Venessa got nervous when the doctor mentioned Aunt Karissa's health condition. "How bad is it?" She asked straight up knowing whatever news the doctor was about to give her was not going to be nice.
"Let's go in. The patient is awake, and she deserves to know the true nature of her condition." The doctor had a stoic expression that was hard for Venessa to read. She weakly nodded at him and followed him inside Karissa's room.
Zayne was sitting by his mother's side. His condition was not perfect because he still had bandages on his body. He was too worried about his mother to care about himself.
"How is she?" The doctor asked Zayne, Karissa's eyes were closed and she seemed to be fast asleep.
"She felt tired earlier and fell asleep due to exhaustion," Zayne explained, turning his attention to the doctor. A long sigh left the doctor's lips.
