C122: End of the Abyss P4 **

"We are coming with you to the dungeon.
Axel lowers his head with a sigh as his hand rises up palm flat and facing down, he waves it side to side, essentially waving them away as he begins to walk away.
Axel's arm drops as he makes his way back home, he is about to ponder about his next actions when a pair of hands grab his own. He is 'forced' to stop, he turns to look at who it was where he notices that Haruhime has tears in her eyes as she looks directly into his own eyes, her grip tightening around his hand.
"Why must you go alone?"
"Because I will not stop until the dungeon is gone. That will take a long time and the dungeon will likely retaliate. Of course if I bring Sabrina then it will be much faster. The dungeon will surely retaliate against my efforts and I will have to fight creatures as strong or stronger than that Phoenix."
"Then we will be there with you. We won't force you to carry our burden for us."
"I have never done this for any of you. I have always been selfish in my actions, every step of the way. "
"Danna-sama….You would discard us, weak..pitiful, mortals?" Haruhime openly calls Axel 'Husband'. She gently lifts his hand which she was holding and holds it against her cheek.
His heart is moved by her gentle actions but he can only ask, "What do you mean discard? When have I ever thrown any of you away?"
"Danna-sama's actions in destroying the dungeon would be a world wide event. Everyone would know that it was Danna-sama. And Danna-sama alone. Raikou-donno has taught us that her Immortality was brought about by the faith of others due to certain heroic events and tales. People everywhere would only know You. You alone would ascend as a heroic god while the rest of us make due as simple mortals. We cannot be where gods are unless we…"
Axel presses his thumb against her lips to stop her final words, his other hand clenching at the realization of the situation that he truly would be abandoning his group. Even if he doesnt become some sort of Heroic god. He would in complete truth, become an immortal being like his goddess'. The rest would remain mortal, likely till the end of their lives since the dungeon was the source of trouble for all other legends.
The only other possibility would be to find some other source of immortality for the people he cares about but such a thing is not possible. Even the few tidbits of otherworldly knowledge shows that such a feat is impossible or outright cruel and disastrous. He is not willing to become a villain all so that he can spend eternity with the ones he cares for. They would also not accept him committing untold atrocities just to help them live.
"Haaaa '' Axel sighs as he finds that there is no possible way of getting out of this conversation with the exception of running away physically but he cant do that. He knows that they would chase him and endanger themselves further to follow him into the dungeon.
"OK"
Haruhime's face brightens up as a smile spreads widely upon her face.
"Ill bring you all to the dungeon, we will destroy it. Together" Axel states and the others begin to celebrate and cheer when Daisy and Welf open the door and come out. They see the happy scene and both of them rub their heads as Welf says.
"I guess they have succeeded in convincing Axel, we were too slow to join and help"
The Takemikazuchi familia members wave the duo off as Mikoto says that neither of them would have been much help. They pass all the honor of convincing Axel onto Haruhime.
CLAP.
A relatively loud sound is heard as Axel claps his hands together. "Alright everyone. If we are going to do this then we will need to prepare a lot. Food, Water, camping tools. We will treat it as realistically as we can and as such, we won't be teleporting in or at least only halfway through so that we get the authentic sensation of being adventurers. YOU HEAR ME"
"YES SIR" Everyone begins to scatter and Haruhime would join them if Axel did not snake his hand around her waist. She looks to him in confusion as he replaces his hand on her cheek and gives her a deep kiss which surprises her.
"My little fox has to pay the price for convincing me like this." Axel states as the two of them teleport home and to his room where Haruhime's back is pressed against Axel's chest.
