Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Mid-Town High

"Sara. Pharaoh." Said Tut and Sara, respectively, while they eyed each other.

"Eh, don't tell me you two are still mad? It's been almost three months." Remarked Jean with a slight pout as she glanced between her sister and friend.

"Hmph, she ruined my summer break!" Stated Pharaoh with a frown as he huffed and looked away, while Sara clicked her tongue in annoyance.

"You made me pee on myself! Do you know how shameful that is for a 16-year-old to do!?" Exclaimed Sara with a twitching expression as she pointed at Tut, who merely scoffed.

"Not my fault you didn't have a stronger bladder; train it next time." Remarked Pharaoh as he glanced at Sara before looking away, causing her to take big breaths to calm herself.

"It's also not my fault that you didn't tell your parents, is it?" Replied Sara with a sight grin while Tut glared at her, though before their argument spiraled out of control, Jean interrupted.

"Alright, alright; I get it. You two are mad at each other, but you're both acting like little children; you two apologize to each other, shake hands, and become friends again." Declared Jean as he glanced between Sara and Pharaoh before grabbing both of their hands and pulling them closer.

Despite my annoyance with Sara, I let Jean pull me closer, causing Sara and I to stand a foot apart, though I was forced to look up at her as she was taller than me. Looking into her eyes, I could also tell she was very annoyed with me, though we stayed composed, neither of us wanting to make Jean angry.

"Now, apologize to each other; I don't want my sister and first-ever friend to stay mad at each other." Added Jean as she folded her arms and watched over the two of them like a child, which was funny since she was younger than both of them.

Clicking my tongue in annoyance, I folded my arms and looked away, though, after a few seconds, I grumbled to myself before eventually sighing, eyeing Sara.

"I'm sorry for making you piss yourself like a baby." Said Tut as he outstretched his hand toward Sara while her eyes constantly twitched.

"Haa, and I'm sorry for accidentally exposing the fact that you skipped school for the day." Said Sara with a sigh as he reached forward and grabbed Tut's hand, prompting the two to shake hands.

I hadn't actually skipped school; I doubt my parents would even be that mad as I'm pretty confident I'm the smartest one in school, with Gwen and Pete being like right behind me. Though I came up with a believable lie as to why I was punished for the entire summer break, and while it might've been a little far-fetched, Gwen the freaking detective didn't give me a chance to think about it.

"See, was that so hard to do? Now let's head to the bus stop; if we miss the bus, we'll be late and get scolded by our parents." Remarked Jean with a smile as she squeezed between Sara and Tut, walking down the street toward their bus stop.

"Otherway Jean." Commented Sara with a shake of her head, causing Jean to smile cheekily before turning around.

"Heh, good thing we made up now; I was for sure about to go to school to spread the rumor that Sara peed on herself." Stated Tut with a grin as he and Sara walked side-by-side while following Jean, who skipped along the sidewalk.

"Tch, you're one evil child; was making me pee not enough?" Asked Sara with a slight frown as she hit Tut, not even bothering to control her strength since she knew of his secret.

"Oh please, I would've much rather peed on myself than lose nearly three months of my life that I'm never getting back; besides, it's also not like you just peed on yourself out of nowhere. You've got a viable excuse, so it's not that embarrassing, so long as you don't say it was because of a 12-year-old." Replied Tut while dodging Sara's fist, not for him but for her; otherwise, she might end up breaking a finger from punching his steel-like skin.

"Eh, I guess when you put it like that, I did get off much lighter than you, but I was also punished heavily by my parents when I told them everything about that incident. Not to mention, during the first week when I was locked in my room and undergoing rehabilitation, it might've been even worse than what you experienced." Remarked Sara lightly with a nod before shivering in both fear and shame from her memories.

"I can't be the judge on that; I've never done drugs, and even if I did do some, I doubt they'd affect me. Though I'm glad you're back to normal, I don't need a friend turning to the dark side." Stated Tut with a slight smile as he patted Sara's back, causing her to stumble forward.

"Control your strength, would you? Also, why do you make it seem like I'm about to pull out a red lightsaber or something?" Questioned Sara as she winced in pain while rubbing her back before glancing at Tut, who shrugged his shoulders.

"Who knows? I may be able to hear all of New York and see the entirety of the Electromagnetic spectrum, but I'm not omniscient; for all I know, you could be the female version of Darth Vader." Remarked Tut while waving his hands in the air, only for Sara to smirk as she impersonated Darth Vader's voice.

"Pharaoh, I am your Mother!" Said Sara in a deep, slightly muffled voice while glaring at Pharaoh before the two burst into laughter.

"Haha, you freaking nerd." Commented Pharaoh while laughing as he lightly pushed Sara away.

"Haha, you understood the reference, so you're also a nerd, Tut." Replied Sara, nearly colliding with Jean, who was standing at the corner of the sidewalk while weirdly glancing at them.

"What's up with you two? Why're you two laughing so hard?" Questioned Jean curiously as she looked at the two, seemingly wanting to partake in the laughter.

"Hehe, it's nothing; it's just your sister being stupid like usual." Replied Tut as he leaned against the stop sign while regaining his composure, causing Jean to pout, but she didn't pursue the topic.

"It's already 7:00, yet there is still no bus?" Muttered Jean with a frown as she looked at Tut's watch before looking down the street.

"It'll be here in a minute; probably just got stuck in some traffic or something." Remarked Tut as he glanced at Jean, though he could hear the bus's engine slowly approaching them.

Just as I anticipated, after about a minute's wait, the bus appeared in our vision down the street; once it arrived, the bus driver did his thing and opened the doors, prompting Jean to hop in first, followed by Sara and then finally me.

'Urgh, this place stinks.' Thought Tut with a frown as he greeted the bus driver before walking down the aisles, only to see several heads sticking up behind the seats.

"Stacy, how's it going?" Asked Sara with a smile as she sat down next to an introverted girl with glasses scribbling in her books.

"E-Everything's going fine; what about you, Sara?" Asked Stacy with a slight smile as she pushed her glasses onto her nose and looked up at Sara.

Seeing Sara hanging out with what I'd call a bonafide nerd, I lightly smiled as it was a vast improvement from her former friends, who were actually the main reason why Sara was even introduced to drugs in the first place. Waving at Stacy as I've seen her a few times, I walked down the aisle, though while doing so, some older kid stuck his leg out and smirked; seeing that, I just continued to walk, causing the kid's leg to be bent against his own seat.

"Ow, ow ow ow!" Yelled the kid in pain as he quickly retracted his leg and grabbed his knee in pain.

Ignoring the kid whose leg I nearly broke, I continued walking until I found Jean sitting alone.

"Hmm, what's wrong with you, Jean?" Asked Tut as he sat down next to Jean, prompting the bus to start driving again.

"I didn't see either Pete or Gwen." Replied Jean with a frown, only for Tut to shake his head and lightly smack her.

"They live decently far away; they're probably taking a different bus." Remarked Tut, causing Jean's eyes to widen slightly.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that." Muttered Jean while Tut just laughed, causing her to blush slightly in embarrassment.

"Heh, you're really living up to the title of being the stupidest one, Jean." Said Tut with a grin, causing Jean to huff in annoyance as she lightly hit him.

The bus trip was about as one would expect; we weren't the first or last stop, so after a couple more stops, with the bus being mostly full of kids, we started heading toward the school.

Looking out the window, I glanced at the name of the school engraved on a stone structure right at its entrance.

"Mid-Town High; what a lame ass name." Muttered Tut with a raised eyebrow.

Once the bus stopped, everyone stood up and entered the aisle, while I just waited for a few moments as people exited the bus until I got up alongside with Jean following right behind me.

"Ah, see ya later, my dawg." Said Tut to the bus driver as he exited the bus while Jean gave her normal greeting.
