Prime always wondered what he would do if he had to reveal himself to save people. Personally, he never spent much time on that question; if he had to reveal himself, he would simply do it. For him, there was no reason to hide from humans, as he was stronger and possessed abilities far superior to theirs.
Even though there were many humans, in the end, would it make any difference in the face of overwhelming force? Of course, Prime had no interest in controlling humanity or anything like that. He didn't want to play God, nor did he believe he could. However, he also saw no reason to hide.
Even in his previous life as Ryan, he never fully connected with the human species. To be clear, it's not that Prime didn't consider himself human, but he simply couldn't integrate into any particular group. This made him feel even more distant from the species known as "human beings".
Even being that kind of person, Ryan had friends who showed him the good side of humanity. Of course, he witnessed both the ugly and repulsive side of humans as well as the kind and friendly side. Thus, Ryan understood that humans were a quite complex race. But did all of them deserve to be extinguished? The clear answer was no.
Although Prime didn't fit in among humans, that didn't mean he hated them or that he would refuse to help them if he had the chance. However, it was also true that he couldn't feel sympathy for them when he saw them die. To Prime, humanity operated the same way: people generally didn't care about the deaths of other humans they barely knew.
That's why, when Prime saw the building in front of him slowly collapsing, his first instinct was to save the people. While it was true that the deaths of others didn't deeply affect him, that changed when he knew he could prevent it.
In the end, helping was more a matter of personal satisfaction than any other justification. Moreover, Prime couldn't allow the building to collapse on his, as several employees were still working while the opening party was taking place.
"Prime!"
Hearing Sara call his name, Prime quickly dissolved, as if he were made of a viscous substance. Then, Sara's body transformed, slightly growing while her appearance changed drastically. She became a red monster with white parts, partially covered by a white hood that concealed part of her face.
"Wow! It's been a while since I've seen this"
Prime ignored Tony's words and fixed his gaze directly on the building in front of him. Then, two tentacles emerged from his back, followed by two more, totaling four. After that, four more appeared, and the tentacles continued to manifest one after the other until several formed on the backs of Prime and Sara.
(!!!)
Then, Prime sent a call through his mental hive, which was constantly connected to Annie and Ema's symbionts. Since Annie and Ema were the hosts of these symbionts, they could also understand the meaning of this call.
The bodies of Ema and Annie began to transform as well, being enveloped by viscous layers that swallowed them completely before revealing their symbiotic forms. Annie became slightly larger than Ema, while Ema was a bit smaller than her, both maintaining their unique distinctions and colors.
As if it were the signal Prime had been waiting for, the tentacles on his back began to sway before shooting toward the building that was slowly collapsing forward. Prime's tentacles anchored themselves to all accessible parts of the building, and then he forced them upward, trying to lift the structure.
Prime felt his feet sink into the ground as he held the building with his tentacles. At that moment, Annie and Ema jumped and began to climb the building, entering the floors and emerging with people clinging to them. After placing the individuals in safe spots, they quickly returned inside the building. Tony, beside Prime, whistled in amazement at witnessing this scene.
"Impressive! This building must weigh between fifteen and seventeen thousand tons"
Upon hearing Tony's words, Prime slowly turned his head toward him and then replied with a sarcastic tone.
"Are you just going to watch the show, or are you going to help?"
However, Prime's words were quickly answered by a loud rumble that echoed through the area. Then, a flash illuminated the sky before quickly descending toward where Prime and Tony were. As it approached, Prime managed to identify what it was: one of Tony's armors.
Compared to the last time Prime saw an armor, this one was definitely more updated and enhanced. He seriously wondered if Tony spent all his time developing new armors, as every time he saw him wearing one, it was a superior version to the previous one.
"I was just waiting for my ride"
As he said this, the armor opened up, revealing its interior. Prime watched as the armor closed, completely concealing Tony's body. Then, the thrusters in the armor's feet activated, causing him to float slightly above the ground. Turning his gaze to Prime, Tony spoke in his now robotic voice.
"I'll help the girls. Try to hold on for a few more minutes"
Prime merely nodded. In fact, he couldn't do much more than that. The building was much heavier than he had imagined, especially from a human perspective. For Prime, who was no longer human, the weight wasn't as significant. Moreover, even if he had to stay behind, taking care of the building, that didn't mean he couldn't help directly.
Several of Prime's tentacles wrapped around various people, pulling them down. He ignored the fearful but grateful looks as they moved away. In any case, Prime wasn't helping because he expected anything in return; he simply felt it was what he should do.
(Even if they don't care that much, I think it's admirable what you're doing here. Of course, we who are taking the worst, feeling the weight of this building)
Prime just smiled playfully upon hearing Sara's words in his mind. Although he didn't know if she was trying to comfort him, she had managed to do just that.
