Four hours later, Shin was walking down an empty street, returning to the abandoned factory—now clean, and with his leg wound long healed—when a small black bird circled around him.
'That was quick.,' Shin thought, lifting his hand to accept the messenger.
It landed on his wrist, gripping tight with one claw, while the other held a rolled note.
Only an hour ago Shin sent a report to Three Pupils, explaining the entire situation. He didn't hide anything, including the information about the Horned King's spies, except for his personal reasons to kill Inaho, which weren't relevant, anyway. Now he got an answer.
The black bird bobbed its body impatiently while Shin took the message from its claws. As soon as it was free of that burden, it moved to Shin's shoulder and leaned forward, watching his actions.
"Kuro," Shin said, frowning in annoyance. "Don't read over my shoulder. Just wait around, maybe I will write a reply now."
