Chapter 24 - Kabedon

"This life is really different from my past." I sat at the library, idly passing time on a Saturday—my personal day as a student.

I was so happy that I lived like this, but even so, being at the orphanage is not bad, when I think about it now. It was not really bad.

'Should I head to the dorm and sleep?' I pondered, not engaged in any particular activity. 'Or should I follow those main characters?'

Come to think of it, how can I earn money without a job? It's a puzzling thought.

"Should I apply to Sonia? Better not."

I decided to go to the indoor practice area.

"I will improve my ability! "Why did I think that? As if I will improve. I really hate to create a class like this if I create all classes equally, but the swordsman class will not stand out.

Then I went into the training ground. Steve was training along with Elina and Sonia. They look so happy. I felt jealous, I was doing nothing. Milo and Shakiro were on their own physical tests now.

"I just lifted some du-"

Then someone hugs me in the back!

Recognizing her from her height, I sighed, "Mel," my tone slightly irritated, but she just beamed in response.

It's hard to stay upset when she laughs like that.

"Hehe! My prince! Have you come for me?" Mel teased, pointing to herself.

"No, this is my first time here. So, I don't know much about this area."

"Then! You can go with me!"

"Whoa! Stop pulling me; why do you always tug or push?"

She nudges me from behind, and if I attempt to push back, she swiftly changes tactics to pulling. It's a hazard for my clothes; they end up looking like rugs.

As she pulls me down a hallway, I notice four signboards above a door: [sword] [bow] [mage] [wand].

"What's this?" I asked.

"Hehe, it's an indoor training ground!" she said.

I thought there were only training grounds outside.

"Let's go! Teach me how to use a bow!" she requests eagerly.

However, her skills have notably improved since the last time she used rapid fire.

"Hmm," can I really teach her? I'm not entirely sure. But I do know the skills she might use in the future. Maybe I can teach her a little bit about the skill, and the description will probably help her to get the skill.

Although there are skill books available, practical learning remains crucial. That's why all Avalon students must grasp the fundamentals and acquire their skills through battle. But I can certainly offer her guidance.

There is no hurt to teach her I think.

"Okay!" I said.

"Yay!"

I feel like her personality has changed after that incident with the ogre; to begin with, she never talks this much before.

She grabs a bow and a quiver of arrows, then leads me to the firing ground with the targets.

And she fired at it—it was not bullseye but butter—then the last time I saw her hitting another object.

"Do you know you can fire an arrow behind the object?" This was the first thing I said to her.

"Hmm?" Mel appears confused.

"Give me that! "I say to her, and she gestures the bow and one arrow.

After years of practice, I've learned this technique. I've even documented it in another novel where a simple arrow attack can curve. This was inspired by the English Bowman and Arabic Bowman, the tale of a man who would become known as the greatest archer in history; it's his only biography. But it's a historical fact.

With the correct posture.

*Swoosh*

I hit the target behind the target. It was the next target reserve.

"Wow! How did you do that?" She asks with sparkling eyes.

"I've shown you the skill, but it's better to learn it. I'll share something that might assist you."

"W-what? What do you want to tell me?" Mel ask.

"The elegance in archery lies not in posture or position, but solely in hitting the target. I, too, learned this from an archer," I disclosed, smiling at her.

That's the truth I learned from the nun back at the orphanage.

"Do you believe that magic can aid you in battles, like manipulating the wind to alter your arrow's course? You can also use specific items, such as poison arrows for lethal strikes, toxic arrows for neutralization, and venom to paralyze enemies," I elaborated, sharing the basic principles of archery in this world.

I covered everything about being an archer to her.

"Thank you. If you're ever in trouble, I'll come to your rescue!"

She was cute when she was not clinging to me.

"Okay, I should go," I said, glancing at the Archer door where three people observed us while I taught Mel.

It was Steve, Sonia, and Mel.

As I moved toward the hallway with them, I asked, "What are you doing here? I thought you were practising?"

"Do you think we'd practice after one of us disappears?" Steve retorted.

"Oh, right... you four are always together."

"Do you have any tips for me?" Steve asked, smiling but crossing his arms.

"Errrrm."

What should I do?

"We'll let you teach Elina! If you can give her some pointers," Steve insisted.

"How can I teach someone in their own class?"

"Y-you! Teach Mel, but don't teach Elina!" Sonia interjected, her tone brimming with irritation.

Suddenly, Mel responded to Sonia, "Because I'm his wife after all!" She laughed and returned to her archery.

"Ah, okay, bye!" I hurriedly said, deciding it was best to leave before Sonia exploded. She had more of a berserker personality than any berserker-class person I knew.

As I made my way outside, Elina intercepted me, "Um, can you share a bit of your knowledge?"

But as I heard her, I noticed Elina leaning against the wall, attempting to remain inconspicuous.

That won't make me want to leave you.

"What do you want to learn? "I said to Elina, but she tried to look away from me and go out to the right, using my right hand, with kabaam. My hands hurt, but it would add a cool effect to her. I pin her, but she tried to go to the left and another, kabam.

This was what you might call a Kabedon.

"You think you can escape from m—ouch, ouch!" I winced as suddenly my hair was grabbed.

"You think you can do whatever you want to Elina?" Sonia's voice cut through, seizing my hair and swinging me left and right; it was painful!

"That was quite an aggressive move from Felix; I didn't think he would do that to a girl," Steve said.

"You need to talk, Elina!" Sonia insisted.

When I glanced at her, she had a red face and was clearly blushing!

"I-I-I don't need someone to teach me!" Elina shouted and dashed outside the building.

"Hmph!" Sonia released my hair, leaving my scalp sore.

"Felix, did you hear that sound?" Mel emerged after finishing a set of quivers with 15 arrows each.

She was late for witnessing my Kabedon; if she saw it, it might not bode well for my well-being.
