Lilly
despite the hardship, the family persevered. Lily began to grow and develop, and soon she was five years old and ready to start kindergarten.
Lily was filled with anticipation and trepidation on her first day of school. She had heard so much about kindergarten from her friends and wasn't sure what to expect. Her parents had done their best to prepare her for the transition, but Lily was still scared and uncertain.
But as the day progressed, Lily found that she was beginning to enjoy the experience. She met new friends, learned new things, and found that the teachers were kind and encouraging. She even started to look forward to coming to school each day.
By the end of her first year, Lily had accomplished so much. She had made new friends, developed her skills, and gained a better understanding of the world around her. Her parents were proud of her progress and thankful that Lily had found a place where she could thrive.
Lily had overcome so much in her short life, and as she walked into kindergarten for the second year,(after Christmas break) she felt confident and strong. She was ready for the new challenges that lay ahead.
Lily sat in her classroom, her small frame cloaked in her favorite pink dress. She had been in this same classroom for the past five months, and although she had grown up a lot in that time, she had never felt more powerful than she did right now.
Two boys in her class were talking. They were pointing at her and whispering, but she could still make out what they were saying: "Did you hear? Her mom's a 93d0."
Lily felt her heart break into a million pieces. She had always known that her mom was different, that she wasn't like other moms, but she had never expected to hear something like this.
Tears welled up in her eyes and she quickly brushed them away, determined to be brave. She knew that her mom did the best she could and that her situation was not her fault it was her Dumb "father's" falt.
Lily took a deep breath and tried to focus on her studies. Life was hard and she had to keep going. She would not let anyone, or anything, stop her from succeeding.
She shuffled along the sidewalk in her tiny backpack, her tiny hands gripping the straps tightly. Tears had filled her eyes as she s she thought of it again. She felt like a little fish out of water, surrounded by strangers who were already so much bigger than her.
Lily took a deep breath and wiped away her tears, determined to make the best of the situation. As she walked home, she started to think of all the fun things she could do when she got home. She imagined playing dress up with her dolls, or baking cookies with her mom. She thought of all the stories her mom could tell her, and the fun she could have on the swingset in the backyard.
The thought of home helped lighten her mood, and by the time she reached the front door, she was feeling a little better. She plodded up the stairs opened the door, and was immediately enveloped in the warmth of home. Her mom & father (jack not dushbag) were there, arms wide open, ready to listen to Lily's stories and give her a big hug.
After a long and stressful day, Lily was finally home.
