One day.
"Mr. He, you mean... That I still have Saint Qi?" Feng Qian said, looking somewhat doubtful.
He Qi looked calm and composed as he smiled.
He had recently found that the Saint Qi existed in Feng Qian's body. Though it was unknown why Feng Han was rejected by Saint Qi then. Usually when Saint Qi rejected the body, it would immediately disperse from the body of the mother. But here it was, dormant inside Feng Qian.
"Yes. I cultivate a technique which is sensitive to Saint Qi." He Qi said.
"... Did you already know when we first met? Is that why you helped us?" Feng Qian questioned him with coldness in her eyes.
Even though she could not defeat the man in front of him, she would still have a chance to let Feng Han escape but only pity was that she might not be able to escape then.
"No. Initially I just helped as I sensed the presence of Saint Qi. But I couldn't determine who it was. So I went with the practical answer and concluded the kid must have it. But unexpectedly it was you who had it." He Qi said with interest.
Even he couldn't believe he was witnessing such an event.
Saint Qi appears inside the mother and chooses the new body. If someone interferes, it rejects the body it had decided and immediately disperses leaving the instigator empty-handed.
But this time it did not disperse. Instead, it remained inside the body of the mother. It was worth investigating why it did reject the body? Or did it actually not?
"How are you so sure?" Feng Qian frowned.
Today was really something else.
First, she was told her son was a Half-Saint. Then she was told that all along she possessed the Saint Qi which had made her son unable to cultivate.
If it were true, she would not be able to sleep any longer. She might even directly go mad.
"Let's say. I have confirmed it. I have repeatedly tested any signs in Feng Han and he also possesses the cursed dao body. So the only person who could have it must be you. I mean, if I had it, why would I ask you?"
"So can Feng Han acquire this Saint Qi or will I become a Saint?" She asked tentatively.
"I don't know." He shook his head.
"This is a case I have never heard of or found in any texts. I can't be sure what will happen. Have you found anything off about yourself?" He inquired.
"No. I feel completely fine like I always have been." She said.
"Strange. Let's just wait and see. Maybe when Feng Han returns we can see if Saint Qi can be transferred..." He speculated.
"Are you sure he will be safe?" She asked worriedly.
"He will be transferred out of it if he is about to die. Then we can save him with the healing ability of the tree. And there is nothing there which can kill him in one strike." He said.
"Do you think he will return soon?"
"Can't be said. Time flows differently there."
The conversation continued.
Meanwhile in the realm filled with darkness.
Feng Han appeared. He looked alert as he carefully took steps. He couldn't see anything clearly due to insufficient light but heard countless noises. He decided to avoid them.
He continued walking without any hunger and thrust. It was very strange at first but he gradually got used to it.
He saw a light appear at the path ahead. His eyes lit up as he quickened his pace. He had not seen light for a long time. Maybe it was hours or days or weeks. But nothing could be said.
As appeared at the source of light he saw a giant waterfall. The waterfall shone with sparks as it illuminated the area. It was so bright that he couldn't stare at it. Even the shadows were afraid of getting close to it. Perhaps it was the reason he could walk safely towards it.
Desperate to escape and curious to check it, he stepped forth and disappeared in the waterfall.
Along with him, the shining waterfall disappeared and the darkness overflowed. The originally trembling shadows roared as they cheered and jumped in joy.
Since that human had entered, strangely this waterfall had appeared.
The light from the waterfall made them afraid as if they would be annihilated if they even got close to it.
So they maintained distance from that human and the waterfall.
That human was strange even if he appeared very weak.
Back at the residence of He Qi.
He Qi abruptly opened his eyes as he looked shocked.
I can't sense Feng Han anymore!
Where has this kid gone?
Could it be... He has died?
No. If it was I could still sense him. But now I can't even trace anything about him.
It's like... He disappeared!
What the heck did that kid encounter?
After being dumbfounded by the sudden turn of events, he promptly stood up from his meditation and went to the secret realm.
In an unknown realm.
Feng Han who was closing his eyes tightly appeared. After some time, he slowly opened his and peeked at the outside world from between his fingers.
Upon sensing that the dazzling light was gone he completely opened his eyes.
He looked around and was surprised.
There were trees and plants filled with many kinds of different creatures and insects, he had never seen before. The sky was bright and the mountain ranges expanded as far as the eye could see. In between clouds could be seen giving a paradise-like look.
The fresh and pleasant air is filled with the fragrance of flowers and trees. The galloping sounds of waves and crackling sounds of trees were accompanied by joyous singing of birds and insects. The animals, some were giant like mountains and some small like a kitten roamed the terrain as they let out joyful sounds.
The warm sunlight on his skin gave him warmth as if he was embraced by his mother.
Feng Han was intoxicated by the sensations he felt and couldn't recover.
Until a laugh sounded as a teasing voice said.
"Kid. You sure have quite the luck. First your soul traveled between universes without any harm and now you are born in a body chosen to become a Saint. But unfortunately you got the bad timing and made Saint Qi agitated resulting in your half-saint status. " A pleasant voice said as it unveiled all of Feng Han's secrets.
Feng Han was brought back to reality and was deeply shocked. He didn't expect his status of reincarnator being exposed before he could even start his journey.
Moreover from what the other party said, it seemed his golden finger was being a Saint? But because he had a bad timing he was rejected instead resulting in him becoming a Half-Saint? So that's where his cursed dao body came from.
Feng Han understood now. It meant he had removed his own golden finger?
"Kid. Hello? Are you listening?" The voice asked.
"Um Senior if I may, how should I address you?" Feng Han asked carefully.
"Let's say. Since you were supposed to be a Saint but became a half-saint... You can call me, Senior Saint." The voice said after some thought.
Feng Han was dumbfounded at this moment. He foolishly stared at the void as his mind went blank.
How...?
How did I encounter a Saint?
Wait a moment... Those Saints of the previous eras... No one knew where they were but they all thought they had died... If this Senior Saint in front of him is a Saint of a past era... Then wouldn't it mean other Saints also exist?
"Senior Saint, are you perhaps... The Saint of previous era?" Feng Han asked as his eyes gleamed with joy.
If it were true, he might be able to ask for their help with his curse.
By that time...
"No. I am not." The voice refused.
Feng Han was stunned for a moment just when the voice continued.
"I am a bit older than that."
"Older?... Are you perhaps of the ancient era?"
"A bit younger than that."
"Hmm. What's that era?"
"End of ancient era."
"Oh?"
Feng Han was surprised. Because as far as he knew there were no Saints in that era. Which was also the reason for its decline. So what's going on?
"Enough chit-chat. I called you here to correct the mistake you caused. Without a Saint, the era would basically enter chaos. Now let me quickly complete it as for what happens to you afterwards it's none of our business." The voice said lazily as a wind bellowed.
In the residence of He Qi.
He Qi had returned after inspecting the secret realm for days. But he couldn't find anything strange. From the shadows he found that there had been a strange waterfall and a weak human entered it, after which both the waterfall and the human disappeared.
Just as he was contemplating what that waterfall was he sensed an anomaly.
Suddenly a strange pillar of light erected from his wooden house.
"That location... It's where Lady Feng is!"
He Qi couldn't think anymore and rushed to the wooden house.
Before he could reach, a streak of red light dashed through the light pillar and went beyond the clouds.
His pupils constricted as he said while trembling.
"That's...That's S-Saint Qi!"
"Why is it leaving now? Moreover, what about Lady Feng?"
He Qi rushed into the wooden house and saw Feng Qian sleeping soundly.
Just as he reached her, the light pillar vanished and the strange phenomena throughout the world disappeared.
He couldn't believe it for a long time.
In the unknown realm.
A red streak of light appeared out of nowhere and rushed into the area between Feng Han's eyebrows.
He couldn't even react to what had happened and stood there in a daze as he felt that some kind of change was happening within him.
"Now that's done. Grow up and do your job well, Junior Saint." The voice said with nostalgia.
Before Feng Han could react, he was suddenly transported out of the unknown realm.
For a long time he couldn't react to what had happened. He couldn't even believe that his path to conquer the cultivation world through a strange path had been overturned under a second.
He didn't know how and when he reached his room. Or how He Qi and his mother had reacted to his sudden appearance. He only remembered that as soon as he reached his room he fell asleep.
Has destiny truly changed? Or is there something else in store?
