"What if a client develops feelings for you?" he inquired, finally stating his true concern, and everything froze again.
Venessa's heart skipped a beat at his words but she was still able to maintain her composure.
"My job forbids it, as long as I'm bound by the contract," she murmured, just audible enough for him to hear. Jayden knew there was a clause like this in the family fantasy contract, but he didn't care much about it.
"Does the contract also bind your heart?" Venessa was startled by Jayden's question; she bowed her head to avoid his gaze. The contract did not bind her heart, but she knew better than to go against the contract.
"It doesn't matter what I feel it is all void. Aside from being bound to the rental agreement the best we can be are friends." Venessa answered Jayden but that was not the answer he was seeking.
