Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Laila

Today was worse than usual. I had had enough with that curse thing. I really am tired of being the tour guide for the museum, but it doesn't make sense making me the Curator for the museum either, which was the original plan. It'll make people suspect me. And I don't want any paparazzi trouble, not yet. I know that it'll happen soon but for now I don't want to even think of the spot light.

Being a perfect princess sucks balls. Thank God I don't have that responsibility yet.

As I took off the navy blue heel that made my day worse, the thought of my Noinoi filled my head. She knew exactly what to do on days like this. She really was the best Nanny a girl could have. I sighed as I stripped my matching navy blue pantsuit.

I slumped on the bed and grabbed my phone off the night stand. Turning one of my favorites songs, Lost in yesterday by Tame Impala. Getting up, as I swayed my soul to the rythme, I got my room cleaned. Noinoi always said, to clean up after oneself was good for the soul and good for the partner, not that I had one or planned on getting one.

The shower was cool, good for the hot ass day today was. Almost immediately I slipped into a sports bra and shorts,There was a knock on the door

" Come in Lu!"

I knew it was Lulu, she always came in after I got back from work with cookies. She's trying her best to be the second Noinoi, but what's the point, she might be her daughter but we all can't be our mothers. Look at me for instance, I'm the complete opposite of my mother. Maybe not fully, I look exactly like her though.

" Cookies" she came in with a plate of chocolate chip cookies.

" I love you, you know that Lu" I said taking a cookie from the plate she had set on the night stand. Lu had been my best friend since. Well, since we were babies. We went everywhere and anywhere together. She was my only friend and I didn't mind. I remember when we were in high school people called us twins. But we looked so different. She's a 5'1 , she had a lot of boobage, and a small butt but she didn't mind, especially because she was fleshy, or so she called it. Her bob looked black but it wasn't,she was sort of a brownette ( what I call brown and black mixed). And she had a sepia eyes. But me on the other, I was a 5'5, I won't brag much but I know I'm classified as a figure 8. Slim in every way possible. My long ebony hair was my everything. I might be a total tomboy but I would never cut my hair short; trimming, sure, but not cutting. I had amber brown eyes. The only thing we physically had in common was our skin color. Our tawny skin was smooth and clear, which was normal I'm the princess, and we practically had the same skin treatment. . . . duh.

We talked for hours and hours about work and when Noinoi was here

"Guess what?" She asked all excited, with a broad smile.

"What?"

" Eddie's taking me to Jugó"

" Wait!that famous restaurant where most of their food is juiced?" I tried sounding excited. "Oh wow how romantic" I said flatly as I rolled my eyes.

" Oh come on, you know how people are rushing to go there. And that is THE PROPOSAL SPOT."

" Wait you think he's going to propose ?" The shock evident in my voice

" I hope so? We've been together 2 years, it might be possible." She shrugged. "I really can't wait. He sounded pretty nervous. And you know he doesn't get nervous." Her squill was so loud, I could hear it even after she was done.

Lu is pretty much a girly girl and me on the other hand, I'm more of a tomboy. We're opposite but whoever pointed that out got slapped.

"Well congrats in advance, I just hope he doesn't mess things up again." I hadn't fully trusted Eddie from the beginning, but I lost all hope when we caught him spill tea to the press about my family. But Lu trusts him, she's drunk in love. More like lust in love. She loves his dick more.

" He won't, he promised he was done leaking info to the press." She rolled her eyes.

" Okay." That came out dryly

" When you stop hating on Ed? He apologized, and he's cute!"

I sighed

" I'm not hating on him. He's walking okay, with all his limbs, right?" She nodded" You guys are still dating, right? And he's treating you right, isn't that right?"

" Yeah so right, but I always come home limping." She replied laughing

I rolled my eyes " You're a little slut you know that?"

"Awww thanks babe." We both laughed. We hardly got to spend time like this, by now she was usually gone. She usually just brings the cookies and has to go. But it's almost Christmas, most people for some reason look for jobs a lot then so they quit on Christmas Eve. And annoyingly most people want to work in the castle. She had enough free time till then.

" I still wonder sometimes." I said after a few seconds of silence. " I still wonder why mom didn't want you to have sex yet. She went all out with arrangements your first time. I know I helped her plan the whole thing but....." I trailed off.

I don't think people realize but we take our first time really serious here. So serious it's like an unspoken rule that we gotta loose it by 16.

" I know. But it's odd." She sighed

"Well, she said you would know when you were older. And to trust your mom".

I rolled my eyes. I love my parents but my mom is a pain in the butt crack some times. We've never seen eyes to eye even when I was a kid and she was always too busy with Queen stuff. The last time I trusted her with anything, I had to recreate my school project work, while looking for an identical bunny for my then roommate in college.

She's too much and she's gotten really klutzy and forgetful.

"I know what Noinoi said but I still am wondering why. It always baffles me." Almost immediately her phone goes.

"Sorry my times up. You should come down soon. It's almost time for dinner." She said getting the platter she brought." And trust mom. She always knew what was right" she said as she left.

I sighed as I picked out my favorite grey sweat shirt and slipped into my matching Crocs.

As I got downstairs, I stopped by the garden like I usually did and watched the sky darken a bit. Then I headed back to the dinning room, as usual my parents were seated waiting for me. I kissed my dad and greeted my mom.

" How was your day sweetheart?" My dad asked as I sat across my mom.

" It was terrible. I wonder why people won't shut up about that darn curse."

"Laila!" Mom warned

" What did I do wrong again ma?" I rolled my eyes. My dad immediately interrupts, holding my mom's hand

" I know you're definitely glad tomorrow is your last day."

" I am actually. I'm just wondering what I'm going to do next"

" Don't worry honey, you could help with the foundation till you find something else to do." Mom said. I actually wouldn't mind that but I'm hoping not permanently. I don't want to be stuck with it yet. There was silence as we ate, but then as I looked up I saw something odd. Mom's hand was shaking. Which was odd cause she was always so poised. She put her spoon down, she seemed agitated, and from her eyes I could see worry and fear. She looked up slightly and noticed me, and she smiled at me. Not her usual reach her eyes smile she gave me but her smile was the fake ones she would give when she was really unhappy but had to act all queenly and shit.Of late, mom and dad had been acting wired. Mom was wearing a lot of makeup and wig caps which she used to hate. And Dad is now taking over most of the duties mom had. Dad always avoided royal issues. I don't think he would get involved even if he was forced to. This is really odd.
