Chapter 142 - Chapter 142 - Revealing himself to the world [6]

"Look! We're on TV!"

Prime was comfortably seated in his home, fiddling with his laptop. Annie and Sara were in their rooms, and Ema was the only one by his side. In short, after all the chaos with the buildings, Prime could enjoy a period of peace, watching the events unfold from a distance.

There was a lot of discussion online about the monsters that helped people. Everyone, without exception, appeared in photos and videos: Prime, Sara, Annie and Scream, Ema and Agony. Their forms were clearly visible in the images, easily distinguishable even amidst the smoke.

As a result, new theories began to emerge. After all, this wasn't Prime's first appearance. Both at the college and on the bridge, his figure had been captured and reposted. However, nothing concrete was uncovered due to a lack of information. Of course, some got pretty close to the truth, but in the end, they were labeled as lunatics.

So, Prime didn't care much when he saw his image again on television. He had lost count of how many times it had happened in the three days since the incident with the buildings.

However, even with time passing, it felt like it was still the first day since the photos and videos leaked. The reason for this was the two new symbiotes that appeared in the video, leading many to wonder why there were two more, with theories suggesting that the monster was reproducing. Of course, Prime decided to ignore these speculations; after all, it wasn't as if he was going to answer all the questions that arose.

"Uncle Tony is also on TV"

Upon hearing this, Prime raised an eyebrow. He slowly turned his gaze to the TV, and, as Ema had pointed out moments before, Tony was on screen, displaying his usual arrogant and narcissistic demeanor. Seeing him reminded Prime that, the last time they met, he told Tony he could say whatever he wanted to the press.

(Well... I guess everything will be fine)

(What will be fine? By the way, did you see? Tony was just on TV. It looks like he's going to talk about the incident with the building)

As Prime reflected, Sara's voice suddenly echoed in his mind. He glanced briefly toward the hallways leading to everyone's rooms and saw Sara standing there, holding her phone with one earbud in.

"Oh, looks like you're already aware"

Saying this, Sara walked over to the sofa and sat down next to Prime. Then she grabbed the remote and turned up the volume on the TV. Prime watched all this while sighing, but he was also slightly interested in the interview since it was about Tony. He knew Tony was, in general, an extremely unpredictable person.

[Mr. Stark, do you have any special statements about the case? We know you were present, as shown in the videos available online. However, the unidentified monsters were also there and seemed to cooperate with you. What is your true relationship with them?]

Many voices were speaking simultaneously on the TV, but one stood out, silencing all the others. This question addressed everyone's doubts, and thus everyone fell silent, as the answer would likely please them.

[I don't know if "monster" is the right word. I mean, I might be more handsome than they are, but just like us, they have feelings too]

Prime listened to Tony's words with an amused expression. He was genuinely curious to see what Tony would say, as he always had a talent for lightening up situations just by being present.

[So, you're confirming that you really do have connections with these beings?]

[Everyone pretty much already assumes that, right? Why would I deny it? It's true. I can say that I'm quite close to them; in fact, I've even had drinks with the leader, who wears a white cloak.]

Prime shook his head in response to Tony's words, smiling. He found it interesting and funny that Tony talked about it as if he were referring to a friend who visits every weekend for a few drinks.

(Well, he's not entirely wrong, though)

[There are theories that the beings in the video are aliens from outside Earth. Wouldn't that make them dangerous? They could just be deceiving us to ultimately dominate the planet]

Prime raised an eyebrow upon hearing the words of the woman interviewing Tony. There were indeed people who thought that way; at least, Prime was sure he had never seen comments about that kind of thing. Generally, people seemed more curious about him than fearful. Of course, it's not like Prime could really understand how those people felt just from messages.

[Do you really believe in that nonsense?]

Prime looked up at the television. For some reason, Tony's voice sounded much more serious than usual, and his face, broadcasted on the screen, also showed a much graver expression, quite different from his usual indifference.

[Even with them saving people, do you still want more proof that they are good beings? Moreover, did they ask for anything in return for what they did? No, they just disappeared as if they had never existed]

The broadcast fell into complete silence after Tony's words. At that moment, Prime had a slightly more serious expression, feeling that Tony was genuinely irritated this time. Honestly, Prime didn't think Tony regarded him as that important; it seemed there was still a lot about Tony he needed to discover. After all, they were friends, and it was strange for a friend not to truly know another.

"Sometimes, Tony really says interesting things because he's smart. No, actually, it's because he's Tony that he can express those ideas with such confidence. That's something only he can do"

Prime simply nodded at Sara's words. He truly couldn't find better terms to describe Tony other than "eccentric" In many ways, Tony was undoubtedly quite unique.

[Let it be clear: the beings seen in the videos and photos are not our enemies. I can swear this, putting my name on the line]
