Chapter 18 - The Holy Light and Abyssal Darkness

The mentors exchanged glances, seemingly astonished by our unexpected proposal.

"I insisted on this, but as a teacher....Are you both sure about this?" Professor Daria inquired cautiously.

Bran and Diane, still unsure about what we are going to do, shared a puzzled look. I nodded confidently, "Yes, we're certain. It's an experiment. We want to see the results of intertwining our auras."

Master Gladius sighed, "This is highly unconventional. But if you both are willing to take the risk, go ahead. Remember, this is just a mock battle, not a life-or-death situation. And if we sense anything wrong, I would have to forcefully cancel your process."

Cecilia and I nodded in acknowledgment. We stepped toward each other in the center of the training arena, surrounded by an air of anticipation. The mentors and our opponents watched with a mix of curiosity and concern.

"Let's do it, Cecilia," I said, offering my right hand, as she was already holding onto my left hand.

Cecilia took it without hesitation, a determined glint in her eyes. We closed our eyes, focusing on synchronizing our mana and attributes to create a unified sense. The air around us shimmered with energy as the fusion began.

"What's that energy?"

"Is that-"

Cecilia's mana flowed into mine, as I felt my mana absorbing and reacting to Cecilia's mana flow. We both willed mana, as my integrated Demonic essence opened up a dark pathway for the flow of Cecilia's mana to fuse with my black heart.

The melding of Cecilia's mana with mine created a fascinating dance of energies. I could feel the pulsating rhythm of her Holy Light attribute intertwining with the abyssal currents of my own essence. It was a delicate and intricate process, like two streams converging into a single river.

The dark pathway within my black heart, a conduit to the abyss itself, eagerly embraced Cecilia's mana. The fusion felt like a harmonious symphony, with the light and dark notes creating a mesmerizing composition. I concentrated on maintaining the balance, ensuring that neither aspect overwhelmed the other.

"Well, it's time we show them, what do you say princess!" I asked her as our fusion was ready.

"Yeah. Let's show our energy. Let's show them our Aura!" Just as Cecilia said out loud, bright light emitted from Cecilia and my dark energy formed into dark flames engulfed my body, I sensed a surge of power, an amalgamation of the Holy Light's purity and the Abyssal Darkness's intensity. The newfound energy radiated from us, creating an aura that held both luminosity and shadow.

Cecilia's expression mirrored the intensity of the experience. Her eyes, usually bright and confident, now held a profound depth as she delved into the fusion. It was a testament to her resilience and adaptability.

As our powers intertwined, it created a unique blend of Holy Light and Abyssal Darkness. The combination was both harmonious and chaotic, a manifestation of our opposing attributes finding a delicate balance. The resulting aura expanded, enveloping us in a luminous yet shadowy field.

"Weird, I feel happy and brimming with positivity for a Demon. What's this feeling?" I asked myself.

Bran and Diane, along with the mentors, observed the spectacle with widened eyes. The mixture of light and darkness created an ethereal ambiance, and the temperature in the arena seemed to fluctuate.

The mentors exchanged a glance, seemingly recognizing the extraordinary nature of what was unfolding before them.

"By the gods," Master Gladius murmured.

Professor Daria's expression shifted from concern to awe. "This is unprecedented. They've managed to harmonize two opposing powers into one. Their fusion really— resulted in Aura."

I can feel them both. Every mana-arts user dreams of one day wielding the magnificent and unique power within their soul itself—their own aura. And seeing that a mere 14 and 15-year-old fuse their mana together to awaken a fused Aura, Heck, I bet no one in this world has tried this. Who wouldn't be envious.

Bran and Diane couldn't help but feel the intensity of the aura. The fusion had elevated the mock battle to an entirely different level.

"They are really beautiful!" Bran said as he gazed at me Cecilia, deep in total concentration.

"My highness, is~ is- My Highness is Awesome!" Diane started to cry as she shouted in happiness.

Just as we should use our Aura, I could feel Cecilia was reaching her limit, as the essence of the abyss was draining her mana more and more. I released the control over my Black heart, as the flow of our mana slowly came to a halt.

After a few moments, Cecilia and I opened our eyes simultaneously. The aura that surrounded us slowly dissipated, leaving behind a lingering sense of power.

"Well, that was unexpected," I quipped, breaking the momentary silence.

Cecilia chuckled, "Indeed, your demonic highness. Let's see how our opponents handle this."

Demonic Highness? Did she? was she able to see my true self while we were connected? How is she laughing in happiness if she witnessed my ruthless self. What the heaven?

As the mentors and our opponents processed what had just occurred, Professor Daria regained her composure. "Alright then, Teams. You are forbidden from using any of your powers. Are you ready for battle?"

Team Cecilia and Lucas versus Team Bran and Diane—this mock battle had just become a showcase of unprecedented magical collaboration.

While I was sure I can handle that, but what's going to happen to me, now the princess knows who I am?
