After 15 minutes with no additional instructions, participants began chatting and interacting with each other, even though they were in competition. The overall atmosphere wasn't tense. Vanessa, staying busy, scrolled through Twitter trends, discovering her school trending due to today's seminar in her faculty.
It turns out the speakers at the seminar today were all distinguish and powerful people, especially Jayden Ashford a powerful young CEO, they were all making crazy remarks about him. They were interested in his looks rather his sermon. Jayden hardly made public appearances, so the entire Twitter was on fire because of his rare appearance at the a public event.
There were several pictures of his side profile or back view, but no detail picture since Jayden was against his picture being online so no one was able to get a clear picture of him. Vanessa didn't precisely recognize who he was, but Jayden seemed familiar. However, she didn't dwell on it for long and explored other trends. Yet, nearly all the trends were linked to Jayden. While not harboring any hatred, Vanessa held a less favorable opinion of the high class, shaped by her prior experiences.
With annoyance, she decided to leave Twitter and started listening to music using her AirPods. While she was listening to music, the next 10 were called while the first 10 had not returned. A teenage girl around 16 saw Vanessa sitting on her own and decided to approach her. Alyssa was a pretty girl who was pulled to pretty things when she saw Vanessa sitting on her own, she gave out the vibe of an Ice queen and her golden blond her was definitely something you can't ignore.
Vanessa stood out with her striking appearance, resembling a doll unlike the others. Determined to befriend this beautiful doll, Alyssa approached and waved, confident that Vanessa was using AirPods, as she had been observing her since Vanessa's arrival.
Vanessa saw a little cute teenage girl waving at her, so she decided not to ignore her. " Hey," Vanessa reply while she reduced her music.
Alyssa was delighted that the ice queen acknowledged her presence. "Hi, sorry to bother you, but you're so pretty! Are you a new actress?" Alyssa exclaimed with enthusiasm before taking a seat beside Vanessa.
Vanessa chuckled at Alyssa behavior, there was something about Alyssa that made it difficult to ignore her. Alyssa was adorable with her striking red hair and bubbling personality. " I am not an actress, I don't even have much acting skills to be honest, I am scared of the interview considering the fact we will have to showcase our acting skills"
Alyssa was taken aback by Vanessa's response. Her newfound ice goddess wasn't even an actress. Right then and there, Alyssa resolved to make Vanessa her idol. "Seriously, you're too pretty. You'd be a hit if you give it a shot. Oh, where are my manners? I haven't properly introduced myself. I'm Alyssa, currently a high school student with plans to enter the entertainment industry. I'm aiming for this job, so I can get more opportunities to practice," Alyssa introduced herself to her newfound ice goddess.
The corner of Vanessa's mouth lifted, showing a soft smile and exposing a bit of her white teeth. Alyssa was dazzled at her beautiful soft smile, presently she was prettier than most pop idols even though she was not dressed up like one. " I am Vanessa, I am a college student, and I am after this job for the money, I won't lie." Vanessa told Alyssa honestly. Vanessa felt comfortable immediately around Alyssa because of her personality. Alyssa was dressed in expensive clothes, so she must come from a well doing home. Vanessa was glad Alyssa was not like those spoiled brats she has met before.
" Wait, my goddess, how can you be in need of money with your looks? If you are interested, I know some people in the entertainment industry. You would make way much money there than with this job." Alyssa replied with a shocked expression that someone like Vanessa needed money.
Vanessa was shocked at first, being referred to as a goddess by Alyssa but laughed about it. 'she really knows how to charm with words,' she thought. "That sounds impressive, but thanks. I don't want anything to interfere with my studies. I dream of becoming an excellent programmer to make enough money that way."
Alyssa was a little depressed that her Idol turned her down, but her mood quickly recovered. " What is your interview number. I am number 293 I registered quite late because I did not know about this company early enough." Alyssa asked trying to know Vanessa's number.
" I am a similar case too, my number is the last one number 300. We are both in the same batch." Vanessa casually replied Alyssa. Alyssa emerald green eyes sparkles because Vanessa was in her batch. ' That means I have more time to talk to my goddess.' She thought.
Alyssa and Vanessa chatted away their time on different topics. Vanessa was surprised that Alyssa was knowledgeable in programming despite being a high student, she even explained some things to Vanessa. They enjoyed each other company even though there were not the same age.
They spoke for so long they did not know hours have passed until Vanessa felt hungry, but luckily the company provided snacks for the participants so Vanessa had some with Alyssa some of the people who were previously called were already back to the hall indicating they had finished their interview.
"Numbers 290 to 300 for females, please come with me," called the attendant. Vanessa and Alyssa ceased their conversation upon hearing their numbers. "Oh, before I forget, can I have your WhatsApp number? It would be great to stay in touch," Alyssa requested, wearing a cute and pleading expression that Vanessa couldn't resist. They exchanged contacts before following the attendant out.
After they left the hall, Vanessa and Alyssa were separated as they have to go through the physical examination to check if they had performed any plastic surgery and also collect their samples for a health check. After that, all 10 of them were brought to a smaller room where the judges were.
" When your number gets called, you would individually go to the inner room to be privately interview. You might be asked some private questions due to the nature of the job. This is the primary interview, give it your best shot," remarked the lady who had escorted them here before taking her leave.
Since Vanessa was last, she had to wait for everyone to be interviewed first by the order of their number. Alyssa finished her Interview before Vanessa because her number was before Vanessa's and went back to the main hall. They didn't say anything to each other because the applicants were instructed to remain quiet.
" Number 300 please come in." Finally, Vanessa number was called her turn at last. She started feeling nervous again, but she braced herself and walked confidently into the room.
When Vanessa came in with her confident strides all the judges were dazzled by her charms, even though she was not dressed exquisitely she still shone brightly.
" Good evening, I am Vanessa Clarkson number 300, registration number 530." She introduced herself how they were instructed to.
The interview then started, Vanessa was asked various intellectual and random question which she approached confidently. The question asked were based on the nature of the job and also on documents submitted by Vanessa to the company. The ones Vanessa submitted earlier.
The judges were impressed by her answer not only was she pretty but also smart unlike some dumb girls, they have interviewed. This job needs you to be smart because of the roles you have to play.
" Miss Clarkson, I must say you are smart indeed. Have you ever acted professionally before because we need people with good acting skills." One of the judges inquired.
Vanessa acknowledged her limited acting abilities without being surprised. "No, I haven't, but I did participate in various roles within my high school drama club." This statement was accurate; Vanessa was a member of the drama club primarily to fulfill extracurricular requirements and enhance her college application.
"Sure, not a problem. Could you perform a brief scene portraying a jealous girlfriend?" Another judge inquired. Vanessa wasn't surprised by the request, as the interview occasionally demanded them to showcase acting skills.
Vanessa started to enact her act, it was not perfect but was passable. The judges did not comment on it, but instead asked Vanessa a completely unexpected questions. " Have you ever been in a serious relationship?"
" No, I have not." Vanessa had never dated even when she was in high school, she was introverted and loved video games because of how she was treated when she little because of her purple eyes. She was always wary of others and it really affected her social skills. It was when she got to college, she started interacting with people.
