Venessa felt a wet sensation on her shoulder followed by the snubbing sound of Esmeralda. "I failed as her mother."
Those words struck Venessa, Esmeralda had so many regrets in her words that it moved Venessa. "You didn't fail as a mother but didn't get the chance to be one. I am sure if your daughter was alive you would have been a great mother." Venessa tried to encourage her.
When Venessa was little she heard a lot of stories about how most mothers are affected by the stress and pain of giving birth from her mother. She had no idea what Esmeralda suffered all these years because of her daughter.
"You think so?" Esmeralda asked Venessa her voice shaking with doubt lingering in every word she said.
