A procession of eight people was walking down the hall. Two humans walked in the front, lighting the way: one with a torchlight, and another with a magical flame hovering over his shoulder. Two more humans followed them, pushing forward the fifth human. That man was clearly a prisoner—his hands were tied up, and there was a cloth gag in his mouth. All humans wore nondescript dark clothing, with no cult symbols.
At the end of the procession were two demons, which carried a third, who was unconscious. Each of the three had 2 Verses.
All that was, to say the least, weird.
Shin watched the procession from an intersecting hallway. As soon as the group went past his corner, he followed behind it from a safe distance. The sounds of their footsteps masked his, and his smell would blend with their own—or at least, so Shin hoped.
Soon, the group entered a room where Shin couldn't follow them, unless he wanted to be discovered immediately.
