Chereads / Her Call / Chapter 4 - Chapter four

Chapter 4 - Chapter four

I did as I was told immediately. It was like he'd compelled me to do that.

I left the hall where all the merriments were going on and made my way to the hallway.

It was quiet but I could still hear the muffled sound of music coming from the hall. I walked quietly, trailing Reon's scent.

I felt hands crawling up from my back, I knew immediately that it was Reon. He stood behind me, I had to stand still. His firm hands trailing on my skin sent shivers down my spine, I gulped with a shaky breath.

I could feel his warm breath on my neck. "Why do you keep doing this to me?" he said, this time, he grazed his lips from the back of my ear down to my neck. His lips and hands did a lot for me. I was cold, hot, and dripping too; if you know what I mean.

I knew the question he asked was rhetorical so I didn't bother to answer that. Whatever effect he had on me, I'm I had that same effect on him too.

He took my hands and turned to face him. "Effie Makaio." He said in a husky voice." He said my full name. Again. It could be that I had met him somewhere I couldn't remember.

"How do you know my father's name, Reon?" I asked sternly, trying to ignore the other funny feelings raving in my insides.

"Let's just say I've known you longer than I should have." Reon said, his dark eyes meet my deep blue ones.

"So not only are you a charming prince, but you're a stalker, huh?"

I shouldn't have asked teasingly.. gosh

why does he have that stupid smirk on this handsome face

"Do I look charming to you, miss Effie?" He asked looking deeply into my eyes, one of his hands in his pocket, his other hand grazing over my lips. I fought the urge to close my eyes.

"Answer my question, Reon, stop digressing." I said taking his hands away from my already sensitised lip.

"I knew your dad some months back. You looked just like him, I wasn't really sure you were his daughter so I called his name to confirm." Reon said.

I felt there was more to it than what he had told me.

His answer wasn't convincing.

I'd let that slide again.

Seems like my interrogation had killed the whole vibe going on in the hallway.

After our brief conversation in the hallway. Reon had not been the same, his friend, Torin noticed it too

I saw them walk out of the park house, heading to the garden.

My wolf was restless, it wanted me to go after them.

Maybe it also knew there was more to Reon knowing my identity. And with that, I followed.

I made sure I hid behind the trees, a bit far from them so they wouldn't be able to get my scent. I heightened my ears to hear them properly from the distance I was at

Reon's POV

I felt bad for lying to Effie but that was my only way out.

Since our chat this evening, my wolf had been so worked up. Torin had noticed the sadness on my face.

"Why the face brother, you are a bit blue?" he asked with a concerned look on his face.

I have to tell my friend what was going on with me, lest I pass out. I wasn't sure I could keep hiding it from him anymore.

We both went to the garden, a bit far from the park house. I knew if I told him this, he would probably get very upset with me and so I took him away from the park house. Where he could vent his anger and won't draw attention. Aside from my father, He hoped I find a mate.

We sat on the lawn, enjoying the cool night breeze.

I waited for Torin to ask me repeatedly why I was gloomy. I had to break the silence since he refused to start talking.

"Two weeks ago….." I started. Torin looked at me immediately, paying keen interest to what I was about to say. "I told you I was going to visit the park priestess to seek help in finding my mate. I could hear her calling in my head and I was worked up. The priestess told me and gave me clues on getting her. When she showed me my mate through a magic mirror…."

"Arghh… get to the point, man, who is this mate of yours?" Torin asked, cutting me off, such an impatient prick.

"Chill bro, let me finish."

"She said my mate was out of this world and it wouldn't be easy finding her. I had to use my Alpha blood to open up a portable to her world and I left to find her in a pretty bad way.

I arrived there, and I adapted to their habitat quickly, thanks to a certain old man.

He saw how frustrated I looked that day and helped me with accommodation in his farmhouse. I knew I had come to the right place when I saw his daughter, Effie. I made her a werewolf.
