The end of the week came and everyone except Kurenai who decided to stay back with Hinata and Shino, was on their way to the bridge. Everyone noticed that Gato's men that would terrorize the citizens of wave weren't around as much anymore and if they were, their groups that were usually groups of 2 were cut down to groups of about 5-7. Tazuna noticed that the people also seemed happier and more alive talking about some hero of wave. They also started to fight back when they could and Gato was beginning to get worried.
Kushina knew it was Naruto because she's seen him help people a lot throughout the week and play with the little kids in the village. Speaking of kids, Inari wasn't being a brat as much anymore and when he did, Kushina would simply tell him she'll get Naruto on him again if he doesn't stop. Needless to say Inari stopped being a brat when Kushina was around because he was terrified of Naruto.
Kushina reprimanded Menma and Narumi for carelessly and recklessly using the nine tails chakra and attacking their teammate. They tried to defend themselves, but Kushina wasn't having it. Kiba tried to downplay Naruto in front of everyone along with Menma and Narumi, but nobody paid them any attention. Sasuke was relatively the same and stayed away from everyone if it had nothing to do with training.
Hinata would sneak out and try to stalk or in her case check on Naruto, but could never find him. Shino was quiet as usual and Sakura was quiet which was unusual and Kurenai and Kushina took notice of this and pulled her aside a few days ago to talk to her during training.
Flashback
"Sakura, can you come with us?" Kurenai asked
"Yeah." Sakura answered and walk away with Kurenai and Kushina
"Ok, spill it. What's wrong? You've been really quiet since everything happened between Naruto, Inari, Menma and Narumi." Kushina said
"Kurenai-sensei said that we've all had a part in bullying Naruto mentally and physically. You both just saw what he did to Menma, Narumi and Inari. What if he does that to me?" Sakura asked
"He won't, unless you physically try to harm him. He told me that you two were once friends for about a week in the academy before he stopped talking to you because of your fangirlish ways. Why'd you change and become so focused on Sasuke?" Kushina asked
"I'd like to know that as well. I've seen you and him talking and studying together when I would be in the academy filling in for a teacher." Kurenai said
"My mom told me to. She said that I was meant to be with Sasuke and at the time I was just developing my school girl crush on him. She said that if I wanted to get Sasuke to notice me then I would need to act like the other girls, but become more assertive. I became the loudest in class and started to diet to keep my body in top shape. I started to study more and trained at the bare minimum to pass. I was 8 so I had to always listen to my mother. She was always right and I believed her. She said Naruto was a demon and that I shouldn't be friends with him so I started to treat him like everyone else." Sakura said
"Let me ask you something. Does Naruto act like a demon?" Kushina asked
"No. He just stayed in the back of class and always had a calm intimidating look on his face." Sakura said
"Do you know how many friends Naruto has that are your age?" Kurenai asked
"No." Sakura answered
"He has one friend your age. She's a year older though. Her name is TenTen." Kushina said
"Take away TenTen and the only people Naruto talks to is Me, Kurenai, a woman named Shizune and a woman named Anko. I'm his mother and Kurenai and Anko are more like older sisters as well as Shizune, but she's out traveling with Tsunade." Kushina said
"So he doesn't have any friends outside of TenTen?" Sakura asked
"No. Everyone his age were told to stay away from him and they did as told and treated him like crap. He thought you were different and had a completely different opinion towards you. Now, I don't know how he feels towards you." Kurenai said
"He told me I disgusted him the last time we talked. That was the day I started to treat him like every other kid in the village." Sakura said
"Do you understand why he said it?" Kurenai asked
"I do now. My chance at having an actual friend besides Ino who's basically my enemy now is gone." Sakura said sadly
"I don't know about that. I mean he gave me another chance after neglecting him for basically 7 years. Granted I'm his mother, but he didn't have to give me a chance. I talked to him and asked for a second chance and look at us now." Kushina said
"Do you think he'll give me another chance?" Sakura asked
"You have to ask him yourself." Kurenai said
"Sakura, why did you want to become a ninja?" Kushina asked
"I didn't want to be a ninja like you two. I wanted to be like lady Tsunade. I was studying medical stuff, but then my mom said Sasuke wouldn't want someone like a weak medical ninja and I stopped. I tried to become more like all of the other ninja that I see doing all this cool ninjutsu and taijutsu, but it's not working." Sakura said
"Sakura, being a medical ninja isn't weak. I'd say that they have to train the hardest in the village. It's not easy to become a medical ninja, it's pretty damn hard. Their most basic healing jutsu requires precise chakra control and concentration. One slip up and you can kill your patient." Kushina said
"I think you should start studying medical ninjutsu again." Kurenai said
"Can one of you recommend me to the hospital for some lessons?" Sakura asked
"I would rather you go to somebody who knows what they're talking about." Kurenai said
"They're in the hospital. Don't they know what they're talking about?" Sakura asked
"No. Since lady Tsunade left, the hospital has become a shell of itself." Kurenai said
"Then who can I study under?" Sakura asked
"Well, there's a certain blonde and red headed boy who studied under Shizune, who is also lady Tsunade's apprentice. He has all the notes and books that Tsunade gave to Shizune. He can't use medical ninjutsu except for the mystic palm jutsu, but he did study everything she gave him just because. You should talk to him after the mission." Kushina said
"Think he'll listen to me?" Sakura asked
"He's understanding. I'm sure he'll hear you out." Kushina said
"Now, let's get back to training." Kurenai said and they left
Flashback End
Ever since that day Sakura has taken her training more seriously and started to go out on a few runs to get her in shape. They arrived at the bridge and noticed that there were bodies everywhere on the bridge.
"Hold on. What the heck is this? What happened?!someone was here. Someone got to them." Tazuna said
"Could it be." Kakashi thought as fog started to settle in
"This mist. Everyone get ready!" Kakashi said
"I knew you were still alive Zabuza! I guess you had to take out innocents since you couldn't wait for round 2" Kakashi said
"Sorry I kept you waiting, Kakashi. I see you've still got those brats with you. That one is still trembling. Pitiful." Zabuza said as 4 clones of Zabuza appeared around them
"Heh." Sasuke smirked
"Huh?" One of the clones said
"I'm trembling with excitement." Sasuke said
"Go on, Sasuke." Kakashi said and Sasuke quickly took out the 4 clones of Zabuza
"Ooh, so you could see they were water clones, huh? The brats are improving. Looks like you've got a rival, Haku." Zabuza said
"So it seems." Haku said
"Well well, I guess I had it right. It was an act." Kakashi said
"An act?" Tazuna asked
"With a cute little mask." Kakashi said
"So I guess all that about you being a tracker ninja protecting its village was just a bunch of bull." Tazuna said
"Can we start fighting already?!" Kiba asked
"Not so fast. I've got some help. I can handle Kakashi on my own, but dealing with the red hot blooded habanero is something completely different." Zabuza said
"Yes, it seems samehada can't wait to fight against you, Kushina Uzumaki." A fish like man said appearing while wearing a black cloak
"Kisame Hoshigaki, the tailless tailed beast." Kushina said pulling out her sword
"Don't forget about my partner. It's time for a little reunion, don't you think?" Kisame said laughing
"Kushina Uzumaki, it's nice to see you again." A calm voice said that everyone recognized
"ITACHI." Sasuke yelled and tried to run at him, but was grabbed by Kakashi
"Sasuke stop!" Kakashi said
"Kakashi Hatake, otherwise known as Kakashi of the sharingan. I hope you do not plan on having my foolish little brother challenge me." Itachi said standing next to Kisame
"No, you'll be fighting either me or Kushina. It's time to pay for your crimes against the Uchiha clan." Kakashi said and lifted his headband
"NO ONE FIGHTS ITACHI BUT ME." Sasuke yelled
"Sasuke, you have your orders. You, Menma, Narumi and Kiba will take on the fake hunter nin! Sakura you guard the client. I'll deal with Zabuza while Kushina handles Kisame. After that we can all take on Itachi." Kakashi said
"That's not needed. My opponent has already arrived. Isn't that right, Naruto?" Itachi asked and everyone turned and saw Naruto standing there
"Nice to see you again, Itachi-Sensei." Naruto said calmly
"Have you become stronger?" Itachi asked activating his sharingan
"Let's find out." Naruto said staring into Itachi's eyes
"Naruto! Look away!" Kakashi said
"There's no need for me to look away. I know my way around the sharingan." Naruto said
"BACK OFF LOSER HE'S MINE! ONLY AN UCHIHA CAN DEFEAT AN UCHIHA." Sasuke yelled
"Then I guess that's why I'm fighting him." Naruto said and activated his sharingan
"WHAT?" Everyone but Itachi and Kushina yelled
"How do you have the sharingan?!" Sakura asked
"Let's get started. Shall we, Itachi?" Naruto asked
Itachi & Naruto
Itachi didn't respond. They both simply vanished and went to their own separate area to fight. Naruto knew his taijutsu was great, but Itachi was better than him. He decided to throw in a few random moves that worked against Itachi's sharingan and got a few hits in. Itachi was impressed by Naruto's growth since he had neither him nor Shisui to help train him. They jumped apart and as Itachi went through multiple hand signs, Naruto only used one. This caught Itachi off guard as they did their jutsus.
Fire style: Fireball jutsu
Their jutsu clashed in the middle resulting in an explosion. The smoke cloud was huge and caused both of them to cover their eyes. Naruto used his wind manipulation to blow away the smoke and once he did he looked up and Itachi was in front of him with his Mangekyou sharingan activated.
Tsukuyomi
Tsukuyomi world
Naruto looked around in this familiar genjutsu and didn't seem bothered by it. He was tied to a cross and there was a blood red moon in the sky that resembled a fully matured sharingan. He looked in front of him as a flock of crows started to form in front of him. After they were done, Itachi stood in front of him.
"Welcome to my world of Tsukuyomi. Here I control everything including your fate. While 3 days will have passed in here, only 3 seconds will have gone by in the real world." Itachi said
"I know. It's always fascinating to control someone's fate with a simple genjutsu, isn't it?" Naruto asked
"What do you mean?" Itachi asked
"You aren't the only one who can use the Mangekyou sharingan." Naruto said and activated his
"When?" Itachi asked
"The night you left that scroll on my bed." Naruto said
"So you are aware of the abilities of the Mangekyou sharingan? How far have you come?" Itachi asked
"I've got all of them except Kotoamatsukami. My susanoõ is still in its first stage since I've recently unlocked it, however everything else is just fine and pretty much mastered." Naruto said
"Who did you practice on? You couldn't have mastered them already without having an opponent." Itachi said
"Danzo has been sending his root anbu after me for a few years. I used it against them a lot and did pretty good with it. That's where most of my training came from. He would send out genin, chunin and jonin level root members after me. Each time one group never came back, he would send a stronger group. I've been fighting him off for 6 years now and now my mom wants him dead more than usual." Naruto said
"I take it you've mended the relationship with your family." Itachi said and released Naruto from the cross
"Thanks. I've only bonded with my mom. Everyone else is still the same except Menma and Narumi have become even worse over the years due to Minato and Jiraiya pampering them growing up." Naruto said
"What happened with Danzo? Why does Kushina want him dead even more?" Itachi asked
"On top of him trying to capture me, he was also the reason the Uzumaki clan was wiped out." Naruto said
"Didn't Iwa, Kumo and Kiri join together and attack the Uzumaki clan?" Itachi asked
"Yes, but they wouldn't have known how to get into the village by disabling the seals at weak points in the village. A spy caught Danzo giving away information to them. By the time the spy got back to Uzushiogakure, the attack was already happening. The leader at the time already sealed everything away only to be unlocked by an Uzumaki who was deemed worthy enough to know the truth." Naruto said
"Why would Danzo go so far to get rid of an ally?" Itachi asked
"He wanted the Uzumaki sealing notes and weapons. It wouldn't have mattered if he had them anyway as only certain Uzumaki can read them and not even the sharingan can decipher them." Naruto said
"I thought your mother had all of the Uzumaki Scroll with her combined from the ones Mito had given her." Itachi said
"No, she had a lot of them yes, but the really important ones were kept hidden and sealed away in Uzushiogakure." Naruto said
"Then how did Danzo know about them?" Itachi asked
"There's only one person in the village who my mom trusted more than your mother." Naruto said
"Minato." Itachi said
"Exactly. I don't think he purposely told Danzo about them. It must've slipped out one time during a meeting while the war was going on. Danzo used it to his advantage and gave out information to help destroy the Uzumaki clan so he can have the notes and weapons for himself. Too bad it wouldn't have worked. The instant somebody that didn't have Uzumaki blood in them tried to enter the building, they would've been killed on the spot." Naruto said
"That's a lot of information. When will you make your move against Danzo?" Itachi asked
"I'm not. I'm leaving this village after the chunin exams and won't be back." Naruto said
"Why the chunin exams? Why not now?" Itachi asked
"Because my jutsu isn't ready yet. Plus I promised my mom I'd compete in the chunin exams. She wants me to become a chunin before I leave. Minato has forbidden me from becoming a chunin until I'm no longer a flight risk, but my mom said the fire daimyo will be there so he can overrule that decision and promote me himself if he chooses to." Naruto said and Itachi nodded
"The group I'm a part of is hunting down jinchuriki. We won't start until 3 years from now since we need to gather funds. I don't know what it's for, but it isn't good. I know you've already met Madara Uchiha. He was fuming about being outsmarted by a 7 year old." Itachi said
"He's not Madara Uchiha. The real Madara would never hide behind a mask." Naruto said
"That's just the name he goes by. Tobi is another name he uses. Anyway, in three years all jinchuriki will be hunted down and it will most likely cause a war or be the end of the world. Despite what you told him, Tobi still thinks you're the actual jinchuriki for the nine tails and will probably come after you himself." Itachi said
"Even if I was the jinchuriki, I'm not going to another village or anything. I'm going to a completely different dimension to live in." Naruto said
"I won't ask how. Now another thing. Oto and Suna are planning an attack during the chunin exams." Itachi said
"Why? Isn't Suna allies with Konoha?" Naruto asked
"Yes, but Orochimaru is behind it all. He's the leader of the sound village and has somehow managed to get Suna on his side to plot an invasion. I'm sure Jiraiya is already getting reports of tension brewing, but only tell Kushina." Itachi said and the Tsukuyomi ended
Real world
When they returned to the real world, fighting was still going on and the fog was still thick. Naruto looked at Itachi and saw him fall down to a knee with blood coming from his eye. That's not what Naruto cared about as the same thing happens to him when he uses his Mangekyou sharingan. What caught his attention was the fact that Itachi was coughing up blood and they didn't really do any damage to each other.
"How bad is it?" Naruto asked
"Don't worry about it." Itachi said
"Itachi, I know how you want to die. How bad is it? I might be able to help you." Naruto said
"It's gotten pretty bad. Plus with the use of the Mangekyou sharingan, my body can't keep up fighting off both effects." Itachi said and Naruto pulled out a seal and gave it to him
"Take this and put it on your chest over your heart." Naruto said
"What is it?" Itachi asked
"It's a prototype medical seal. It should last for 3 or 4 years. It'll slow down whatever is wrong with you and give you some extra time. I know this is getting annoying to you, but you should really go and see a doctor. I can get in contact with Shizune and have you meet up with her in private to heal whatever's wrong with you." Naruto said
"There's no need for that. This is just the beginning of me paying for my sins. I've dug my own grave and I need to lay in it." Itachi said
"Just put the seal on then like I said. It's the least I can do for you training me for two years." Naruto said and Itachi placed the seal on his chest
"Look out for Sasuke for me. I know you're leaving, but Orichimaru is after him and plans to seal him with his curse mark during the chunin exams somehow. He has an accomplice by the name of Kabuto Yakushi. If you can take him out sometime during the exam, you'll put a wrench in Orichimaru's plan. He'll be disguised as a leaf genin, but he's on par with Kakashi." Itachi said
"It's not much I can do against Orochimaru, but I'll try. As for his little accomplice, I'll see what I can do about him. Now, Kisame is on his way over here so kick me over the bridge to not bring suspicion on yourself." Naruto said
Itachi didn't hesitate to kick him over the edge as Kisame came over to him looking like he was put in a fight with an army of knives. He had cuts all over his body, his cloak was pretty much gone and Samehada for some reason seemed to be panting as if it was hurting.
"I take it you lost." Itachi said
"Shut up. I didn't have to fight a genin like you." Kisame said
"Only genin in rank, but mid-high anbu in terms of strength. We've got what we came for, let's go." Itachi said and they vanished
"Could've warned me before kicking me off the edge." Naruto said as Kushina appeared by him
"How'd it go? I know you didn't fight him." Kushina said
"We fought a bit. I think he was just testing me though. He's living on borrowed time right now." Naruto said
"Of course he is. He single handedly killed the Uchiha clan. He's going to have a lot of people coming after him." Kushina said
"It would take somebody of your caliber to defeat him. What I mean is, he's slowly dying from a disease and refuses to get medical attention." Naruto said
"What aren't you telling me? He's a criminal and I know you won't hesitate to fight a criminal. What's going on?" Kushina asked
"There's just some things that you don't understand that are best kept a secret." Naruto said
"Is it a village secret?" Kushina asked
"Yes. Only Minato and the three elders know it. Outside of them the only people who know are me and Itachi, but they don't know that I know. I would tell you, but Itachi doesn't want me to. There is something I can tell you though." Naruto said
"What's that?" Kushina asked
"Suna and Oto are planning to attack the leaf during the chunin exams and it's being led by Orochimaru. Before you ask, yes I know Suna is allied with Konoha, but Orochimaru is behind all of it. Another thing, the group Itachi joined will be hunting all jinchuriki in 3 years from now. I told you about the fake Madara Uchiha and he still thinks I'm the jinchuriki of the nine tails. I'll be gone so that should give you sometime to get the other two kids you have ready. All of them will be kage level opponents and they'll most likely capture the jinchuriki by tail amount so they'll be last." Naruto said
"And Itachi didn't tell you this." Kushina said
"No, we heard some people talking about it in an alley." Naruto said
"You're not lying are you?" Kushina asked
"I'd never lie to my mother." Naruto said
"I know. Now, go help Sakura guard Tazuna." Kushina said
"Gato's on his way with what's left of his henchmen. I can feel them they'll be here in a few minutes." Naruto said
"I guess this is it. I'll go let Kakashi..."
She stopped talking when she felt a huge amount of nine tails chakra coming off of Menma. They both went over to where the chakra was coming from and saw Kiba, Sasuke and Narumi on the ground filled with needles. Kushina got worried, but Naruto explained to her that they were only in a death like state. They saw Menma punch the fake hunter ninja in the face and sent her crashing to the ground after breaking through her Crystal ice mirrors. Menma went for the kill, but Naruto went over to him and knocked him out.
"Why did you do that? I failed Zabuza. I am a worthless tool. You should kill me now." Haku said
"It's time to see how strong you really are. Zabuza's chakra is fading as we speak and Kakashi is about to finish the job." Naruto said
Just then, they heard a loud screeching noise that sounded like a thousand birds. Naruto blew away all of the fog and everyone saw Zabuza being held down by a pack of dogs. Kakashi ran at Zabuza intending to kill him with his jutsu and Haku tried to interfere. Naruto stopped Haku from helping and stopped Kakashi himself by grabbing his wrist, absorbing the lightning chakra and redirected it to the sky.
"How did he do that?" Kakashi thought
"Naruto! What are you doing?!" Kakashi asked
"Gato is here. My guess is he waited for us to weaken Zabuza and hoped he would do the same so he could take us all out. Isn't that right, Gato?" Naruto asked
"You're smarter than your age let's on kid. Zabuza and his partner were too expensive. I wasn't going to pay them anyway. That masked bitch almost broke my hand. Thanks for leaving him alive. I want to kill him personally. As for the women, especially the redhead beauty with the big chest, I'll be taking her for myself to have my ways with." Gato said looking Kushina with a grin on his face
"That's the wrong thing to say buddy." Zabuza said
"Why is that? You want her for yourself? I guess you can have her first before I take her." Gato said
"No, he means that you've just signed your death wish. My son doesn't take kindly to anyone who insults me." Kushina said
"Any last words?" Naruto asked and he appeared behind Gato with a Kunai at his neck
"Wait, I'll give you anything you want! Money! Women! Power! You name it! Just don't kill me!" Gato begged
"Fine, I want you to bring everyone back to life that you've killed since coming to wave. I want you to give the innocence back to every woman and little girl you've raped." Naruto said
"I-I can't do that." Gato said now pissing his pants
"I can't let you live." Naruto said and slit his throat
"He-He killed him." Sakura thought and ran to the side of the bridge and threw up
"He killed our meal ticket!" One of Gato's goons said
"Let's kill them!" Another said and they all ran at them
"Hey kid." Zabuza said to Naruto
"Yeah?" Naruto asked
"Lend me a kunai." Zabuza said through labored breaths
Naruto tossed him a kunai that Zabuza caught in his mouth. He couldn't use his arms anymore due to Kakashi shoving a kunai in each of his shoulder blades. Zabuza rushed in and looked like a mad man killing everyone in his path. He went through Gato's men like they were nothing and used the kunai in his mouth to stab and cut everyone of the goons' throats. He was finally done and had multiple weapons stabbed into his back. He dropped the kunai from his mouth and walked over to Haku. He placed a hand on her shoulder and just collapsed to the ground face first. Haku pulled the weapons out his back and tried to heal him.
"It's no use, Haku. This is the end for me." Zabuza said
"I can't be the end master Zabuza. What about our dream?" Haku asked trying not to cry
"That wasn't our dream, it was my dream. A dream I pushed onto you being selfish and refusing to acknowledge the fact that you might have wanted a different dream or lifestyle. I dragged you into this mess when I found you on the street and raised you to be my weapon. I haven't thought about you that way in a few years. I came to think of you as my daughter and became a bit overprotective of you." Zabuza said
"There's no such thing as becoming overprotective when it comes to your children. Trust me, I have three of them." Kushina said
"What will I do when you're gone? You're all I have?" Haku asked now crying
"You need to keep living. Me being dead shouldn't keep you from living your life. I raised you and trained you in everything that I know. Kushina, is it possible for you to take Haku back to Konoha to live there?" Zabuza asked
"Has she ever committed a crime against a leaf shinobi? Or Konoha itself?" Kushina asked
"No." Zabuza said
"Then she can come. She'll have to go through a probation period since she was traveling with you. We might want to keep her kekkei genkai a secret. The higher ups will put her in the CRA program and force her to be a breeding stock since she's the last of her clan." Kushina said
"Just adopt her into the Uzumaki clan. All Uzumaki are exempt from that law in Konoha. Have Zabuza sign off on it since he's technically her current guardian and then it becomes official. I know you carry those forms on you." Naruto said
"I forgot about that!" Kushina said band unsealed a form and had both Haku and Zabuza sign off on it
"One more thing, I want Haku to take my sword. She's the best person to use it outside of me and I know she'll be better at using it than I will." Zabuza said
"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you, master Zabuza." Haku said
"Don't call me that. Just call me dad once before I die." Zabuza said as his eyes started to fade
"I'll keep your dream alive and grow strong and happy, dad." Haku said
"Thank you, Haku." Zabuza said as the life left his eyes and Haku started crying
"Hey! Don't forget about us! We're gonna kill you all!" A goon said and the rest of them ran full speed towards the shinobi
Fire style: Majestic Destroyer flame
Without going through any hand signs, Naruto blew a huge wave of fire at the rest of the goons and the flames were so hot that they were all killed instantly without a surviving chance. The bridge smelled like burnt flesh and it made the genin all run to the edge of the bridge and throw up. Naruto saw Inari and the rest of the villagers standing at the end of the bridge with weapons and he remembered what he said he was gonna do once he killed Gato. He walked over to Gato's body and gathered some blood on his hands. He walked to Inari and wiped his blood all over him and walked away.
The villagers didn't even seem to care that he just did that. To them, he was their hero and they all started to cheer and celebrate the end of Gato's reign. Naruto found Gato's hideout and then raided the place with the help of a couple hundred shadow clones. He freed women and children that were chained up. He found food stored away, clothes, family belongings and he even found all of Gato's money. Gato kept all of his money in one huge safe and Naruto just sealed it away and went back to the center of the village.
He was met with cheers and lots of hugs from women, which irked Hinata since she thought Naruto was for her and her only. Once he made it to the center of the village with everyone he rescued and all of his shadow clones, he unsealed the giant safe and used a wind chakra enhanced kunai to cut the safe open. Once the safe was open, there was enough money to get wave back on its feet and plenty more left where that came from. The people of wave had a party that lasted all day and night, celebrating the rebirth of their country as they called it.
The rest of the week they were there was spent watching over Tazuna as he was finishing the bridge. Everyday Naruto would visit Zabuza's grave with Haku and they would stand there in silence. He respected Zabuza more than he did before after he fought until the end on the bridge. Haku told him the real reason he was made a rogue ninja in kiri and it was an honorable thing to do. Zabuza wanted to end the civil war between Yagura the fourth mizukage and his loyalist and the rebels. Zabuza failed in his attempt to kill him and had to flee the country. He's been doing jobs to raise money for the rebels that were being led by a woman named Mei Terumi.
Currently Naruto was walking ahead of his team on their way back to konoha. He honestly was close to just going rogue right now due to his team constantly getting on his nerves. It was mainly Narumi, Menma, Kiba, Sasuke and Hinata. Menma and Narumi were being their usual annoying selves going on about being the strongest because they were the hokages children. Kiba is always being loud and brash constantly trying to fight him. Hinata kept stalking him everytime he left the house and Sasuke kept bugging him about his sharingan and Naruto told him he was just seeing things.
"What do you want?" Naruto asked as Hinata walked up to him
"O-Oh I was um j-just wondering if you're um okay." Hinata said
"I'm fine." Naruto said and went through handsigns
Summoning jutsu
"Yo Naruto what do you need?" A giant Falcon with red tips on its wings said
"Sokudo, I need you to take me somewhere. It's about 75 miles north of the old whirlpool country." Naruto said
"Naruto, that's the forbidden island." Kurenai said
"I know." Naruto said
"Why are you going there?" Kakashi asked
"Clan business." Naruto said
"Go ahead Naruto." Kushina said
"You can't send a genin on a mission to a forbidden island!" Kakashi said
"That's why I'm not sending a genin. I'm sending the current clan heir out on an errand for clan purposes." Kushina said
"I'm telling dad!" Narumi said
"Go ahead. He can't interfere in clan business. We might be married, but it's illegal for the hokage to interfere in clan business that doesn't warrant a threat to Konoha." Kushina said
"You're only doing that because you feel sorry for that loser! If it was up to me I'd kill him right now! Nobody even wants him around!" Menma said, Narumi agreed with him and then a kunai went straight through his shoulder
"Then kill me. I dare you to try. Once I'm done with you this time not even your healing ability from the nine tails can save your ninja career." Naruto said in a cold tone
"Naruto! What the hell is your problem?!" Kakashi said
"The damn village is my problem. Everyone who breathes in that village is my problem. You all talk and preach about how the leaf village is a village of love and friendship, yet you all turn a blind eye to the people who are constantly outcasted by the village and those less fortunate. This is a village built on lies and deceit. Secrets that could very well ruin everyone's perspective on this village. Let's go, Sokudo." Naruto said as he hopped on the large falcon and flew away
"We need to go after him." Kakashi said
"No we don't. He's bringing something back for me so he'll return in a few days or so." Kushina said
"You sound certain that he'll return." Kurenai said
"Oh he will." Kushina said
"How do you know?" Sakura asked
"Because if he doesn't then I'll just hunt him down and kick his ass all the way back to Konoha." Kushina said
"What about what he did to Menma?!" Narumi asked
"He's already getting suspended for attacking Inari with a genjutsu. He'll be suspended for the maximum 90 days 60 for attacking Inari and then another 30 for attacking Menma." Kakashi said
"He should be terminated as a ninja." Kiba said
"Wow Kiba I didn't know someone with your thinking capabilities could use such a strong and big word." Sakura said
"Shut up you stupid fangirl!" Kiba said
"I guess that makes you a fanboy since you're always trying to get Hinata's attention. Isn't that ironic." Sakura said
"You bitch!" Kiba said and launched himself at Sakura, but was stopped by Kurenai
"Kiba, need I remind you that attacking a member of your team garners a suspension. I highly doubt you'd want your mom to find out you were suspended for attacking a fellow kunoichi." Kurenai said and Kiba paled and calmed down instantly
"HOW DOES HE HAVE THE SHARINGAN?" Sasuke yelled
"He doesn't. It's a simple genjutsu he uses in his eyes. He does it to mess with people and he did it to me before. Guessing by Itachi's dismissal of it, I guess he pulled the same trick on him before." Kushina said
"She's right. He's an Uzumaki and Namikaze. It's impossible for him to have the sharingan unless it was implanted like Kakashi's." Kurenai said
"My bugs around the area didn't sense any genjutsu coming from him or around that area." Shino said
"That's because he can cast a genjutsu without it being detected unless you're proficient in genjutsu. Kurenai was too shocked to realize it was a genjutsu and I only knew it was one because he's done it to me before like I already told you." Kushina said and Shino nodded
"Alright enough about Naruto. We don't have a civilian with us so we should make it back to the village in about 2 or 3 days depending on how much we have to stop. Let's get moving." Kakashi said
Forgotten Island
Naruto reached the forgotten island and it looks like a normal island. He walked around and once he got deeper into the island, he saw why it was called the forbidden island. There were dead animal bodies everywhere and some human remains as well. It looked like something huge was on the island and was feasting on whatever it came across. He found a nice little area to camp at and set up a seal that would keep anything from coming near him.
Hours went by and he started to cook him some dinner. He felt his seal working as the smell of his food was attracting the wild life in the area and they would always be repelled by his seal. He stopped cooking when he felt a chakra signature coming near him that got through the barrier somehow. He looked up and saw a girl who had dark eyes and long, straight red hair which she wore with a white band. She also wore a purple, sleeveless kimono blouse with yellow trimmings held close by a traditional obi with a long, streaming bow tied to it, mesh armour underneath it and a short white skirt.
"Who are you and why are you here?" She asked
"I'm Naruto Uzumaki. I'm looking for Honoka Uzumaki." Naruto said
"Why?" She asked
"Because the clan head, my mother Kushina Uzumaki, is looking for the remaining Uzumaki alive and the girl I'm looking for is one of them. We found the rest of the Uzumaki scrolls in Uzushiogakure and besides me, my mom and her other two children, there are 3 more Uzumaki alive." Naruto said
"I thought Uzumaki only had red hair. You are half blonde and half red." She said
"I'm only half Uzumaki from my mother. My genes are both dominant and it shows in my hair that neither has won I guess you can say." Naruto said
"Prove that you're an Uzumaki." She said and Naruto activated his chakra chains
"Is this enough proof?" He asked
"How did you find me?" She asked
"Technically you found me. However, on the scroll that belongs to the clan head, there's a seal that lets the leader know where all Uzumaki are located since at birth each Uzumaki is supposed to be marked with some sort of tracking seal that would allow the clan head to know where they are or if they are alive still. It showed on the scroll that you sent out a distress signal recently and I came here to take you to Konoha to live there with the other Uzumaki we currently have." Naruto said
"That's nice, but I can't leave this island or everyone will be in danger." She said
"Why's that?" Naruto asked
"I have been here all my life with scientists who were trying to create the ultimate summoning beast. I was kept here and not allowed to leave because of my skills in sealing and my ability to use the Adementine chains. I was responsible for subduing the beast whenever it got out of control during the experimentation and I was in charge of sealing it away." She said
"What happened here? Why did I see so many bodies everywhere?" Naruto asked
"The dead bodies you see everywhere came from the beast going on a rampage and killing everything in its path including the scientists who created it. I'm the last person alive on this island and the distress signal was for anyone who would respond to it. I guess you're the only person who got the signal and came to help. If you want me to come back to Konoha with you I can do that, but we must stop the beast before we leave." She said
"Well, where is the beast now?" Naruto asked
"It's currently resting right now. I have it sealed away." She said
"Then tomorrow the beast dies. For now, you can stay here with me if you'd like." Naruto offered
"I must get back to the beast. Only I can keep it secured until morning." She said
"It's going to die tomorrow anyway. It's no point in keeping an eye on it. I can feel it's power all the way over here and it's not going to be an easy fight. Just rest up for now. You look like you can use a nice meal and some sleep." Naruto said
"I guess you're right. I hope you're strong enough to help me defeat it." She said as Naruto gave her some food
"I am. There's not many people in my village who can defeat me." Naruto said
"Sounds like you're a bit cocky." She said
"I'm not. It's the truth there's only a handful of people in my village who can defeat me." Naruto said
"Who are they?" She asked
"My mom, the current hokage, Jiraiya, Tsunade, the current anbu captain and maybe Kakashi." Naruto said
"What rank are you?" She asked
"I'm a genin." Naruto said
"Yet you claim there are only a handful of people who can actually defeat you. Excuse me, but I think you're lying about your strength." She said as she finished eating
"I'll just have to show you that I'm not lying tomorrow then." Naruto said
"Where will I sleep?" She asked
"You've never been camping or anything?" Naruto asked
"No. The only time I was allowed outside before everyone died was when the beast would escape and go on a rampage." She said
"You can sleep in the tent I have set up. It has a few seals inside of it that contain everything you need. It has a seal that will adjust the temperature accordingly automatically during the night." Naruto said
"Where will you sleep?" She asked
"I have an extra sleeping bag I can use." Naruto said
"Then I guess I'll see you in the morning." She said and went inside the tent
"Yeah. I'll see you in the morning." Naruto said
Next day
"I hope you're ready." Honoka said
"I am." Naruto responded
They went to the laboratory where the summoning beast was held and once it sensed their chakra, it woke up and started to thrash about. Naruto got a good look at the beast and was skeptical about it being as dangerous as she made it seem. It resembled a regular pupa with a large body mass and tentacles and small arms. That's when he knew that the beast wasn't fully grown yet and had to jump out of the way from one of the tentacles that was coming at him.
"This is the ultimate summoning beast?" Naruto asked
"Yes and it's already at full power." Honoka said
"No, it's not." Naruto said
"What do you mean?" Honoka asked
"It's not in its final form yet. It's still in its pupa state and I believe it's close to transforming to its final form. This is just the beginning." Naruto said
"It feeds off of the other summoning animals on the island. No matter how much it consumes, the only thing it knows is to devour everything." Honoka said as she jumped out of the way
"Not such a great ultimate summoning beast then is it?" Naruto said
"They designed it to be used against shinobi, so we need to stay alert." Honoka said
Lighting style: Binding chains
Naruto created chains of lighting and used them to wrap around the beast and electrocute it. The beast fell down and then started thrashing about. Naruto and Honoka looked on as the lightning chakra was being absorbed into the beast. The beast let out a screeching roar and released a huge amount of lightning chakra from its body and covered the entire floor. It almost caught Honoka, but Naruto managed to move her out of the way in time.
"It absorbed my lighting chains." Naruto said surprised
"That's how it was designed. I knew it could absorb chakra, but I didn't know it could release it as well." Honoka said
She tried to use a sealing jutsu but it didn't work. She ran at the beast and tried to kick it, but the beast opened its eyes and it looked like it had some kind of doujutsu to Naruto. He saw Honoka freeze in the air and Naruto realized what just happened.
"It can use genjutsu as well." He said
He activated his sharingan and jumped up to get Honoka out of the way. Once he grabbed her, they were swatted out of the air by the creature's hand that sent them down towards the ground. Naruto used his momentum and flipped in the air landing on the ground safely. He looked up at the beast and casted a sharingan genjutsu on it and the beast was stunned momentarily, giving Honoka and Naruto an opening and they both kicked the beast into the wall with chakra enhanced kicks.
"I can't believe that thing can use genjutsu as well." Honoka said
"Those scientists somehow managed to develop some kind of doujutsu for it on accident so the slightest eye contact and it has you in a genjutsu." Naruto said
The beast roared again and grew a horn made of lighting out of its head. It looked around and once it spotted Naruto and Honoka, it released the lighting chakra in the shape of some kind of beam that was destroying the ground as it sped towards them. Naruto saw this and went through hand signs for one of his jutsus.
Wind style: Wind dome jutsu
The air around them became visible and surrounded them while spinning in all directions canceling out the lighting attack the beast used. Honoka decided to capitalize on Naruto's jutsu and used it offensively.
Wind style: Air slashing blades
Blades of wind started to fly off of Naruto's defensive jutsu making it the perfect offensive and defensive attack. The blades flew at the beast with plenty of speed and began to give noticeable cuts onto the beast and they watched as it roared out in pain and fell to the ground. Naruto dropped the shield and gave a chakra enhanced punch to the beast, sending it out of the lab towards the open area which led to a volcano. They thought they won, but to their surprise, the beast grew wings and started to fly.
"Great, it grew wings." Naruto said
"We need to stop it. We can't let it off of the island!" Honoka said
They ran out of the laboratory and the beast flapped its wings hard and created a strong gust of wind that forced them to anchor themselves to the ground with their chakra chains. The beast started to fly up into the sky to escape, but a giant summoning bird came, along with other summoning creatures and started attacking the summoning beast. Honoka used her chakra chains to hold it still and Naruto activated his ultimate wind jutsu.
Wind style: Holy rotating Wind blades
A tornado formed from the ground and around the outside if you looked close enough, there were multiple blades of wind. Naruto sent the tornado at the summoning beast and he watched as the tornado carried the beast up into the air. He closed his fist and the blades that were outside of the tornado, went inside and started cutting up the beast who was screeching out in pain and agony.
The tornado turned into a bloody typhoon and that's when Naruto canceled the jutsu and watched as the blood and guts from the summoning creature fell into the lava of the volcano. Naruto fell down to his knees breathing hard Honoka and the other summoning creatures on the island all went over to him. The creatures all screeched at him before leaving.
"That was some jutsu you used." Honoka said
"I know. It's finished, but I don't have the chakra control to do it without collapsing down to my knees after it's done." Naruto said and Honoka helped him stand up
"At Least you pulled it off today. Now, I assume you have a way off of this island. The scientists didn't have anyway of leaving the island once they came over here." Honoka said
"I do. But can we just relax for a few days? I came here literally after completing an A ranked mission." Naruto said
"I guess I can do that. It gives me time to seal everything up from our research and properly dispose of it. I don't want anybody getting their hands on this stuff." Honoka said
Few days later
"Ready to go?" Naruto asked
"I guess." Honoka said nervously
"Don't worry. You'll be practically treated like royalty in the village. Uzumaki's are worshiped in the village, except for me." Naruto said
"Why aren't you treated like the others?" Honoka asked
"I can't tell you. Not until you become an official citizen or shinobi of Konoha." Naruto said
"I can agree with that. Hopefully it gets better for you." Honoka said
"It will in a few months. I'm leaving the village and I'm not coming back." Naruto said
"Where are you going?" Honoka asked
"A different dimension. Don't ask." Naruto said seeing the confused look on her face
"So, how are we getting out of here?" Honoka asked and Naruto bit his thumb and went through handsigns
Summoning jutsu
"Yo Naruto. Where are we going this time?" Sokudo asked
"About 2 miles from Konoha. I don't need them knowing about the summoning contract yet." Naruto said
"Sure hop on." Sokudo said
Naruto hopped on Sokudo with Honoka and Sokudo flew off faster than Honoka expected. She started screaming and was holding onto Naruto like her life depended on it. Naruto just shook his head in amusement at this. She can fight an ultimate summoning beast, but is afraid of flying in a gigantic bird.
Land of fire
They flew for a couple of hours before reaching their destination and honestly could've been there earlier, but Honoka asked Sokudo if he could fly slower for her.
"Alright, this is where you get off at. It's been a pleasure flying you around lady Honoka. Please leave a review and any recommendations to the clan leader about your ride." Sokudo said and disappeared in a cloud of smoke
"Is he serious?" Honoka asked
"Yeah. He takes his job very serious and is open to any recommendation to make flying safer on his part." Naruto said
"Nice to know he cares about my safety." Honoka said
"Well, let's get going. We've got two miles until we get to Konoha." Naruto said and then a seal appeared on Honoka's hand
"I guess your mom activated the seal to track all Uzumaki clan members. My seal is getting warm so she's close by." Honoka said
"Well, let's go then." Naruto said
They took off into the trees and figured they could make it to Konoha without having to make any stops. They talked a bit along the way getting to know each other a bit better. The gates of Konoha came into view after a few hours of tree hopping and Naruto saw Minato, Kushina, team 7, Haku and Kakashi standing there along with the elders of the village. Naruto signaled to Honoka to land and they did.
"Is this her?" Kushina asked
"Yeah it's her." Naruto said
"I'm Kushina Uzumaki. The current leader of the Uzumaki clan. Nice to meet you." Kushina said
"The honor is all mine, Lady Kushina." Honoka said
"Just call me Kushina. So, how was the trip?" Kushina asked
"Terrifying." Honoka said and Naruto snickered
"As much as I would love to hear about your trip, we have much more important matters to discuss. Genin Naruto Uzumaki, front and center please." Minato said
"I'm literally standing in front of you. Just get the damn suspension over with. I'm tired and want to go home." Naruto said
"You will be suspended for 90 days. However I've added more on to your punishment. Your punishment on top of the 90 day suspension, is that you must do 100 D-rank missions before the chunin exams if you wish to participate. You will also be monitored by an anbu during each of these missions." Minato said and gave him a list of all the D-rank missions he needed to do
"You better have more than one anbu watch me." Naruto said
"You're just a genin. A simple anbu can watch you just fine." An elder known as Koharu said
"It is true that I'm a genin. However, I am a genin with the chakra reserves that most people dream they have." Naruto said and created 100 clones
"Whoa." Honoka said and Kushina was laughing her ass of right now
"Each of you pick a D-rank mission and go complete it. If anybody gives you a problem, you have my permission to kick their ass after you complete the mission." Naruto said and his clones all saluted before selecting a mission and leaving
"Ok, I guess I'll be stuck in the office all night again." Minato mumbled
"Onto more important matters. Sasuke Uchiha here claims you have the sharingan. Is this true?" The other elder Homura asked
"No. It was a simple genjutsu that I created while I was training as a kid." Naruto said
"You're lying. Show us the sharingan." Danzo said
"What are you gonna do if I don't? It would be a shame if you were to lose your other eye. I know the other one doesn't work as well as it's supposed to." Naruto said and Kushina saw Danzo actually have a worried look on his face
"Naruto, please. Just show us whether you have the sharingan or not. Kakashi, prepare your sharingan to check if it's really a genjutsu." Minato said
Kakashi got his Sharingan ready and looked directly at Naruto. Naruto just sighed and used his genjutsu that made it look like he had the sharingan. Kakashi instantly knew it was a genjutsu and broke it revealing Naruto's normal eye color. What they didn't know was that Naruto created a seal and placed it on his temple that reacts to a small undetectable amount of chakra and prevents his sharingan from activating. The good this is that his seal can't be seen by the sharingan or Byakugan.
"It's a genjutsu." Kakashi said and lowered his headband
"Told you." Naruto said
"Now, we have a member claiming to be part of the Uzumaki clan." Minato said and Naruto interrupted him
"She's not claiming. She's part of the Uzumaki clan and is a full blooded Uzumaki. She can use the chakra chains only an Uzumaki can use so she's not claiming anything." Naruto said
"Right. She'll have to go through a probationary period to test her loyalty. Where exactly did you come from?" Minato asked
"The forbidden island." Honoka said
"Why were you there?" Minato asked
"I was there after the Uzumaki clan was destroyed. My parents made it out of Uzushiogakure before the attack and gave birth to me a few years later. So I'm still fairly young, I'm only 23 years old. I was stuck on that island after my parents died protecting me leaving me all of their notes on sealing and abilities of the Uzumaki clan. Some scientists found me and took me to the forbidden island with them to help create the ultimate summoning creature." Honoka said
"Ultimate summoning creature? Where is it now?" Danzo asked
"It's dead. Me and Naruto killed it before we left the island." Honoka said
"Then we must go to the island and grab any notes that were left behind." Danzo said
"You can't. We destroyed everything thoroughly and made sure of it. We spent a few day destroying everything and properly getting rid of it." Honoka said
"Looks like you're out of luck, Danzo. I made sure to dispose of everything. We wouldn't want somebody using that against us, would we?" Naruto asked with a smirk
"I guess we wouldn't." Danzo said through gritted teeth
"Honoka, after your probation you'll have the option to become a ninja or stay a civilian. You don't have to worry about the CRA since you're a part of the Uzumaki clan. You'll be monitored along with Haku Yuki Uzumaki, who was adopted into the Uzumaki clan by Kushina. You both will be under 90 day probation and any crimes committed during the 90 days will result in either jail time or you will be kicked out of the village. Any questions?" Minato asked
"Where will I be staying?" Honoka asked
"Along with Haku, you will be staying in my house with your own room. There was an anonymous purchase of land for the Uzumaki clan that went through, so there will be a clan compound built for you." Minato said
"Who bought the land?" Homura asked
"I don't know. I'll allow it though since it's for one of the founding clans of Konoha. Now, everyone can return to their duties or whatever it was that you were doing before meeting here." Minato said and flashed away
"Haku, Honoka come with me." Kushina said and left with them
"Menma, wanna go grab some ramen?" Narumi asked holding her fathers wallet
"Oh yeah!" Menma said and they ran off and Sasuke just walked away as did two of the elders and Naruto just walked up to Danzo
"If you send any of your little root anbu after them or any Uzumaki clan members, Itachi won't be the only person you have to worry about." Naruto said
"Do not threaten me boy, it won't end well for you." Danzo said
"It's not a threat but a promise. I know what you did after the Uchiha massacre. Hope the eyes are worth it? You wouldn't want Tsunade to find out about that arm of yours, would you?" Naruto asked as he placed his hand on Danzo's covered arm and sent a pulse of chakra through it making Danzo grunt in pain
"You're playing a dangerous game boy." Danzo said
"Don't worry your secret is safe with me. It's a shame that you couldn't get the eyes you wanted. I guess a wind jutsu gone wrong can save someone's life." Naruto said
"It was you." Danzo said and now he was pissed off
"I don't know what you mean. Know this, you may have more eyes than me, but mine will always be able to see better than yours." Naruto said and activated his sharingan for a split second and Danzo left quickly
"Umm, Naruto? Can I talk to you?" Sakura asked looking at the ground
"Why?" Naruto asked
"I need help and your mom said I should come to you." Sakura said and Naruto mumbled something about playing the mom card
"What do you want?" Naruto asked
"I'm sorry about what happened back in the academy. I was dumb enough to listen to my mother and ruin our friendship to chase after a boy who doesn't even like me. I'm trying to train more, but I want to start learning medical ninjutsu again. Your mom said that you basically have all the notes lady Tsunade wrote for her apprentice, Shizune. Can you help me, please? I won't bother you after this I promise." Sakura begged
"Well it's nice to see that you're finally getting serious about training again. As for the stuff in the academy, it's water under the bridge. I don't really care about that since it wasn't to the point like everyone else. Yeah, you called me a loser, but that's as far you went really. Now, I have some notes from Shizune that she used, but it's not much. I only have the basic notes that you can use. Since I'm suspended for 90 days, everyday after team training I'll meet you there and you can study the notes I have." Naruto said and was brought into a bone crushing hug from Sakura
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She said and dropped him before running away
"This will be an interesting 3 months. Next up is the chunin exams and then I'll finally be able to leave this place." Naruto said and vanished.
