It felt like an eternity had passed before the doors to the operating room finally opened. During that time, Emma Hart had been silently praying for Damien Sterling's safety. No one knew how she managed to endure it.
Mr. Sterling Senior rushed forward immediately. "Doctor, how is he?"
His cloudy eyes were filled with worry, and he clutched the doctor's hand as if it were his last lifeline.
The doctor shook his head. "The situation isn't good. He recently had a car accident, but was discharged too soon. There's a blood clot pressing against the brain nerves. If he wakes up, there's a high chance he'll have amnesia. But if he doesn't wake up by tomorrow morning, he'll likely remain in a coma for life."
Mr. Sterling Senior staggered back a few steps, his deeply wrinkled face turning ashen as if he couldn't believe what he had just heard.
