Elder's Hall
This is a large building in Spirit City, second only to the Pope's Palace, and it represents the most formidable power within the entire Spirit Palace.
Upon entering the tall domed building, you will encounter a spacious hall. The hollow dome is nearly ten feet high and is divided into four floors. The first floor lacks rooms, but from the second floor onwards, there are ten rooms on each level.
Under extraordinary circumstances, only individuals with a soul power level of 90 or above and possessing the strength of a titled Douluo are eligible to reside there.
It serves as the supreme authority of Spirit Palace, and even Pope Qian Xunji is subject to its restrictions.
In essence, it all boils down to strength.
Particularly noteworthy are the seven worshippers residing on the top floor.
Each one surpasses the Pope in strength.
These are all super Douluo, some even reaching the pinnacle of Douluo, and ultimate Douluo with a soul power level of at least ninety-six.
At this moment, the Elder's Hall was silent.
The guards were nowhere to be found.
As Qin Xuan stepped into the vast hall, his heart suddenly trembled, and the hair on his body stood on end. Simultaneously, the martial soul within him felt a pull from some force, resonating with the two figures in front of him whose auras surpassed even Qian Xunji's.
They stood at the innermost part of the massive hall.
Seven figures stood before a seraph statue towering over ten meters high. Their backs faced the entrance, hands clasped together in prayer, and eyes shut in reverence toward the seraphim statue.
Observing from behind, all seven were men, adorned in unique golden armor, each with distinct colors for their inner robes and cloaks.
The central figure was taller but not imposing. His shoulder armor took the shape of a seraph, with dark blue inner robes and cloak. Long blond hair was neatly combed and spread around his head.
He exuded an unusual aura.
It was as if the sunlight streaming in from the vast windows focused solely on him.
Just by standing there, his figure appeared infinitely magnified, making him the focal point of the Elder's Hall. Even the imposing old man on his left, whose shoulder armor resembled an arrogant crocodile, was overshadowed.
A sense of reverence emanated from him.
"Qin Xuan pays respects to the two teachers and the five worshippers."
Qin Xuan took a step forward. Although he no longer knelt, he respectfully bowed on one knee to the seven individuals.
The seven showed no intention of turning around, continuing to gaze silently at the colossal seraph statue.
After a while.
The man in the middle opened his eyes and turned around slowly. He appeared to be in his thirties or forties, bearing a resemblance to Qian Xunji but exuding a far superior aura. A faint smile adorned his face, and his presence was calm and tranquil, creating a comfortable atmosphere.
He was Qian Daoliu, the grand enshrinement of Spirit Palace, the ultimate Douluo at the ninety-ninth level.
The other six deliberately slowed their movements. After devoutly bowing to the Seraphim statue, they turned to face Qin Xuan.
"Rise!" Qian Daoliu commanded, using a touch of gentle soul power to lift Qin Xuan to his feet.
"Thank you for your gracious reception," Qin Xuan said, feeling a bit flattered. He hadn't interacted much with Qian Daoliu, only meeting him more than a year ago when he was Qian Xunji's apprentice.
Qian Daoliu, however, used his soul power to help him stand, a gesture normally reserved for the Six Great Enshrinements and the future Qian Renxue.
"Xuan, Ji'er mentioned that you plan to visit the Slaughter City for experience, and he highly praised your recent performance, strongly supporting the idea," Qian Daoliu inquired gently, maintaining his regal demeanor. "What is your decision?"
"Qin Xuan is willing to go," Qin Xuan replied resolutely.
Internally, he sneered. Qian Xunji, that old man, must really want to die. Not a word about the promise to marry Bibi Dong.
If the system were not activated, Qin Xuan would find ways to tactfully decline. Delaying was also an option.
But now, with fairy grass, [Phoenix Fire] to ward off miasma in the Spirit City, and Zongheng Sword Technique and Ghost Valley Breathing Technique to mitigate damage, there was no reason to hesitate.
Staying in Spirit Hall would only make him a thorn in Qian Xunji's side.
"Oh, what a fool," Qian Daoliu sighed.
As the saying goes, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Qian Daoliu knew all too well about Qian Xunji's shortcomings, his vices, and his sinister intentions.
As the Pope of Spirit Palace, over fifty years old and still unmarried, Qian Xunji hadn't even begun to expand the angel clan.
On one hand, his high standards deemed common and vulgar women unworthy to bear the blood of the angel family.
This somewhat mirrored Qian Daoliu's views, who didn't father Qian Xunji until he was seventy. It was just not as extreme as Qian Xunji's stance.
On the other hand, there was Bibi Dong. Possessing the Death Spider Emperor and the Soul-Eating Spider Emperor, she was not only brimming with innate soul power but also a breathtaking beauty, unparalleled on the Douluo Continent.
From the moment Qian Xunji accepted Bibi Dong as his disciple, Qian Daoliu noticed the change in his eyes.
Greed and Desire.
Although well hidden, a father could not be deceived.
Those eyes weren't what one has for disciples or juniors but the eyes one has for it's prey.
Qian Daoliu turned a blind eye, thinking that if Qian Xunji could make Bibi Dong fall in love with him one day, it might be good for his clan.
Perhaps a quasi-angel god could be born for the angel family, which is why he had not stopped Qian Xuji and his plans.
From this, Qian Daoliu's character flaws were fully exposed.
