He ran like never before, heart beating louder than ever with one of his daughters on his arm, urging his animal forefront but never shifting as it wouldbe the end of him with the amount of wounds he had attained.
He tried calling out to his mate through the link, a source of communication provided when one is mated to their true mate.
"My love,my love have you gone far, were you able to escape them, did you safely hide our daughter?"he frantically asked as remembered how he and his wife had splitted, both taking opposite route each with one of their daughters as they fought and escaped the war and chaos to bring them to safety.
The war was not something they had planned and hoped for, but it was inevitable and much more expected. The peace within the land has been broken, mistrust settled bringing fort dishonesty and disloyalty between families, friends and allies. The wicked ones used it to their advantage.
All this because of a prophecy that would be their downfall. Annihilating anyone that could pose as a threat to their selfish gain man or babe.
He thought of going to his clan to hide his daughter, but he chased that thought away as they denied him of help when he needed it and blamed him and his family for the war and broken peace pact.
Reaching an open bush field, he tried to reach out to his mate again, but still no response, he was getting worried.
He turned and wandered around the field to look for a safe place to hide his baby. 'My love, forgive papa for doing this, but it is for the best. You have to live, live long enough to bring back hope and restore peace back between the people and the clans'. 'I have no doubt that you are the one the prophecy spoke of, but if it isn't, you must find your sister, you must find each other and restore the peace' he said as he wept over his beautiful daughter.
Finding a spot that provided great refuge for his child, he placed her there, unhooking the amazonite stone bracelet from his hand and wrapping it on hers as a reminder for his and her mother's love for her as she grows.
He remembered the words of the seer, Shetura, the look on her face as she said the prophecy during the meeting which angered the dubious-minded, making them act in accordance to stopping the prophecy from ever happening.
But she reminded them saying, "no amount of killing will stop the prophecy from being fulfilled, a day shall arrive where evil and greed shall never reside together and be cleansed from both clans.A babe has been born, a goddess, first of her kind. Blessed by the moon which we serve and the land which we walk on. Her mate born to her companion shall seek her and together they shall reign.
They will come unaware like thieves in the night, powers greater than ever seen before. Nobody will win against them, for they are both blessed by the moon, sworn to eradicate evil and maintain peace. She must survive to fulfill the prophecy for the future of the both clans is in their hands." with that she disappeared, vanishing into thin air before the council members could capture her.
He really didn't understand much of the prophecy, but if the child in the it was any of his daughters, he wanted them as safe as possible. So that they will be able to fulfill their part and rid this place of its evil as it no longer felt like home
Kissing her forehead, he shifted to the form he hardly took on after he mated, he became one with his panther although knowing the dire consequences it would cost him, going back to the war zone to search for his mate.
A figure approached from the shadows some minutes after the shifter, as he walked further to the field, he had a voice, more like a baby's cry as he got closer. Looking down he saw a child no more than a year old bawling her eyes out.
'Who could have left you here?"He questioned not having a single clue what was happening somewhere in the Amazon he was in. He picked up the child, holding her close to his chest as he went about his way not knowing her parents or that she was going to be an important person in her world one day.
Two figures appeared from the dark, watching him as he went, with menacing smiles on their lips.
"At last victory might be ours".
