Serena, you never really left the fashion house. She isn't going to give up, even if her ex-manager refuses to hire her.
After taking a bath, she proceeded to the kitchen where she discovered her stepsister preparing scrambled eggs.
"Sis, what's cooking this morning? I'm expected to carry that out." With a pout, Serena approached her.
"Oh please, I've started it already and no one says I can't cook." With a snort, Kylie carried on preparing.
"Your mother. Who knows if she would kick me out of my house if she found you here cooking instead of me." Serena chuckled.
"What's the major event? "Why do you look so put together this morning?" With excitement, Kylie enquired.
"I'm going to look for work," Serena answered.
"What work? I assumed you had gone the last time and you had not informed me of the outcome."
Sorry, Kylie. At the time, I was just enraged. Can you imagine that Ryan was the manager?" When she asked, Kylie was still confused.
"I don't get it. Do you mean your boyfriend, Ryan?" Surprisingly, Kylie asked.
"My ex."
"What? Did you break up as well and I was unaware of it? She questioned while gently gripping Serena's right hand.
"He broke up with me the same day I found out he was the manager and he was cheating on me with his fellow employee." With a dejected expression on her face, she spoke.
"I truly apologize, Serena. What an idiot he is. Did he tell you why, by the way?" Kylie enquired.
He said that he only ever desired me for my looks and that he had never truly loved me. He repeatedly asked to have sex, but I told him I wasn't ready. Recall that I previously informed you that he had stopped Ftreturning my calls. The thing that hurts me the most is that he brought my sketchbook to his workplace and pretended that it was his." Wiping her tears from her face, she said.
"Oh my! That idiot. I wish I could go there and take out his eyes and beat him up." She said, lovingly caressing her.
It's alright. Thanks Kylie for your concern. I just want the job back; I'm over him already. I'm genuinely interested in it." Serena smiled in order to make Kylie forget about it.
"Yet you continue to visit there? I believed he had rejected you." Twisting her lip, Kylie said.
"Yes, I am. Even though I was turned down the first time, I should still go there. In addition, I've always wanted to become a fashion designer." She said to check the pressure cooker's pot.
"Go look at another clothing brand. Since Ryan, the manager, instructed you not to come and to try other places instead, here is New York City." Kylie said.
"I did, sis; some were really cruel, and I don't want to work at the others. Some people said, "I'm young and I dropped out." Therefore, I won't stop visiting there even if that jerk rejects me." Serena chuckled.
Serena ate her breakfast fast and left the house before her parents realized that, despite being an adult, she had left.
When she arrived at her location, she got off the bus. She inhaled deeply before entering the spacious foyer cautiously. She got into the elevator and went to the first floor.
When she met the secretary again, she proceeded cautiously to her office.
"Good morning how may I help you today?" She asked, then gave her a quick glance.
"Wait, you visited us last week. Are you not Serena? When she inquired, Serena gave a small nod.
"You visited here last week, wait. "Are you not Serena?" Serena gave her a small nod in response.
"The manager told me not to let you meet him at all. What brings you here? I believed you were instructed to go and never come back." She said, speaking angrily this time.
"I apologize, but I simply need another opportunity to be hired. At least there are openings." She gave a little giggle.
"And you believe it will be so simple for you? Clowns like you have no place here. I was telling them not to let you in, so go to the elevator and press the button for the ground floor." Serena instantly displayed a dejected expression upon hearing her words.
This is not the very first time, She was humiliated like this, but this broke her. "I'll be back again," she whispered to the woman before leaving.
A"Serena?!" she exclaimed as she heard a familiar voice calling her name. "Serena! It's you!" the blonde woman said, walking to her with a milk tea.
"Don't you remember me? It's Rachelle. You high school bestie." she said, frowning.
"I know Rachelle, I just want you to talk more." She answered. They looked at each other for ten seconds without exchanging words, and then hugged.
"Oh my gosh! Rachelle, where have you been? I literally missed you so much," Serena exclaimed as she continued to hug the woman.
"Serena, I too miss you. Hey, I've been attempting to get in touch with you. She spoke while gently holding her hands.
"I apologize; after graduation, my father broke my phone because I had offended him. I thus lost contact with everyone, including you." They both laughed as she said that.
"How about you? What brings you here?" Serena enquired.
"I should ask you the same question too but since you asked first, I work here." She spoke, but she was unaware of the startling look on her face.
"You know? How? You never stated in high school that you wanted to be a fashion designer; I assumed that was your dream."
"Yes, Serena. My father is a powerful individual. I had to follow his instructions since he genuinely wanted me to be a fashion designer." She drank the milk tea slowly, rolling her eyes.
"You're fortunate. You are aware that my dream has always been to design fashion." Serena sneered.
"I continued to think you at Harvard. What took place?" Rachel enquired.
"Well my dad got bankrupt and he couldn't pay my fee for a full semester so I dropped out and decided to pursue fashion designing instead." Grinning, she commented, pointing her Rachelle's ID card on her jacket.
