Pearl awoke refreshed as she got up she walked to Naruto's room and entered to see him pulling on Anna's hair as he fucked her from behind while Lexi palmed his chest as she drank from his neck as her other hand fondled his nuts. Pearl licked her lips and joined them on the bed.
Morning
Kate sat at her computer deep into her research on Naruto, she had run his name through the database and the names associated with him.
Minato Namikaze founder of Sony Enterprises
Hashirama Senju founder of Walmart
Asura Ootsutsuki founder of S.H.I.E.L.D, a world-renowned security firm
Each of these men have long since died and their descendent Naruto Uzumaki was their sole descendent, the only Trillionaire in the world, whereas his forefathers used different last names Naruto proudly stood with the Uzumaki surname.
Rumors were that the secretive clan were the first to settle in New York and had their hands in everything, Oil, Entertainment, Politics, etc, some people didn't even believe that Naruto was an Uzumaki because they are notorious for not drawing attention to themselves, but Naruto was known to party with celebrities, attend sport events and award shows, and was regularly seen amongst the common people to the point he was treated like everyone else as he requested in past interviews.
"Your reading mighty hard."
Kate jumped in surprise and saw Naruto sitting on the side of her desk with a hot cup of tea.
"W-what? How long have you been here?"
"5 minutes." Naruto shrugged before he leaned forward and Kate covered her computer but it was too late, "You're researching me?"
Kate frowned slightly, "Can you blame me?"
Naruto raised an eyebrow
"Your family practically founded New York. Then members of your family went on to found billion-dollar companies, and you are a socialite who became a spy, then retired and wrote a few books and now you want to play detective, Why?"
"Boredom, mainly." Naruto shrugged, before he jabbed a thumb at the computer, "Those are all rumors and the story is more dark and complicated."
"Well, I'm all ears."
Naruto raised an eyebrow as Kate looked deep into his eyes, and he nodded, "Let's take a ride."
The duo got up and left the precinct and got into Kate's car and she began to drive
"The Uzumaki family is descended from Emperor Shoko. His eldest son fell in love with an outsider and gave up his seat at the throne and it went to his younger brother. The eldest son was viewed as a disgrace and his brother thought him weak so he left with his lover.
Assassins followed. Every moment of peace and happiness was stripped from them until they died and when it was discovered that they had a child, it couldn't be allowed to live. For centuries my family has used assumed names to hide in plain sight with none of them using the Uzumaki name. My grandfather and father didn't even know my grandmother's and mother's last names until they proposed.
Anyway, in 1455, my ancestor was living in the mountains of Wallachia, away from people when a woman wanting to be a doctor heard of his possessions and wished to learn science. As he taught her they fell in love and soon were set to get married. Returning from a trip my ancestor found his house burnt to the ground and his fiancee missing, he made it to town in time to see her burning corpse collapse in on itself."
Kate looked at Naruto who was looking out the window, "So in his rage, he killed every single living thing in reach. Coming out of his rage he realized what he did and landed here to die alone and he eventually managed to find love and have a family. He and his new lover created New York City. My family supplied the money, safety, and protection needed. Helped free slaves, women being abused and anyone prosecuted for anything that they had no control over."
"What happened to your parents?" Kate asked
"Murdered," Naruto said simply and said nothing else
Kate frowned sadly, "I'm sorry."
"You didn't know," Naruto said before she got a call
"Beckett."
Central Part, Fifth Ave - Morning
Naruto and Beckett walked alongside Esposito and Ryan toward the crime scene, "One victim. Donald Kendall, 18. He was a senior at Redding Prep." Esposito said
They approach the rowboat containing the body, which has been pulled to shore. Lanie, in wading boots, attended to the body from the side of the row boat, "Someone's gonna miss prom night." Ryan said before Naruto slapped him in the torso causing him to kill over.
"Show some respect. It's a kid." Naruto said as Ryan nodded trying to regain the air that was knocked out of him.
"Redding Prep?" Beckett asked
"Private school on Park Avenue." Naruto said
"What's he doing in a boat?"
"No idea."
"No blood in the boat, means he was dumped inside after he was shot." Naruto said looking around and sniffing before he walked off unseen by everyone
"Dr. Parish, how are you doing?"
"Feet are cold." Lanie said annoyed
"So, what do you got for me?"
"Single GSW to the chest, fairly large-caliber. And, from the lack of blood inside the boat, I'd say he wasn't killed at sea." Lanie said
"Looks like you were rig-" Beckett paused as everyone looked around for Naruto not finding him, "Uh, so somebody moved him."
"He's got dirt and grass all on his Chucky T's. Other than the postmortem voyage, it looks like a pop-and-drop. I'm guessing sometime late last night." Lanie said
"Well, if somebody dragged him here, he couldn't have come from very far. Let's get Uniforms down here to do a perimeter walk. Get them to go from the boats over there down to Fifth. And tell them they're looking for a blood pool and possible shell casings." Beckett ordered
"Roger that." Ryan said walking off
"Esposito, did you check the boathouse?" Beckett asked
"Not yet." Esposito said walking off
Beckett turned and jumped seeing Naruto, "Found the area where he was murdered." He said
"Don't do that!" Beckett demanded
"What?" Naruto asked walking off
Kate sighed and looked to Lanie who smirked at her, "You coming?" Naruto called
Sighing Kate and Lanie followed Naruto for 5 minutes before Lanie noticed something, "You're so checking him out."
"I'm not."
"Yeah you are. He has that effect on women." Lanie said motioning around and Kate noticed all the women in the park looking at Naruto in lust, "Take it from someone who's been with him, once you get a taste you're hooked forever."
Naruto stopped at the pathway on some grass behind a park bench, which sat along the paved pathway, which was now surrounded by red cones.
"So, a 9-1-1 call came in last night, about 50 yards from here. Ryan and Esposito are following up, but I found this." Naruto said, pointing to a semi-dried, gelatinous pool of blood, "Looks like mud. It's actually blood. Figured, he was sitting on top of the bench, takes one to the chest, falls back over here. And then he's left here for a while then dragged to the lake."
"What makes you think he was here for a while." Lanie asked
"This is a very large pool of blood. Lanie said he was shot with a large-caliber bullet and if this kid is dragged when he's a fresh kill, wouldn't there be more of a blood trail?" Naruto asked getting a nod from the two.
"But why would someone come back and move him?"
"If it was a drug dealer, then he's gonna realize the cops are gonna think a drug dealer if we find the body here. Or our killer wants us to believe it was a dealer."
Beckett and Lanie frowned slightly before the three left so CSU could get to work
Kendall Apartment, Living Room
It's a modest sized room that is a bit too cluttered with furniture. Beckett and Naruto sat with Mr. Kendall, the victim's father, 50, gaunt, full of regret and Mrs. Kendall, victim's mother, mid 40s, still in shock.
Naruto stopped analyzing the two and looked to Beckett, "Do you know what he would have been doing in the park?"
"No." Mrs. Kendall shook her head
"When was the last time you saw your son alive?" Naruto asked
"Yesterday, uh, when he left for school." Mrs. Kendall sniffled
"Do you know, maybe, where he went after?"
"He was usually with his friends."
"He didn't come home for dinner?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow
"Most nights, Donny ate out or at someone else's place." Mr Kendall said looking at Naruto, "He hung out with a pretty tight crowd at Redding. They've all been together since grammar school."
"Donny used to have them over all the time." Mrs. Kendall said
"Only, you moved recently." Naruto said causing Kate to look at him
"Yes, a few months ago. I was a partner at Lehman. And when it went under, well, we... we took a big hit."
"That can be pretty tough on a teenager." Naruto said crossing his arms over his chest and sitting back
"You get used to a certain way of living, but it was no one's fault." Mrs. Kendall said
"I'm not saying it is, there are always bumps in the road. Do you think Donny was depressed?"
"Donny was strong. But to lose everything you have... We were just getting by."
"I'm very sorry for your loss." Kate said before she and Naruto left before Mrs. Kendall grabbed his arm and he paused looking at her, as he felt her magic rise.
"All the police would tell us was that he was murdered, how?" Mrs. Kendall asked as Kate paused and watched.
"He was shot." Naruto said giving the woman a significant look
"You find the bastard that did this." Mrs. Kendall said bitterly
"I promise." Naruto nodded
Hallway
Beckett and Naruto head toward the elevator, "How did you know they moved?"
"Either the Kendalls really like art, or that Chinese screen was meant for a much bigger apartment. I wonder how they could still afford Redding." Naruto said getting on the elevator
"You know the school?"
"Sole survivor of the richest family in the world, everyone wants a handout." Naruti shrugged
"It is just so rough being you."
"And I make it look so easy don't I?" Naruto smirked
"Must still be hard, being so rich and powerful, always on the lookout for who's around for your money or for you."
"True. But I've always been a good judge of character." Naruto said with a shrug.
Redding Prep, Corridor
Naruto and Kate walked alongside Chris Markum, the school headmaster, "When the Kendalls said they couldn't afford tuition, we put Donny on scholarship. The family had been very generous in the past, and Donny was one of our brightest. We thought he'd do great things."
"Any idea what he would have been doing in Central Park at night?" Naruto asked
"The truth is, all these kids are icebergs. We only see the tip. If you want to know the rest, you should probably talk to his friends." Chris said, pointing out a cluster of five kids, all around 18 years of age, gathered around a table, "Amanda, Romy, Brandon, Spencer, and Max. It's strange seeing them without Donny."
"Thank you."
"Mr. Uzumaki, please." Chris said with a arm motioning Naruto to walk with him
Looking to Kate she shrugged, "Go, I'll talk with the kids."
Naruto walked with Chris as Kate watched, "Donny was a prodigy, he could grasp difficult spells quickly, there is no way some human just shot and killed him."
"What about his friends? If he's as talented as you say was jealousy a problem "
"No, they all grew up together."
"That doesn't mean anything. Hormones are involved and everyone wants to be a top dog." Naruto said looking at Chris, "One of these kids is the murderer. When we leave you and your staff know the procedure."
Chris nodded and shook Naruto's hand, before Naruto left
Meanwhile
A video from a phone screen played. Donny, in a school hallway, spoke directly to the camera, "Breaking news, my parents are off to Abu Dhabi, so I'm in a 'rents-free zone. Come over tonight for the "Dancing with the Stars" results show. Betting opens at 7:30. My dad's cask-aged 16-year-old single malt opens next."
Pulling back from the phone, Kate looked at the five kids. Brandon, 19, smiled and shook his head as he closed the app on his phone, "That was before they moved and everything."
"Were any of you with Donny last night?" Kate asked as Naruto walked over watching as the kids shook their heads.
Spencer who was 18 explained, "We hung out after school, but we all headed home around five."
"Do you know of any reason he'd be in the park?" Kate asked only for them all to be quiet, "Look, you guys, I went to York. I know all about honor codes and protecting your friends."
Amanda smiled and asked, "You went to York Prep?"
"How's a Yorkie end up a cop?" Brandon asked
"Things happen. Things like this. The point is, if you're trying to protect your friend's memory, I get it. But eventually, the truth comes out. And the faster it does, the easier it'll be for us to help find who did it." Kate said as Naruto stood behind her and the kids looked at him for the first time in awe.
"Uh, his family had lost everything." Brandon said staring at Naruto
"Not that we cared. But we go out, you know?"
"We always offered to cover him, but he couldn't handle it."
"Yeah, he just kind of fell apart."
"Fell apart, how?" Naruto asked, watching them look away, "Your friend is dead. Nothing you say about him can get him in trouble."
"He kind of got into drugs." Amanda said causing Naruto and Kate to frown
"If he had money problems, how'd he support a drug habit?" Naruto asked
"He started dealing, in the park."
A few minutes later the kids were leaving as Naruto and Kate watched them, "There lying." He said
"How do you know?" Kate asked
"Cause I'm good like that." Naruto said walking off
"We're going to need more than that if we take another crack at them."
"Then let's go get it." Naruto smirked before they left
5 Minutes Later
An assembly was called at Redding Prep causing everyone to file into the auditorium.
Chris sighed as he stepped on stage in front of the students, "Hello everyone I know today has been a trying one. So I'll cut straight to the chase, as you all know our society has rules that we must follow. A student was killed by another witch and until that witch is found effective immediately statewide, all magic is sealed, until Lord Naruto says so."
Precinct, Interrogation
Kent Scoville, the Eminem-wannabe drug dealer who the 911 caller ID for Esposito sat across from Beckett, "Do you know why you're here?"
"No idea." Scoville shrugged
"The arresting officer said that he saw you in a hand to hand sale of narcotics in the park."
"Must have me confused with somebody else."
"Really? Is that what you're giving me? The "All drug dealers look alike"? You were arrested with money and dope, Mr. Scoville. Given the fact you have two prior felony sales on your sheet, you should probably come up with something better pretty quick." Kate said
"Why are you jamming me up like this?" Scoville frowned
"What were you doing in the park last night?" Kate asked
"What makes you think I was even in the park?" Scoville asked
"A very reliable witness said she saw you running towards 72nd Street about midnight." Kate said
Observation Room
Naruto and Capt. Montgomery watched Beckett with Scoville as a uniform handed Naruto a folder.
"No gunpowder residue on his hands or past firearm convictions. Guys a drug dealer not a murderer." Naruto said causing Montgomery to frown
"Let's see what he can give us."
"So? I was running in the park, so what?" Scoville said
"So, running isn't illegal, but shooting someone is."
"What?!" Shooting someone?"Scoville asked before Beckett dropped a photo of Donny in front of Scoville, and Naruto watched his face twitched as he sensed shock from the man
"Do you recognize this person? Donny Kendall." Beckett asked
"Never seen him before." Scoville said before Naruto entered
"Really? How come I'm getting the feeling that you're not being completely truthful with us?" Naruto asked
"I want immunity." Scoville said causing Naruto to laugh
"From what, the mumps? You know what a three-time loser is, Scoville? It's a person facing a third felony conviction. Someone just like you, in fact."
"Alright. I seen him."
"Last night?" Beckett asked as Naruto sat down
"Yeah. Last night."
"You sell to him?" Naruto asked
"No."
"You're a drug dealer -- how'd you know him? You poker buddies?" Beckett asked only for Scoville to remain silent
"Your facing a murder charge if your innocent of murder at least, best to come clean." Naruto said, compelling the man.
"I didn't sell to him or his little buddies! They were working for me." Scoville said causing Naruto to look at Beckett.
"What little buddies?"
"I don't know. Kids. Friends of his."
"Describe them." Naruto said
"Coupla dudes. Coupla chicks. One was Asian. Kinda hot." Scoville said
"Okay. So, you're telling us that you saw all of them in the park last night, right?" Beckett asked
"Yeah."
"Working for you?" Naruto asked
"I supplied that punk. Alright? His friends bought off me, too. Then they'd go play "dealer", selling to the upscales in Sheep's Meadow."
"They sold for you?" Beckett asked shaking her head in disappointment
"Donny, yeah. The others, it was just, like, a goof. Like, walk on the wild side. Like, truth or dare."
"So, where were you when Donny got shot?"
"I was hangin' with my boys, down by that Alice in Wonderland statue. We didn't see nothin'. We heard the shot, took off."
"What about the gun?"
"I told you, I don't pack." Scoville said
Naruto looked at Beckett with a frown
Redding Prep, Auditorium
Romy, Amanda, Spencer, Max and Brandon sat in the theater seats with Beckett and Naruto sitting in front of them, "You guys lied to us. You were all with Donny when he got shot, weren't you? Anyone know what obstruction is?"
"I believe that's when you deliberately give false information in a criminal case." Naruto said with his arms crossed.
"You go to prison for it." Beckett said as the kids looked concerned except for Brandon which Naruto noticed.
Naruto walked forward, "So let's try this again." The kids gulped as black veins momentarily bulged, "What happened?"
"Donny was out of control. We were just trying to stop him." Brandon said
"Why don't I believe you?"
"Sometimes we'd go to the park, too. We'd tell our parents we're hanging out at one of our apartments, but we'd actually go to the park and party. And Donny would…"
"Would get you whatever you wanted." Beckett said
"We're all just hanging out, having a good time, partying. And this guy came over, and he's all messed up, and he's got this gun a-and he's yelling at Donny, "Where's my money? I want my freaking money!" Donny owes him two hundred bucks."
"And Donny didn't have it." Max said
"Then the guy points the gun. And there's this loud pop, and you just see Donny's body crumble." Romy replied
"You're still lying." Naruto said his eyes flashing dangerously, "A guy runs up on your friend demanding money and none of you rich kids forks over the cash to save his life. So again what happened?"
Romy, glanced around, her grandparents had been saved by Naruto back in the day and her family owed him a debt, if it got back to her family that she lied with her friends to his face then she would be in even more trouble.
"It was an accident. We were just playing a game." Romy said as everyone looked at her
"A game?" Kate asked
"Like Russian Roulette." Amanda said
"Who's gun?" Naruto glared
"It was my dad's. We never meant for there to be bullets. We just pointed the gun at each other and pulled the trigger, just to see what it felt like." Spencer admitted
"Then how did Donny get shot?" Beckett asked
"I bought bullets. We went up to my summer house in Montauk, just to shoot around cans and stuff. One must have got left in by accident." Spencer said
"Who? Who shot him?" Beckett asked
"It was me." Max cried
"You?" Naruto scoffed looking at Max
"It's true. I have a video." Brandon said
"What?"
"We'd take videos, you know? Just for laughs, doing crazy stuff. Romy's dad, Mr Lee is like this big IT guy, and he hooked us up with a file share over Bluetooth. That way, we'd all get the files. Amanda shot this that night." Brandon said, walking up and handing Naruto the phone.
"What is it?
"A video. Of Donny getting shot. We were all supposed to erase it. But I knew that if the truth came out, we'd all be screwed. And after what happened to those kids in that Duke case, I just... I didn't wanna end up like that."
The "camera-work" is jerky. It's the same pathway where they found the blood pool earlier. We see Brandon as he raises a flask to his lips.
"Oh, yeah, suck it down, Bran."
"Chug! Chug!" Donny cheered
"Suck it! Suck it!" Amanda chanted
"You made me spill your drink." Brandon laughed
'You suck." Romy laughed
Brandon hands the flask to Romy, "Little Brandon wet himself!" Amanda laughed
"Alright, let's do this, baby! Blast me, Max-o. Take me out!"
The others crack up in laughter, "Hey! You pulled my mom's Harry Winston tennis bracelet." Romy yelled
"That you stole." Max said
"Borrowed." Romy corrected
"That's worth more than my entire family." Donny said
"Cue the violins. Aw!"
"Come on, guys! My arm's getting tired." Amanda yelled
"Let's do this!" Donny said getting atop the park bench
"Okay. Okay, here we go." Max said as Donny stands like Neo in The Matrix, Max holds the gun straight out at Donny's chest.
"Goodbye, Mr. Anderson." Max said before the gunshot went off causing them to scream and run in fear.
Naruto and Kate walked away from the kids and talked privately, "Guess it's not too often you get a murder caught on tape, huh?" Naruto asked Kate as the kids sat in the corner.
"Yeah, well, he was smart to keep it. Otherwise, they'd all be facing a manslaughter charge." Kate said
"Yeah. That was pretty smart when you think about it, wasn't it?" asked Naruto looking at Brandon and back to Kate, "I'm just saying, it's pretty lucky they filmed their little game that night."
"Yeah, well, people post crazy stuff on YouTube." Beckett said
"I get filming it the first few times. It's exciting. But the tenth? The fifteenth? What was so special about that night?"
"Donny got shot."
"So the only reason to film it is--"
"You knew something was going to happen." Beckett said before Naruto walked over
"Amanda, why'd you film the video?"
"Brandon told me too, why?"
Naruto looked at Brandon, "When was the last time you filmed your little game?"
"A year ago."
"So what made that night so special?" Naruto asked with narrowed eyes
"I do-" Brandon ran and Naruto and Kate pursued
As he ran Brandon reached into his backpack and pushed the door open before turning and shooting at the two.
Naruto pulled Kate out the way and they fell as Brandon shot the chairs as they laid between them before he ran off, "You okay?"
Kate nodded before Naruto got up and she followed him out to the front of the school and they saw Brandon nowhere in sight before Kate had the school put on lockdown.
20 Minutes Later
Cops crawled the area as Naruto was with the professors on the phone, "Yea, his name is Brandon Funk. Find him alive and bring him to me. Thanks."
"I can't believe he would do something like this." Chris said
"Doesn't matter. He did and there are consequences besides jail that he has to worry about now." Naruto replied
"So what's the plan?" Another teacher asked
"He can't leave New York, the police will check his known hangouts and he will be hunted down by vampires of my choosing. Contact the boys parents and tell them what's going on."
Naruto's Home
Naruto was on the balcony drinking some scotch, as he overlooked his city, "Mr. Naruto, please he's just a boy."
"He is 18, Mr. Funk. He killed one of his own and tried to pin it on 2 other people. Then he shot at me." Naruto scoffed, causing Brandon's parents to frown, "He's lucky he isn't dead right now."
"What're you going to do to him?" Mrs. Funk asked with an undertone of fear in her voice.
"Take his magic and all the memories he has that correlate to the supernatural." Naruto said with a shrug turning and entering his home, "Then hand him over to the police where he will spend the rest of his life in prison."
The parents frowned and nodded when the door slammed open and Brandon slid across the floor and into the wall as Jessica entered, "Bastard stabbed me." She said holding a cursed dagger
Brandon stood up and saw his parents and smirked as he looked at Naruto, "So you found me, can we get this lecture over so I can go home now?"
"You have no home." Mr. Funk said, causing Brandon to look at him, "You have no family, no friends. You are a disappointment."
Brandon looked at his mother, who said nothing and nodded at Naruto. Lexi and Pearl appeared and grabbed Brandon's arms and held him down while Anna walked up with a force-feeding tube before she forced it into his mouth down his throat into his small intestine as he gagged and tried to move.
Trish handed Naruto a glass with a green shake, "This shake is mixed with herbs and other items spelled to take away your magic forever. No hard feelings kid but rules are rules." He said before he poured the shake down the tube as Brandon had tears falling from his eyes.
"Couldn't you have just taken his magic?" Jessica asked
"That would kill him. And the withdrawal-like symptoms this gives him will only be the start of his suffering. " Naruto said before he stepped back as the tube was ripped free and Brandon began to cough and gag before his hair was grabbed and he was forced to look into Naruto's eyes.
Later, Precinct
Naruto entered the precinct to see Kate watching uniforms take Brandon to the holding cell, "You found him?"
"Yeah, anonymous tip. He's going away for a long time. The funny thing is if he hadn't moved Donny's body we wouldn't have figured out it was him."
"Well, you wouldn't have figured it out." Naruto corrected
"Oh like you would have?"
"I was the MVP today. I figured this out in a day." Naruto said as Kate shook her head before Naruto sat down
"You're going to hang out here?" Kate asked sitting down
"Waiting for Lanie, she said she wanted to be wined and dined, so."
"Are you guys dating?" Kate asked with a small amount of jealousy.
"Nah, I'm just her stress reliever. You should find one too. Have a good night Detective." Naruto said seeing Lanie at the elevator and Kate watched him go over to her best friend who pulled him into the elevator before kissing him and she frowned jealously.
Shaking her head Kate returned to her computer and opened a folder before she continued her research into Naruto.
