Hearing the guy, the hesitation in their hearts washes away, and their voices one after another echo on the second floor.
"Senior Brother! Our lives are already so miserable. We are not scared of whatever happens in the future."
"That's right, Senior Brother. We all know that our families will be implicated too sooner or later since they will eventually notice that we always go home beaten up. Before our parents make their move, we want to stand up and retaliate, not just waiting for our demise."
"We all know that this is all we can do for you for now. However, in the future, we will help you by using our bodies as your shield. We will not disappoint you."
"Senior Brother, we want to follow you."
Kai couldn't help but feel a mixture of pride and concern as he listened to the students' passionate pleas for unity. He understood their desperation to escape the constant bullying and restore some semblance of dignity to their lives.
He just stood there, feeling a mix of emotions. It was a feeling he hadn't experienced before. He had always been alone, but now he had lots of people who were willing to stand by his side. It was a strange and unfamiliar feeling.
He doesn't know what to say anymore after voicing out their feelings. He can also feel how sincere they are. Their feelings struggle and fight back on their shackles and miserable fate, just like him before he was awakened. He unconsciously wants to reach out to them. They are the members he wants to join his crew, people who want to change their own fate.
"Well, if you really want to follow me, then so be it. For now, return to your classrooms. You guys are being a nuisance to your seniors here," Kai said as he scratched his face upon seeing the crowd increase.
This is the first time in his life that something like this has happened. However, he has already decided to let them join the crew. Although they are weak now, there's a chance that he can still make them powerful with the help of the system.
All of the first-year students looked around and saw that all their seniors were looking at them. Then they felt embarrassed, but they didn't care as they wanted to show that they would help Kai no matter what happens to prevent the teacher from giving him any severe punishment. Seeing that they still didn't leave, Kai sighed.
"Just go. We'll be having a meeting later. I'll give Xia Chen the time and meeting place, so just wait. I can take care of the rest here. I really didn't need your help, but still, thank you," Kai said as he smiled at them.
The students looked at each other and then towards Xia Chen who invited them.
"Are you sure, senior brother?" Xia Chen asked to confirm.
"Yes, why? Do you have only a little faith in your Big Brother?" Kai asked back.
"No! Of course not! I know your prowess very well. It's just that…"
Mr. Zhou has been telling Xia Chen how ridiculous Kai's master is while they are training and lots of praise towards Kai, so of course, he knows it.
Kai just waved his hand and said, "It's fine. Just wait for the news."
"Alright," Xia Chen nodded.
Without delay, the students reluctantly returned to their classrooms, waiting for Kai's order for the meeting. It left only Xia Chen, the guy from earlier, and a student wearing glasses. Seeing that the show was already over, the crowd also dispersed. However, those delinquents who saw the scene stared menacingly at Kai and made a gesture of slitting their necks before leaving.
Kai ignored those fools and confidently made his way towards the empty room. He hadn't attended class yet, but it seemed Xia Chen and the two students who had just left wanted to talk to him about something important.
Once they entered the quiet room, Kai leaned against the wall, crossing his arms. "So, what's up?" he asked, his voice tinged with curiosity.
Xia Chen looked a little sheepish as he scratched the back of his head. "Senior Brother, I'm sorry, but I accidentally let slip that you want to create your own crew to oppose the gangs in our school. When they heard, they actually wanted to join too."
Kai chuckled, shaking his head. "No worries, it's not a secret mission or anything."
He then looked at the two.
"Hmm. You two are weak and want to join the crew?" Kai remarked nonchalantly as he studied the two.
Surprisingly, the duo didn't take offense at his words. "We understand, Senior Brother... But we can still be useful to you," the glasses guy, Lin Wentian, said confidently.
"And you are?" Kai asked.
"Oh! Sorry for the late introduction. My name is Lin Wentian. I'm good with computers," Lin Wentian said proudly.
The other student also stepped forward and said, "My name is Jun Xie. Although I am called the Evil Monarch, my heart is as clean as a saint."
"Great names," Kai said, although his attention was piqued by Lin Wentian's words.
"And how do you plan on being useful?" Kai asked curiously.
With a touch of pride, Lin Wentian explained his skills. "I can help you gather private information, dig up secret files, especially in this day and age where everyone is connected online. I can find information on anyone you want. Plus, I'm skilled in programming and... hacking," Lin Wentian said as his lips curled upward sinisterly when he pronounced the last word.
Kai's mind raced, quickly realizing the potential of having someone like Lin on his side. He may not be the most tech-savvy, but he knows how to use a computer for his homework and cooking experiments. He recalled the documents he got from Uncle Hao, and it was really convenient. Having Lin Wentian as his own personal intelligence gatherer, and if he also had a spy, it could be a game-changer. He could gather intel on his enemies, retrieve those secret files, and plan the ultimate revenge to make their lives miserable.
This was an opportunity that could not be missed.
