[3rd POV]
"Talia, hows the research into that pharmaceutical company going?" A voice belonging to Lois asked.
It had been roughly two months since Talia had ended up accepting a deal with Chrissy and Lois, becoming their newest reporter at the "Smallville Gazette" a small newspaper based out of...Smallville, with Kara joining them a week after she had joined, making their little team 4 strong.
During these two months, quite a few things had happened.
Talia had continued forging new blades, having made over 2,000 more blades in this time, and roughly 500 of them were created properly. None of the blades were particularly powerful or anything, but were all unique in one way or another. From having the ability to produce beams of fire, absorbing the blood of those struck, to even giving hallucinations upon hitting them. The amount of variety was quite large.
Naturally she had completed some quests from creating so many items, especially after she armored the rest of her familiars (including the rats).
[Hidden Quests Complete]
Bladesmith
Details - Successfully create 500 blades that are different than one another.
Reward - 15 Levels, title.
Mass Production [X]
Details - Create 50,000 pieces or armor for your familiars.
Rewards - 30 Levels.
With this, she got 45 new levels, a rather helpful title, and of course, a couple of new blacksmiths knowledge.
[Blademaster - A title only given to those who have mastered the creation of blades, or gotten to a level that is comparable to a master. All blades created by the user are now 2x stronger. This title can evolve further in the future]
[Blacksmith 2 - Totosai | Inuyasha]
[Blacksmith 3 - Welf Crozzo | Danmachi]
The knowledge additions had been pretty good on Totosai's part, as he was a true master of the craft, but Welf was...subpar at best, and didn't give her much in the knowledge department. She had used this knowledge to make some better swords, but nothing too much stronger. She had also begun to "hear" the blades around her, just as Totosai could. It was an...interesting thing, but she could hear the blades and the way they felt about her cleaning them, they were...happy?
Talia didn't really know what to say about her new ability, but you weren't going to find her complaining. Afterall, it helped in the creation of the blades in the first place, causing her productivity and rate of succession to massively increase. She was growing more and more connected to the art of blade creation, and she was enjoying every moment of it.
Besides her work in blacksmithing and forging new blades, Talia had continued to grow her farm, with more new plants being added in every few days, many of which were entirely magical in nature.
She had continued to enjoy life with the girls, going on dates to all sorts of planets, finding new local plants and materials with each new planet they traveled to. Alongside claiming more and more suns, claiming a another 25 within the two months.
Hearing what Lois had asked, Talia looked up "You mean NR Pharmaceuticals? Yeah I got some...info, it's on your desk" Talia said, as Lois nodded before walking over and picking it up.
As she read through it, her eyes hardened "You're sure this is accurate?"
"100%, I can sense lies Lois. And even not counting that, I had gathered all the necessary proof of what they've been doing" Talia replied, as Lois scowled.
"So not only are many of their products grossly overpriced, but they're also committing illegal tax fraud, AND experimenting on humans. Looks like this'll be reported not just to the public, but also the police" Lois said, frowning deeply as she put the small stack of paper down.
"That's like the 6th company you've found out were corrupt, Talia. You're on a serious role here, aren't you?" Chrissy said, as she grew more and more impressed with Talia's skill in the area.
"It wasn't just me, Chrissy. Kara helped to" Talia said, giving Kara a small smile as she looked up, hearing her name.
"Oh right, sorry Kara" Chrissy said, cringing as she realized she completely forgot that Kara had been helping (even more than Talia in certain areas).
"It's alright. I didn't help too much with that one anyways, I was just talking to the people more than anything" Kara replied, waving off her worry.
"Yeah but still, you've been helping like crazy with the paperwork, so it's wrong to just forget you like that" Chrissy said, causing Kara to smile slightly.
"It's fine Chrissy, really. I'm just happy that the bad guys are getting their due, even if it will take a little while" Kara said happy that the company would most certainly be getting in a lot of trouble once this was released.
Talia watched the interaction with a chuckle, before humming.
"What sort of company should I go after next? I was thinking of doing a food one, or maybe I go after something smaller? Like a secret cult or something?" Talia asked, causing Lois to look at her with a shrug.
"Honestly? Probably the cult, that sort of stuff always gets tons of people involved, and most of the time, is way more of a threat than anything else. Any cults you were interested in looking into?" Lois asked.
"A couple, but none concrete just yet. Finding one that causes direct harm to others is surprisingly not the easiest. As it seems that most cults are pretty good about that sort of thing" Talia said, somewhat surprised when she found this out. Although she did find that a cult was starting that was sort of worrying, one entirely based around Solaris and all her "Others" aka her clones. It was just starting, but already had over over 100 members and was rapidly growing. Definitely something she had to look into in the future.
"Well, when you find one, tell me. Reporting on that sort of stuff is always interesting and important" Lois said, causing Talia to nod, knowing that Lois wasn't fond of cults in the least, due to one that had caused some serious issues between her and her sister.
"Will do. Is there anything else you guys need, or are we free to go? I want to grab some lunch and get home" Talia asked, causing them to shake there head.
"Nope, if we find anything we'll make sure to tell you" Chrissy said, causing Talia to smile and nod, before getting to her feet alongside Kara, and waving to the two, before walking out of the building, and into the streets of Smallville.
"How are you liking reporting so far, love?" Talia asked Kara, who smiled.
"I like it a lot! Between this and the scientific work we've been doing, I'm not sure which one I enjoy more, but they're both fun! Not to mention important" Kara replied.
"Well you don't need to like one more than other, Kara. I love forging, farming, cooking, and the scientific stuff all at the same time, and I don't choose between them. Just as I enjoy reporting too" Talia said.
"Well...I guess you're right. Oh, and what cult do you plan on reporting on?" Kara asked, as they walked into the diner.
"Hmm, I was thinking of covering Inverse Society, a rather secretive cult that is...not very all there. The leader of it is sorta coocoo and wants to merge with a version of herself from an "Opposite" world of this one" Talia explained, causing Kara to raise an eyebrow.
"Opposite world?"
"I mean one where everyone's personality are more...Bizarre. Stuff like Clark being in the hero game for money and fame, Tal-Rho being a good loving brother, and stuff like that. And before you ask, no, none of us exist there, since we're not from this universe in the first place" Talia responded, causing Kara to nod slowly.
"That's...pretty interesting actually. So it's like an alternate dimension? But how in the world was it even created?"
"Yep, and I've got no idea. All I know is that you will not be going anywhere near there" Talia said, causing Kara to look at her in confusion, as they waited for the meal to finish so they can get home.
"Why? It sounds cool!"
"Kara, the sun of that Earth is a red one. And the Kryptonians of that realm get power from Red Suns, not Yellow. Just as kryptonite does not affect them, but X-Kryptonite does. Hell, normal kryptonite makes the Superman of that dimension stronger" Talia replied. At this, Kara looked at her in genuine surprise, before nodding slowly.
"That...okay, yeah that makes sense. But it still sounded like it'd be cool to go there, even if only for a little while" Kara said with a small pout, while Talia just chuckled as she grabbed the bag with their meal in it, thanking the waitress before walking out.
"If I find out how to get rid of your weakness to the red sun and kryptonite, then we can go, okay?" Talia asked.
Kara looked at her in surprise at the mention of getting rid of her weaknesses, before nodding slowly "Mmkay. Just don't go without taking pictures, if you decide to, okay?"
"Of course, I wouldn't travel somewhere without you, without getting some sort of pictures" Talia replied with a smile, before softly grasping Kara's hand in her own, and continued speaking.
"For now though, let's just get back home"

That's the end of the chapter!
Basically just a talking chapter and some private moments between Kara and Talia. Talia will be getting more of those with the other girls soon, starting with Hope.
Sorry about not uploading for this, I got a case of writers block, so I took a little break to refresh my mind a bit.
Anyways, have a good day!
