"Sorry, that's all I got right now"
Sara said as she placed two cups on the small table and filled them with coffee. After the two men's request, Sara decided to let them in, as Prime had claimed they didn't seem to want to harm her. Anyway, even if that were the case, Sara was confident that Prime would help her; she just felt it.
"No, it's fine. We came unannounced, but still, thanks for the drinks"
Said the man in the wheelchair, picking up the mug and bringing it to his mouth. The other man, on the other hand, just looked around Sara's house, which did not go unnoticed by her. Furthermore, Sara noticed that he wasn't very talkative and seemed unsociable, leading her to believe that the man in the wheelchair would be the one to speak.
"Where should I start... right, do you know the term mutant?"
Hearing those words, Sara widened her eyes in surprise, as it had been a long time since she heard that word. Although she knew, mutants are humans born with physiological modifications that give them natural supernatural abilities. Sara couldn't understand why the subject was being brought up at that moment.
In addition, mutants had become extremely rare. Years ago, various incidents involving mutants occurred in different parts of the world, and as a result, they became hunted and were rarely seen since then. At that time, Sara also heard that many mutants considered themselves superior to the human race, as if they represented the next step in evolution. This resulted in various problems and many wars. Those were all the pieces of information Sara had at the moment.
"I just know they're humans born with physiological modifications or something like that... But why bring up this topic all of a sudden?"
After saying this, Sara noticed the man in the wheelchair smiling sympathetically at her, which she didn't immediately understand.
"That's exactly as you said, but sometimes mutants with extraordinary powers emerge, often greater than they themselves can control. That's the reason we came to find you, Sara. Oh, you don't mind if I call you by your first name, do you?"
Although Sara found it strange that the man knew her name, she casually nodded.
"It's okay, I don't mind"
"Excellent. Now, where were we... Ah, yes, mutants with extraordinary powers"
Agreeing with the man's words, Sara waited for him to continue.
"These mutants often hurt the people they love, even if it's not by their own will. That's why I have a school that welcomes and prepares these mutants so they can live in society with ordinary humans"
Upon hearing the man's words, Sara widened her eyes in surprise, anticipating the direction the conversation would take.
"So... you're saying I'm one of these mutants?"
Nodding in response to Sara's words, the man triggered a series of thoughts in her mind. You see, Sara wasn't truly afraid of being a mutant, but rather of what it could entail in her life. Mutants weren't well-regarded in society, and being one of them could completely ruin her future plans, the plans Prime had for both of them. For her, this was much worse than finding out she was a mutant. Of course, Sara's emotions didn't go unnoticed by Prime.
(Sara, calm down. I know what you might be thinking, but if that's the case, I already knew what you were. While these men are a surprise, I'm not so surprised that you're a mutant)
Prime said, calming Sara. How did Prime know Sara was a mutant? That's quite simple. Since merging with Sara, Prime sensed that there was something inside her. Moreover, that was also the reason why they had such a perfect symbiosis, even by Prime's standards, which could adjust its own cells to fit its host.
By delving into more of Sara's memories, Prime gained knowledge about mutants, and it wasn't difficult to connect the dots about what Prime felt for the first time. Reflecting on this, Prime noticed Sara gradually calming down. Then, the man in the wheelchair uttered a few words.
"I understand that receiving this information so suddenly can be shocking. However, that's why my school exists, to train promising young individuals like you. What do you think?"
Upon hearing the man's words, Sara began to contemplate what she should say. Of course, she would also include Prime in the conversation since it was directly related to both of them.
(What do you think, Prime? I leave this decision to you)
Upon hearing Sara's words, Prime began to ponder the question. Initially, he intended to send Sara to the school. However, the problem lay in how he would do it since Sara didn't have a family. This issue would likely be resolved by the man, but even so, Prime hesitated to trust two people he was seeing for the first time in his life.
Realizing that Prime was taking time to give an answer, Sara turned to the man as she spoke.
"Could you give me until tomorrow to think about this? Honestly, I'm still quite shocked by the revelation that I'm a mutant. I need time to better organize my thoughts"
Hearing this, the man nodded, displaying an understanding smile on his face.
"Of course, then we'll return tomorrow. Rest and reflect well on this. I want to make it clear that we won't force you into anything, so think it over calmly"
Saying that, the man turned and then headed for the door, accompanied by the other man who hadn't uttered a single word during the entire conversation, just observing around. Just before leaving, Sara noticed that the man looked at her with a peculiar gaze. Not fully understanding, Sara looked confused at the man as he exited through the door.
