In the void, two figures were clearly visible, enjoying a show. And the woman on the left side said, "Do you think your fellows are going to sit back and watch their descendants face the threat of death? Ooh! sorry you are one of them, are you? "
The woman had a mocking tone in her voice, she obviously did not buy this at all. In her mind the group of old fellows probably thought, if someone could peform better, it was their descendants.
The woman on the other hand did not buy this at all. Those with strong backgrounds might be only stronger by about the half the rest of the population. Even though this was considered strong enough, it still lacked the ability to bring much benefit when it came to the monsters lurking in this part of the wilderness.
They too had the same chance of loosing their lives just like everyone else. The only advantage they had was considered useless in this environment.
The thing that could save someone from this environment was keen observational skills and high intelligence. But even so, this was not much of an assurance to survive. The only reason this two are considered even remotely reasons for one surviving in this environment, is level of strength of the monsters.
Indeed! The level of strength of the monsters in this part of the wilderness where weak. It is also the same reason, those in the trial, where able to survive for this long.
When the man in the void heard the woman's words he did not argue, this was because he was aware what she said was true.
But then again, the others also had already figured this would happen and could not be stoped, but those that where saved along the way to the main library, will have their benefits cut.
The action is after all the only thing that could be done, but to those on his level, that was considered nothing. They have access to a even better resources and chances, if the rewards are cut, it did not seem to bother them that much.
This was not the case for people like Li Jun, even though unaware of the benefits that came with participating in this trial, without their knowledge, he could gain something from it.
When it comes to people like Emily Wu, the benefits mentioned have little impact on her.
With her father's level of strength, she was able to have access to information as well resources beyond others imagination.
"So you guys thought of this already! But the price does not seem to be that harsh to them at all right? Well! It is indeed understalndable."
"This is obvious! Why do you keep speaking as though we where taking anything from you?" the man asked in a leisurely manner.
The woman did not answer right away, but looked in the distance and said, "My disciple is not bad! Good survival instincts. Look at those two, even though they had some means to save their lives, they have yet to regain their focus." She was obviously mentioning Juxue and Cai'er.
After the rest of them escaped, the monster se them as their target but the monster did not end well.
A sharp light rose from the body of Cai'er before defending against the attacks, and what followed next was a flash of light that cut off the monsters vitality.
It passed through it, and unlike what anyone would expect, it was not cut into two or any body oart separated. It just collapsed on the ground dead, obviously that attack was not on a physical level.
But even so, the two where slumped on the ground, still shaking due to fear.
It was also the same reason that the woman in the void brought them up.
Instead of leaving, they remained in place and started to sob.
Such a group of people was not worth her attention anymore.
Shifting her field of vision, she could observe the direction that Emily run off to, and discovered Emily had found herself in a predicament.
Still, she had no interest in doing anything, but rather just observed.
Yu Tu and the rest also each found their own problems along the way.
Li Jun ok the other hand had retreated from the direction he escaped from, since he detected danger.
But this did not mean the path he took next was safe. But his actions where more cautious this time.
"I should also take a disciple, perhaps I can enjoy some of the benefits you guys enjoy. " This feeling of having a disciple was obviously not something out of good intentions and the man standing beside this woman was speachless.
He was sure that the world had many shameless people but the one beside him was on another level.
She actually mentioned her purpose without even nay fancy words. More than just that, he could feel that she was trying to get even for some reason.
Sighing the man felt pity for Li Jun, and it was genuine. This kind of action made the woman furious.
"Changshen! What is with that look on your face! Do you think that this young lady is incapable of training a disciple of something?" She asked loudly, but the voice was only heard by the other party. It didnt spread as one would expect.
"Sister Luo! You can't blame me for saying this, but please let that young man go! He has not offended you in any way right?" This time, he added a bit of spite to his words.
It seemed like the words she had been saying all this while had finally made him retaliate.
To his disappointment though, she was not bothered by this intentional taunt, she just said, "Can't you see this little brat's life is tough enough. I think he suits my taste quite well. Even more decisive than you back then?" She did not want to let it go as such comtinued to throw emotional jabs at him.

Yu Tu on the other hand was more lucky than most, as he had a keen sense of intuition. He was using it to avoid danger a long the way, but it was not easy.
Off course he also had learned an important lesson this time, not to go seeking trouble with enemies whose strength he didn't know.
"This time little Li was able to save me with that shout, but that happened to the others?" He was just wondering, but did not plan on going back to see.
He rembered that Li Jun asked him to meet at the destination. With this drive in mind, he kept moving forward, and at the same time seemed to think of something.
"How come we where asked to reach the destination by ourselves. From the way little Li acted, he had already suspected something. I was to obsessed with the immortal path, I overlooked everything."
"Now that I think about it, even Emily had unnatural look on her face when the teacher started to mention we had to get off in groups of at least seven." He was not a fool.
He was just too obsessed with the chance he had gotten to start the immortal path.
Now that he had calmed down from danger, he was already able to think even more clearly.
"I should reach the destination first before I can ask little Li and Emily what was happening. I doubt that the two of them are clueless as they seemed." He muttered to himself as he moved further.
*****
Back to Li Jun, he sneezed twice, before looking around in confusion.
"Who is talking about me behind my back?" He thought of everyone and only Yu Tu was the prime suspect.
"Worthy of my best friend! He still rembered me after all! Wait! That guy has not even reached the destination!" He finally reacted.
It was indeed suspect if anyone had reached the destination at this moment.
When he looked around,he realize that the plants where also more dangerous too.
"I suddenly understand why the immortal path has almost everyone advocating to learn the methods of attack in a long distance. This wilderness is not a safe place, and anything can become life-threatening under the right conditions." He was just sighing, but never thought of taking the same path.
As much as the immortal path seeemed to be safe, he was aware that it was a pit and was unwilling to jump into it.
"It seems like moving around without the strength of the third realm or above in the wilderness is just seeking death. For my current state, is should not just be taken as a warning, rather a lesson too. In this world, without real strength, you are prone to be a pawn. This time it was just a small experiment and that might not be the case later. Considering none of us have the ability to say no, it is something I should take note of. Worst is we are not even informed of this at all. We are not even worthy of knowing this!" With this thought in mind his mind seemed to have changed slightly.
