"It's getting quite cold, we should probably go".
Tallulah said looking away as she sat upright obviously avoiding the kiss.
Mateo got down from the car and rounded the side to help her get down too.
She mouthed a "thank you" as she came down and rushed to open the car door which they both happened to hold at the same time.
She quickly let the handle go and Mateo opened the door for her.
The drive back to the mansion was a long one. Neither Mateo nor Tallulah spoke and it was really getting awkward.
They would, at some point, steal glances at eachother but neither spoke. It remained this way for a while and soon, they reached the mansion.
"Is there anything you'd like to get tomorrow?". Mateo asked as he drove into the drive way.
"No, thank you. I'm good". She said and quickly got down from the car immediately he stopped the car
She walked inside briskly leaving Mateo in the car.
Tallulah quickly walked up the stairs and then went to her room.
She entered the room and shut the door laying her back to it as she closed her eyes and sighed multiple times.
She opened her eyes and looked round the room. It was all clean.
"What would I do without Camille here?".
She asked going towards the bed and falling onto it with a thud.
Dark night, sitting under the moonlight, looking up the sky at the many stars.
Almost sharing a kiss.
"Oh my gosh!". Tallulah exclaimed sitting upright instantly.
"This is ridiculous".
She moved a strand of hair from her face.
"I need a glass of water".
She said climbing down the bed.
"I need to calm myself down".
Tallulah walked to the door and opened it stepping outside.
"Or maybe not".
She decided when she saw Mateo ascending the stair case.
She quickly entered her room and put the lock of her door in place.
Then decided to take a shower and go straight to bed.
Tallulah got out of her dress and walked into the bathroom.
As she stood under the shower, she let the cold water drench her whole body.
She just stood there thinking. Thinking alot about an almost kiss.
She ran a hand through her hair.
"Do I like him?".
The question itself surprised her.
"Why do I feel this way? I think I'll have to avoid him".
She told herself sternly and picked up a shower gel and brush.
Later, Tallulah walked out of the room and went over to the other room where Mateo had blow-dried her hair.
"Alright Lula".
She said to herself as she closed the door behind her and put on the lights.
She walked into the room and went straight to the bathroom. She checked the cabinets under the sink but could not find the blow dryer.
"Finally!". She sighed after a very long search, she found the blow dryer in a small cabinet at the corner.
She walked back into the room and instead of sitting in front of the mirror, she sat on the bed
She tried using the manual blow dryer on her hair but it was proving really hard.
After several moments of hard work, her hair was dry to a certain point that was okay for her.
"My hand's hurting".
She yawned.
"I'll nap just a little before I go back to my room".
She placed the dryer on the lamp stand and laid on the bed.
"Tallulah".
She heard her name and turned on the bed.
"Umm….".
She responded sleepily.
"Get up".
The husky male voice made her eyes flutter open immediately.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
"Mateo".
She called getting up from the bed in a haste.
"I was just...."
"What are you doing here?" He interrupted holding her shoulder.
"I just came to blow dry my hair".
"Who said you could touch anything in this room or even be in this room now?".
Tallulah saw anger in his eyes and was frightened.
"I'm..."
"I never want to see you in this room again, you did enough damage on the first day you got here".
Tallulah recalled the faithful night she hurt herself. She had damaged everything in that room and even ended up injuring herself.
Now she was confused. She thought her room was changed only because she had damaged everything in this room. But now…..
"I'm not meant to be here?".
"No!" Mateo yelled aggressively making Tallulah panick, tears welling up in her eyes.
"I'm sorry".
She said and he let go of her shoulder and stepped away from her.
"Plus you don't need to avoid me, I have no interest whatsoever in you".
He had seemed to say it calmly but Tallulah was perplexed so what about the almost kiss?
"It was a little misunderstanding back there. You know what I mean".
He replied as though he'd read her mind and known what she was thinking about.
Of course it is, she thought. She shook her head internally spiteful of Mateo's presence at the moment.
This man was heartless. So he was just being nice to her for the past few months because of what?
Of course he was just faking it.
Tears fell from Tallulah's left eye as she swallowed painfully and immediately walked away from him.
"Princess". He called. "I'm sorry".
She just opened the door and banged it close behind her as she ran to her room.
She fell onto her bed with a thud when she entered inside the room. Her heart ached and tears streamed down wetting her pillow.
Her hatred for Mateo resurfacing in full force.
The next day, Tallulah got dressed and went down the stairs but turned immediately she saw Mateo walk in from the front door.
She briskly walked up the stairs and went back to her room.
Suddenly, she heard a knock.
She was filled with rage and decided she was gonna give Mateo a piece of her mind not minding the consequences.
She opened the door in angry.
"Oh dear, you scared me".
Camille said bending a little while supporting her hands on her knees.
Tallulah's facial expression softened.
"I'm so sorry Camille. Please come in".
She stood aside and let Camille walk in then she closed the door and walked to the bathroom.
"What will you have for breakfast ma'lady?". Camille asked standing a distance from the door.
"I'm not sure, how about I assist you in the kitchen?". Tallulah asked from the bathroom.
Camille saw something white sticking out from under the bed and walked over
"I cleaned this place yesterday, did I miss this?".
She asked herself bending and picking up the paper.
She opened it and was surprised.
"Camille, did you hear me?". Tallulah asked coming out of the bathroom.
"What's that?".
Camille hid the paper in her apron pocket quickly as Tallulah walked over to her.
Camille gradually sat on the bed with a hand on her head.
"Are you okay?". Tallulah asked squatting Infront of Camille.
Camille shook her head. "No my dear".
"What's the matter? Do you feel sick? Are you hurt somewhere?"
Camille simply brought out a paper from her apron pocket and gave it to Tallulah.
Tallulah opened it.
"Grocery list?"
Camille nodded.
"I was hoping if you could go with Mateo to get them. I have a headache so I can't go".
"Sure Camille". Tallulah agreed getting up.
"But can't I go with a bodyguard or someone else?".
"Thank you Tallulah".
Camille said giving a smile.
"Please take rest here while I go with Enzo".
Tallulah smiled and walked out of the room. As she descended the stairs, Mateo came from his office.
"Where's the list?".
He asked as Tallulah reached the last step.
"What list?".
"Camille's list". Mateo replied in-between gritted teeth.
"You don't have to worry, I'll go get them with Enzo".
"I'm going out to get some air so I'll go".
"No, I have to go, I also need air to purify my breath from the awful atmosphere here".
"Fine, we'll both go".
"No, I won't go with you". Tallulah insisted.
"What is wrong with you? Why are you being hard headed?".
Tallulah didn't reply him but just walked away.
"Fine, I'm sorry".
Tallulah stopped in her tracks and slowly turned to Mateo.
Her brows arched. Did she just hear him apologize?.
Mateo Hernando apologizing?
Tallulah only nodded and turned walking out of the mansion.
It was already dark when Mateo and Tallulah came back.
Mateo got down from the car and so did Tallulah.
The atmosphere was fairly cold and Mateo used his jacket to cover Tallulah.
"It's fine. I'm okay".
Tallulah said rejecting the jacket.
"Princess, you have to take this, you're so cold".
Tallulah stared daggers at Mateo. He'd apologized again and she'd forgiven him in her heart but needed to be chic by not acting like it was okay.
He just held her hand and they both walked towards the front door.
"Sir, ma'am". The guard at the door greeted and gave a slight bow.
Tallulah and Mateo walked in and proceeded towards the stairs.
"Welcome Theo".
He stopped in his tracks and turned to the living room where the person with her back to them said then took a sip of her coffee.
She placed the cup back on the table and got up then turned to face them.
Mateo dropped Tallulah's hand immediately.
