he would've survived that, and I do not wish to ever find out." Said Professor X with a grateful expression, his words slightly confusing everyone else as he was the only one who could sense what Jean had subconsciously done.

"Yeah, it's fine; I hardly felt a thing; I just didn't need Jean to have a bad track record if she happens to enroll in your school. I don't need her being ostracized for killing an X-men accidentally." Replied Pharaoh with a nod, his words only furthering everyone's confusion as they constantly shifted between Pharaoh and Professor, the only two who knew what had happened.

"So, um, am I missing something? How did Beast almost die?" Asked Bobby in confusion as he looked at Beast, who was also looking at himself.

"I'll tell you about it later, Bobby; I imagine we don't have much time until my old friend arrives, and before then, I'd like to speak with Jean." Remarked Professor X lightly before looking at Tut, waiting for his input.

"Five, no, about four and a half minutes until they arrive, so you better hurry up. Also, Jean, the Professor is also a telepath like you, so be careful." Replied Tut as he glanced at Professor before looking at Jean, who was still confused about what was happening.

"What, don't give me that look; just cause you all have been nice doesn't mean I trust you guys." Said Tut defensively when he noticed the five giving him weird looks.

"Fair enough." Said Colossus while Wolverine and Beast nodded in agreement.

"Umm, what's happening, Tut? Who are these people?" Questioned Jean nervously as she scooted closer to Tut, feeling uncomfortable with how the six looked at her.

"Don't really know, Mutants who call themselves X-Men; I'm pretty sure he's going to tell you more about them and about yourself." Said Tut as he shrugged his shoulders and pointed at Professor before backing away, giving the two more space.

"If you need me, I'll be right here, Jean; don't do anything weird, old man." Added Tut with a smile as he walked away before eyeing Professor X, who merely shook his head and started speaking with Jean.

With Professor X talking to Jean and explaining her mutant abilities and whatnot, I stood close to the other five X-Men as they conversed amongst themselves, but I could tell they were preparing themselves to fight against Magneto and his gang. Looking at Storm, I noticed she didn't have a ring on her finger, which caused me to smile, and although I was a kid, I wasn't about to miss the opportunity to shoot my shot.

'You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.' Thought Pharaoh with a smirk as he brought out a brush from his pocket and brushed his hair before approaching Storm.

"So your name's Storm; what I got to do get a number from a fine woman like you?" Asked Pharaoh with a confident smile as he stood before Storm, who just looked at him before sighing.

"I'm flattered by your advances, Tut, but I'm not looking for a romantic relationship; besides, even if I were, you're a child." Said Storm softly in her African accent as her white eyes looked at Pharaoh, who nodded in understanding, though he wasn't going to give up that easily.

"Shit, age is just a number, and who said it had to be a romantic relationship? I was thinking we just start off as friends first; then, we can see where it goes. So, what have I got to do to get your number?" Asked Pharaoh with a smile, displaying what people like to call the sexy light-skin face, causing Storm to grab the bridge of her nose and sigh.

"Listen, Pharaoh, I'm not giving you my number, so you can stop wasting your time by flirting with me. Besides, you've got Jean; you and her seem very close." Replied Storm as she rested her hand on Pahraoh's shoulder, causing him to click his tongue in defeat.

"Haa, it was worth a try, though I'm not interested in Jean like that; she's a friend, a Sister almost. I'm more interested in women like you, especially ones with a sexy accent." Said Pharaoh with a sigh of defeat as he looked at Jean sitting on the bench, listening to Professor X, before looking back at Storm with a sly smirk.

"Haa, if you're still interested in me, Tut, come ask me on a date when you become an adult. I'll agree to it then, so long as I haven't found myself a partner." Remarked Storm with one final sigh before finally caving at his incessant flirting, causing Pharaoh to clench his fist triumphantly.

"Heh, you better stay single then, Storm, because the day I turn 18, I'm knocking on your door." Declared Pharaoh with a grin, causing Storm to shake her head while Bobby, who was eavesdropping, gave him a thumbs up.

Would just like to put this out there, but I might've made the mutants, at least this interaction with them, look a bit too weak; not gonna lie; when writing this, I didn't know exactly how strong they should be. However! Fear not, while they will stay this way for a little bit, I've come up with an idea to strengthen the mutants without suddenly making them stronger out of nowhere, though it won't happen for some time, so until then, just relax and await the awakening of En Sabah Nur. (Heh, if you know, you know.)
