The atmosphere was solemn; it had been two weeks since Karissa died. Venessa and Zayne spent their days grieving over their loss. Jayden gave Venessa a leave since she was meant to resume her work studies, but due to the death of Karissa, it didn't seem possible.
After a lot of deliberations, Venessa decided to take responsibility for the funeral as the adult among the cousins. They collectively agreed to have the funeral at Windsilk town; it was where Karis lived for over 15 years and had a lot of loved ones.
In a small hall with seats prepared, an open casket was placed in front with people coming in and out to see the departed. Karissa was placed face up with flowers around us.
Her closest family members were seated in the front of the hall, grieving over their loss as friends and good acquaintances of the departed came to give their condolences over their loss.
