Damien Sterling arrived home for dinner promptly at 8 PM, as usual. He hadn't seen Emma Hart all day and wondered how she was doing at home.
"Mr. Sterling, you're back!" Emma Hart greeted him enthusiastically at the door, taking his briefcase and helping him out of his suit jacket.
"What's gotten into you?" Damien Sterling asked, puzzled. First, a strange old man on the plane turned out to be his grandfather's close friend, and now his usually haughty wife was suddenly acting so considerate. Today was indeed full of surprises. Emma Hart felt a bit miffed. She was genuinely trying to be nice for once, and he had to go and make a sarcastic comment.
