**Olivia's POV**
"Just know that it's going to sting… a lot." The other lady smirked and I gasped.
"Come on, Candice. You don't have to make her feel scared." The doctor folded her hands.
"I'm not trying to make her feel scared, Susan. I'm only stating the facts. Suppressants hurt a lot." She chuckled.
Suppressants? What were they giving me suppressants for? I looked at the doctor with a panic stricken face. She sighed.
"Don't be scared, okay? This is for your own good. You're a Stealer wolf, and it would be dangerous for you to roam about, since all the unmated and widowed wolves are after you. With this suppressant, we'd be able to cage that stealer wolf in you and make your scent unperceivable for them. I hope you understand what I mean?" She asked and I nodded.
"Can't she talk, or is she too terrified to speak?" Candice asked, and I lowered my head.
"She's a mute." The doctor replied and took the syringe.
"What!" Candice burst out laughing.
The doctor hit her and glared at her. She laughed and went to sit down in a corner in the ward.
"It's going to sting a little bit, okay?" The doctor smiled and I nodded.
She took the syringe and I closed my eyes, waiting for the sting. It came in contact with my skin, and before I knew it, the sting came. I shut my eyes tight and bit my lip to suppress a wince.
"Done. You're a strong lady," She pinched my cheek fondly and I smiled. At least the doctor was nice to me. "I'll be right back." She said and walked out of the ward.
I looked around the ward and my eyes met with that of Candice. She stood up and walked up to me.
"So, what relationship do you have with the Alpha? Are you his sister or his cousin? Maybe his niece?" She asked and I frowned.
I knew she was purposely trying to mock me.
She laughed. "Oh, I forgot. You are dumb," She burst out laughing. I bawled my fist, wishing I could just tear her into pieces. I would have taught her a lesson but considering my situation, she might just cook up a terrible lie about me and get me punished or worse, killed.
She closed the space between us and held my chin roughly. "Even though you're dumb, I'm sure you aren't deaf. Listen carefully, the Alpha is mine and would forever be mine. You better take your eyes away from him, else I won't hesitate to paralyze you. At least, paralysis would go with your dumbness," She threatened and moved back, still looking at me. "And wait… did you think he cared about you by giving you a suppressant? Don't be so ahead of yourself, darling. The Alpha would never love a liability for you." She snapped and laughed before walking out.
I didn't know when tears started rolling down my cheeks. I quickly wiped them the moment the door opened, and the doctor stuck her head in.
"Olivia, you can go now. Don't worry about anything, the wolves won't take you," She said, and I nodded.
I got down and walked out of the hospital. I was still conscious about the wolves, but when I walked past them, they stayed put and did nothing to me. Sighing in relief, I hurriedly made my way to the palace, where I met the Alpha.
He gestured and I walked up to him. He still had that icy gaze on, forcing me to lower my head.
"Now that you're no longer a distraction to wolves, you can stay in this Palace. You're going to be kept here as my slave to serve me, if you know what I mean. You're to work in my room and get things done quickly because I hate slow paced work. And oh, you'll be training with the female warriors as well. They're meeting there today, so you should go, but that would be after you take care of my needs,"
I looked up and nodded. "Follow me," He said and started walking away. We alighted the stairs and took other stairs to the second floor, where his chamber was located. When we got there, he opened the door and I walked in. The room looked magnificent and spotless.
"This is where you're to work every day. Now, go into the kitchen and prepare something for me to eat. Make it tasty, or you might add deafness to your dumbness." He scoffed and my heart broke.
I strode to the kitchen and looked through the menu there. Turns out, he had a timetable for his everyday meal. Tuesday, which is today, he'd be eating Pasta and tomato sauce with salad.
I sighed. I can do that.
I got to work immediately and was done cooking in no time. I arranged everything in a tray and walked to the living room, where he sat attending to some files. I couldn't talk, so I cleared my throat to draw his attention.
He turned and gestured for me to place it on the table, which I did.
He stood up and walked up to me, opened the food and returned his gaze to me. "Taste it," He ordered, and I blinked.
"What? Are you scared? Were you trying to poison me?" He asked and I quickly shook my head.
"Taste it then," He folded his hands.
I rushed to the kitchen, picked up a fork and returned to the food. He shifted it close to me and I tasted it.
"Take another one," He ordered, and I obliged. When I was done, he made me wait for five minutes. "You can go to the training ground now."
I bowed and walked out. Why on Earth would he think that I'd poison him? Was I that bad?
"Olivia,"
I stopped in my tracks. I know that voice anywhere. When I turned, my father quickly rushed to me. He tried to touch me, but I moved back.
"Come on, Olivia. Don't be like this. I'm your father," He said, and I scoffed. After everything he did to me, he still has the heart to call himself my father? "I know you've always wanted to make me proud, so I need your help with something urgent," He said, and I facepalmed.
I should have seen this coming. With folded hands, I made a sign asking what he wanted. He looked both ways and gestured for me to come closer. When I did, he whispered into my ears.
"We need you to poison Alpha Devon and lock his wolf." He dropped the bomb and my eyes widened.
What the heck!
