Jun paused, looking at the territory marker closer. That metalwork—could it be a coincidence? Could it be a coincidence that her sparrow was leading them towards this place? Or was it something else? Some sinister hand of Fate or of an unknown puppeteer…
"Is something wrong, Ara-san?" Kaneda asked.
Jun spun him. "I think we are close," was all she said.
The rangers reached an industrial district, where roads were covered in asphalt and concrete, and buildings were mostly ugly and gray boxes of factories. Yoshikazu's camouflage was almost useless here.
"Stop right there!" a voice called out from above, forcing the rangers to stop in their tracks. "Who are you, and what are you doing here?"
They were caught unawares in the middle of the alleyway, but there were no enemies in sight—not on the ground, at least. When the rangers looked up, they saw a man looking down on them from the roof of a two-floor-tall building.
