Day one passed and Warren didn't have any clue where Dan was. 'Monday 5:34 a.m. Dan is already here in the classroom but today his chair is empty.' The empty seat in the classroom gnawed at Warren's mind, Dan's absence creating a palpable void. He found it hard to focus, his gaze occasionally flicking towards Dan's vacant seat. This really drives him crazy. Each passing moment intensified his unease, his fingers drumming anxiously on the tabletop. Finally, unable to bear it anymore, Warren stood up abruptly, causing a few startled glances from nearby students. He left the classroom, a sense of urgency propelling him forward. 'I need to find him,' he thought determinedly, his steps quickening as he made his way through the school's corridors.
Warren pushed through the hallways, his eyes scanning for any signs of Dan. His heart raced with each passing second, his mind filled with worry and frustration. "Dan! Where the hell are you?" he muttered under his breath, his voice filled with a mix of concern and annoyance.
He searched various places throughout the school, including the library, the school's rooftop and even the school's dark corners. But Dan remained elusive, leaving Warren feeling increasingly frustrated and desperate.
The students start staring at him and whispering to each other as they watch Warren.
As Warren continued his desperate search, he could feel the weight of eyes on him, his every move scrutinized by the curious students. The whispers and murmurs filled the corridor as they watched him in puzzled curiosity.
Warren, unaware of the attention he was drawing, was too focused on finding Dan to pay much mind to the prying eyes. He persisted in his search, his determination unyielding despite the growing scrutiny. He just had to find Dan, no matter the cost.
Suddenly his phone rang. Warren's heart skipped a beat as he heard the sound of his phone ringing, his focus immediately shifting to his pocket. He quickly retrieved the device, he pressed the answer button. "Hello?" Warren answered gruffly, his voice laced with a mix of hope and irritation. He anxiously waited for the call to reveal some answers or lead him closer to Dan.
"Sir, We can't find him…" the person on the phone replied, in a shaky voice.
Warren's heart sank at the words he heard. He clenched his fist tightly around the phone, his frustration mounting. "What do you mean you can't find him? Have you checked all the places we discussed? Leave no stone unturned!" he demanded, his voice booming with authority.
"We've tried, Sir, but Dan has completely vanished. It's as if he has disappeared into thin air," the person on the line replied, their voice filled with frustration and confusion.
Warren's grip on the phone tightened, anger and worry coursing through his veins. He couldn't accept that answer; Dan couldn't have simply vanished. "I want every inch of the city covered. Check every damn alley, every corner, every place he could possibly hide," he ordered, his tone adamant.
"But Sir, we've already tried that. We've conducted a thorough search and have even questioned people who have had contact with him, but no one seems to know anything," the person on the line replied, their voice tinged with regret.
The person's words struck a chord with Warren, causing a flicker of doubt to cloud his determination. Had he been searching in the wrong places all along? Could he have missed something important?
"Then try again! Search every nook and cranny until you find him, damn it!" Warren snapped, his anger and exasperation boiling over. His voice echoed in the hallway, causing a few heads to turn his way.
"Understood, Sir. We'll continue our search and update you immediately if we find any information," the person on the line responded, their voice filled with urgency. With that, the call ended, leaving Warren alone with his racing thoughts and growing frustration.
He slipped the phone back into his pocket, his mind racing with a whirlwind of emotions. He couldn't shake the feeling that he was missing something crucial, a vital piece of the puzzle that could explain Dan's disappearance. He knew he needed to think strategically, to consider every angle.
Warren took a moment to compose himself, his mind shifting gears to a more analytical approach. "Okay, think," he muttered under his breath, his brows furrowed in concentration. "There must be a clue, something that ties everything together."
He leaned against the wall, his eyes darting back and forth as he tried to make sense of it all. He ran through a mental list of all the potential leads and clues they had so far. Was there something he had overlooked, a seemingly insignificant detail that held the key to Dan's location? This is the only thing that he can't find answers.
