Synopsis
Lui Yang a history and literature professor at Proof University died due to a unexpected accident. When he opened his eyes again he found himself inhabiting the body of the Crown Prince of the Qin Dynasty, whose beauty was unmatched. However, that's all the Crown prince was. A pretty vase with no substance. His personality was so terrible and tyrannical, majority of the people had already lost their respect for him. If he was going to be a hot head and boisterous Prince, that was fine. But why be hot headed, boisterous, and a powerless Prince at the same time? Wasn't it about time he threw in the towel and gave it all up? Who here, didn't already know that he was just the Crown Prince in name only and that the real man in charge was no other but the Regent King, Qin Shi Huang. The King who was fully respected by his country unlike the useless Prince, was of course the better choice. But only Lui Yang knew just how terrible and cunning this Qin Shi Huang was. He even knew that the body he inhabited would soon die a dog's death by the very sword that belonged to the Regent King himself. So, to simply put Lui Yang's current situation was a disaster. And to make matters worse the relationship between the Crown Prince and the King was no ordinary royal relationship. It was... How dare he say, a bit scandalous. 12/30/23 ~ ??/??/??

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

A massive amount of snow fell in an unorganized manner upon the desolate ground. It was just ten thousand kilometers of desolation with a strange sandstone canyon snaking through the middle. Dim candle lights were emitted from the canyon valley. The wind blew and the flames swayed but not once did the flames extinguish. Sometimes the light was veiled, and other times it created an eerie feeling of the dead, the sight of it sent shivers down ones spine.

In the center of the candles, lay a young man strung up in shackles that were unbreakable.

The man had a head full of long jet black hair that fell to his ankles. His cold and harsh looking face was a bit rough and full of small cuts and bruises. His eyes were closed as if unconscious, however when an ice cold snowflake fell from the sky and landed on the tip of the his hair, the man that originally had his eyes closed, slowly opened them.

He had the bluest of eyes, they were pale and ghostly. His pupils, akin to a flame, were deep and calm. Like the flames of hell, deep to the point where it was impossible to see through the varied emotions contained within them.

One by one snowflakes slowly fell upon the man's body. It was unknown how much time had passed before the man who was shackled with metal chains decided to raise his head, and look up towards the gloomy sky. A while later, his thin lips slightly opened, and spit out a sentence.

"You finally won.... Qin Shi Huang. You've destroyed everything."

The Regent King looked indifferently at the crown prince, sword in hand and chuckled coldly. "Won? How would a pawn know anything about winning? You simply existed because we allowed you to and now you no longer serve a purpose."

"A pawn..." Bai Li whispered softly. "Right, a prince without power- that's all I've ever been."

"There's no point in being sad now. You must have seen this coming in the end, right?" It wasn't a question but a statement, even on the verge of death the king continued to toy with him.

Of course he saw it coming. But what did it matter when he was dying anyway. He looked up at Qin Shi Huang and released a laugh. A laugh so painful and delirious one would think that he had lost his mind, and in this state he had probably did. Who could blame him.

The king snickered in disgust but the prince could careless.

"It doesn't matter, nothing matters anymore! So what if I failed to kill you and everything you loved. I curse you, Qin Shi Huang. I curse you to live a life worse then death. I curse you to feel 10 times the pain I felt!!" Tears of hatred streamed down his face and his body full of deadly scars as if he was rotting away shook violently. He threw up a mouthful of blood but his eyes still shined with strength and showed the insanity within. "Kuk!...I...I-I'll die today.... but you'll-"

*Swoosh!*

A blade swung coldly through the air and brought death in it's wake.

An abrupt silence filled the void until...

*Thump!*

A bloody head fell to the ground and rolled to the kings feet as if greeting him one last time. Long jet black hair covered in dirt and blood wrapped gracefully around the young man's head as if it refused to show the king such a disgusting sight.

Not an ounce of feeling crossed through Qin Shi Huang's pair of silver eyes. They appeared dull and devoid of life. Loved? He's never loved anything in his life. The Crown Prince's death, the wars, framing, killing, politics, and extortions, had all gone as planned. The prince was dead exactly the way he had wanted. And as always, everything since the moment of his birth; had gone smoothly and presented no difficulty. Not even a little.

"How boring." He sighed and gazed up at the sky with cold eyes and frowned. The snow fell and covered the fallen Kingdom in white. The King's hair was done up in a simple ponytail, free from the ruby and gold hairpins he wore. He had on a thin grey robe that loosely hugged his figure and silk under garments that hung low on his waist.

There was nothing left for him to do anymore. He concurred all that he wanted; he had all that he wanted. But despite having what he desired, he was never satisfied and always felt empty.

His little lover, whom he had hoped would be the one thing that could finally entertain him, lost it's luster and became predictable like everyone else.

His toy was now dead and the Princess he took captive had quickly become useless. The ministers were murdered and the country was once again at war. As it turned out, there was really no purpose to anything here anymore. Not when everything was simply, too boring.

He had it all, so he destroyed it all. It was only right for him to do so because everything was all his. To the life of his citizens to the very dirt he stood on down to the molecule itself. It was all his.

In the far distance lay the corpses of the servants he had killed and at his bare feet lay the Crown Prince's head. His sword and the ground beneath his feet was stained scarlet from the blood of both foes and adversaries. A strong stench of death clung to him like a coat made for winter.

Not a single person tonight who encountered him, had escaped his wrath.

How ironic was this?

They called the Crown Prince a tyrant but the real monster was the King himself. And now that they all were dead, it was too late to see reason now.

He stood in silence for a long time before the sword in his hands had swung again and another life was taken. But this time the life he took was his.

If this was all he could obtain in life, what awaited him in death? He would rather die then live another second in this boring god foresaken world. He knew what it was to live, now he wanted to know what it felt like to simply no longer exist. Surely death was different.

???!!

"Are you kidding me right now? Who ends a story like this!"

The sound of a mouse echoed through a spacious bedroom owned by a young man named Lui Yang. He couldn't get over what he just read. He searched and searched for the next chapter but all he got was a blank page of nothingness. The story was over.

Was the author insane? How could they choose such an ending?

Lui Yang frowned.

I guess this is what I get for trying something new.

He was a literature and history professor who instructed students on events from the dynasty period as well as modern times. He read history books and turned Shakespeare poems into lessons. What did he possibly know about a Xianxia novel?

He only read it because the setting took place from the Qin Dynasty era. Of course the majority of the story wasn't based on real events and fabricated from imagination. But it was still somewhat of a historical book. He read it in his spare time out of curiosity, wanting to explore outside the genre he usually read.

And what did he get?!

A load of angst, trauma, and a bunch of craziness.

Whoever wrote the story had to be one depressed puppy.

Lui Yang sighed, raised his risk and gently pulled up his right sleeve to check the time on his watch. He tilted his head in astonishment to find that it was a quarter after one and he only had 5 hours left till he had to prepare for his class.

It was way past midnight and it was obvious he had completely lost track of time. As one who wasn't a morning person, before it was too late he needed to get ready for bed as soon as possible.

Turning off his computer he grabbed his pajamas and laid them out on the bed before going into the bathroom to take a shower. He washed his body first and began to wash his hair only to realize he forgot the shampoo.

Pulling the curtain back he grabbed his towel and took a step out the tub. Maybe it was because of how fast he moved or it was because he wasn't careful enough but he had slipped and fell backwards, his head hitting the back of the porcelain tub with a loud thud.

Lui Yang couldn't even scream for help as everything happened so instantly. His vision blurred until it quickly dimmed and fated into black. The shower water mixed in with the thick pool of blood and slowly ran down the tub into the darkest part of the drain. Permanently solidifying his death.
