Uncle Hao, who has just woken up from his past journey, turned his gaze towards the group of four young men standing before him. His attention was particularly drawn to the one wearing glasses, just like him.
"He said that he's good at computers and information gathering through the internet, but he still needs to have his own strength to protect his own life. I can't always protect them," Kai explained to Uncle Hao, while looking at Lin Wentian.
"Boss, who is this?" Lin Wentian asked curiously.
"Oh! This is your new Master, Long Hao. From now on, he will be guiding you," Kai replied, curling his lips upward.
Looking back and forth between Uncle Hao and Lin Wentian, they both have the aura of intelligence, especially since they both wear glasses.
"Ahem!" Uncle Hao cleared his throat lightly. "Kai, bear in mind that I haven't made a decision just yet."
"Huh? But I thought you wanted a disciple, and I happened to find one who's apparently a genius," Kai chimed, tilting his head to the side.
Uncle Hao sighed, feeling a sense of hopelessness. "You're slowly turning into your Master, always trying to push things onto others."
Reflecting on the situation, Uncle Hao continued, "Well, I suppose it's about time for me to take on a disciple as well. Even that Zhou brat already has one."
"W-what? Brat Zhou? Are you referring to my Master?" Xia Chen asked, taken aback.
"Yes, I'm much older than him. Our first meeting was when he was still in his teens and I'm in my thirties," Uncle Hao said.
"Hahaha! Your faces are priceless!" Kai chuckled, thoroughly enjoying their stunned expressions.
"Boss, aren't you surprised too? I mean, he really looks young. If we all just sat here quietly, he might even look younger than me, if it wasn't for his height," Xia Chen remarked, still struggling to wrap his head around the situation.
His companions nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Master, do tell us the truth. Are you some sort of immortal straight out of a movie?" Lin Wentian asked, his excitement getting the best of him. In his mind, Uncle Hao was the only one worthy of being his master, a true immortal.
Uncle Hao raised an eyebrow at the assumption. "You've already declared me your master? I haven't accepted you yet, you know," he responded, mildly surprised by Lin Wentian's straightforwardness.
"Yes! Only someone like Boss Kai deserves to be my master. And if he's from an immortal world, then the master must be from there too. Please, take me as your disciple. I want to be an immortal like you. I want to stay by the boss's side until the very end," Lin Wentian pleaded sincerely, bowing deeply in respect.
Uncle Hao remained silent, already well aware of the background of the two new members. Lin Wentian, the genius son of the Lin Family of Azure City, which is a branch of the Lin Family from Central. His father was an esteemed IT professor and his mother an IT engineer. At a young age, thanks to his parents' guidance, he had become a prodigy in the field. Creating a popular mobile game app under an anonymous account, Lin Wentian had achieved fame and recognition, even though no one knew his true identity.
The masses believed him to be an old man, oblivious to the fact that the brilliant mind behind the famous game was actually a first-year student hailing from Azure City.
"A gem that was acting like a rock. I need to polish it to perfection to help a real gem become even more dazzling. But what if they all became stars instead?" Uncle Hao muttered as he looked intently at Lin Wentian and glanced at the rest of the new crew.
The three of them have hidden talents in their own fields. One is brave, ignoring his fear to protect his loved ones and friends. Another is a shadow who supports the light, and the third is a brain who provides information and connects everything.
"Maybe the reason they haven't awakened two years ago is because they are waiting for him?" Uncle Hao thought as he looked at Kai, even he can't see the depth of Kai's abilities.
Xia Chen's training speed is also ridiculously faster than those who awakened two years ago. If they train diligently for a year, or at least a few months, they will be on par with them.
As he delved deeper into his thoughts, the blood that was sleeping for some action in his body started to boil as he got excited about their future. If he passed down his techniques to Lin Wentian, he would really be a great help for Kai and that person will be also satisfied.
"Well, even that brat already has a disciple. How dare he get ahead of me?" Uncle Hao muttered.
"Then?" Lin Wentian asked nervously.
Without any hesitation, Uncle Hao smiled and announced, "I'll take you as my disciple, Lin Wentian."
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Lin Wentian kowtowed three times and said, "Master! Thank you for accepting me. I promise I won't disappoint you!"
Chuckling, Uncle Hao lifted him up and reminded him, "Stand up. Don't go kowtowing to just anyone. I'm your teacher, not your parents."
Lin Wentian nodded vigorously, eager to begin his journey to immortality. "Master, when will you start teaching me?"
Uncle Hao chuckled once more, he didn't want to erase his thought about him being immortal, but instead cautioning him, "Becoming an immortal isn't as easy as flicking your hand, young one. For now, just stick by my side and learn."
As the new master and disciple exchanged happy banter, complex information seemed to flow effortlessly between them. It was evident that they were perfectly compatible. With Uncle Hao as his guide, Lin Wentian was sure to accomplish great things.
Kai couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. While the system had its benefits, having a real teacher to guide him was truly invaluable. There was something about the personal connection and guidance that made all the difference just like him and his Master Rick.
While they were happy about the outcome, there was one person who couldn't help but feel a pang of envy. "Lucky him," Jun Xie murmured, "He also got a master like Xia Chen."
Suddenly, Xia Chen let out a yelp as someone suddenly appeared behind his back. "Whoa! Damn brother! Don't suddenly appear out of nowhere and freak us out every damn time!" Xia Chen exclaimed, trying to regain his composure.
Kai couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Hahaha! Now you're experiencing what I experienced earlier," Kai said, still chuckling.
Xia Chen took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. "No Boss, we've been experiencing it almost every day. But even so, we're still not used to it," Xia Chen admitted with a sheepish grin.
"Uhh... but I've been standing behind you all this time. I didn't do anything. I'm innocent," Jun Xie said with a hint of dejection in his voice.
"Haha! You indeed also have a hidden talent. I have someone in mind who is perfect to be your teacher. Do you want it?" Uncle Hao asked, excitement evident in his voice.
Jun Xie's eyes lit up. "Really? Yes! Yes! I want it, I want it. I don't want to be left behind by them," Jun Xie replied eagerly, although his eyes still seemed a bit dull despite his excitement.
Uncle Hao nodded. He picked up his phone, dialed a certain number, and a surge of anticipation filled the air. Jun Xie clenched his fist, hoping that a great master like Uncle Hao or Mr. Zhou would take him as a disciple. The possibilities seemed endless, and the future looked brighter than ever.
