Shin ran so fast, he felt like flying—until the alleyway ended and he stepped into another crowd. All around him, demons turned toward him, protesting an interruption, trying to steal his jar, or just stopping him out of pure spite.
He made a graceful jump, landing right on a flat head of a tortoise-like demon and using it as a foothold to fly over the entire crowd. This put a slight obstacle between Shin and his pursuers, the angry shouts of which he could already hear behind him.
'I'm still not assaulted by projectiles, so they likely can't make any. Losers!' He grinned, but the exhilaration quickly went away when he chanced a glance back.
Ullin charged through the small crowd like it was a pile of cotton, and Them All was right behind him, slithering with unexpected speed for a pile of tentacles. They were getting close to Shin, and fast.
'Shit.'
