Earlier that day, back at Port Marino, while Venessa's life was being plunged into chaos by Petra, Cynthia was busy going through a lot of paperwork and also stealing glances from Kaiser.
"Are you done?" Kaiser's baritone voice caught her attention, breaking her daze while she was stealing glances at him while working. "I am almost done." Cynthia blurted, looking at Kaiser, who had not gotten his nose out of the work he was doing on his system.
"Then try to focus on the job and stop staring at me. It feels a bit cringe." He replied with his hands still rapidly tapping on the keyboard keys.
Cynthia was taken aback that she got caught while staring. She immediately averted her eyes and tried to focus on work but her attention kept on wavering. She glanced at her phone screen to see it was already 4 pm, and she would be getting to work soon; well, that would be after the dinner appointment Kaiser had.
