A young Kate sat in a seat in the principals office, confused as to what was happening around her. She had taken a sock full of coins to school and beaten a child unconscious with them. A teacher had called her parents along with the boy's parents to discuss what was happening.
After speaking about it the child's parents had resolved the issue. Kate's parents would cover the medical bills and no charges would be pressed, provided Kate apologized for what she did.
Now was the moment where instead of speaking about her everyone in the room was speaking to her. "Okay Katie, what do have to say to these nice people" her mother said to her in a soft tone as Kate turned to face the child's parents before looking back at her mother. "I don't know" she said with a blank face as the room fell silent.
