"What do you mean?" Zayne blurted while nervously laughing.
"It is a long story..." Venessa sighed. Started to explain everything to him. Zayne patiently listened to every word she mentioned. Venessa kept the fact about being an immortalis hidden and the fact she knew her biological family.
She did not know if she was allowed to share such information. Zayne could only imagine what she felt like when she discovered this, it was like her entire life was a joke and those she knew as her pillar were non-existent.
"In the end, no matter what, you are still my brother." Venessa held Zayne's hand to assure him that nothing had changed in their lives.
"How were you able to cope with everything?" Zayne asked he could not imagine how bad it might have sounded for her. Venessa gave him a weak smile, "I had to accept the reality even though it was not what I wanted."
