Chapter 2 - Discovering my ship class

In a distant solar system called the torax system, a gigantic structure stays a set distance away from the Star of the system acting as it's own very small planet. This is a structure Built by humanity called a citadel. Within this citadel, citizens live their various lives, most of the jobs that were essential for humanity still exist such a teaching, farming and being a hospital staff member. In a specific part of the citadel, a graduation ceremony just ended and as students exit the facility, we are introduced to a student, a handsome young 22 year old man, he has black hair and a muscular build. The man makes his way to the docking bay with twenty other graduates. The docking bay is a huge area used to store ships of different shapes and sizes. As the graduates enter the docking bay a military instructor was waiting just behind the door to welcome them. "Welcome cadets to what we like to call, 'the final graduation pilot tutorial' where instead of piloting ships through a simulation, you are put in charge of a real ship and are tested based on how you do on a real mission." The military instructor said. "You may choose whichever ship you want, but be aware, even though all the ships look the same they are not, the difference is actually discovered when a ship has been chosen, when a ship is chosen by anyone, their DNA information is gathered and connected to the assistant on board the ship making it your personalized assistant that can't be changed no matter what. Therefore the type of pilot you become is based on luck, if you score a good ship, good job, if you end up with something you don't like, tough luck, that's how things go." He paused as he looked around for any reaction. "You will all be assigned on a solo mission and if you succeed then you will be awarded a crew of five random crew members with random specializations, you already know that the higher level a ship is the bigger and better it becomes, therefore even if you get an unwanted ship type or class, you can keep upgrading and customizing it anyway you want, therefore a Freighter can be customized and upgraded to do the job of a Dreadnought although I am highly against such antics as it could be very dangerous for the pilot and by extension the crew members. Alright I've talked to much, time to select a ship, Good luck." He said as the graduates slowly pick a ship to enter. "What an interesting bunch, these graduates are, five males and 16 females, quite unexpected and interesting indeed." He said as he watched the graduates select a ship one by one. The young man chose a ship at the very back of the line as he was just following his gut feeling. The ships were quite huge even though they were small, Imagine a medium sized spacecraft poised on the threshold of a new journey, awaiting the arrival of its pilot. The ship, compact and aerodynamic, reflects the subtle elegance of efficient design. Its metallic hull, adorned with minimalistic cosmic insignia, hints at the technological wonders within.

As the man approached the door to the ship he tapped a button on the side of the door opening up to a wonder he had never seen before as the simulations only showed the controls and not the interior. The door to the ship slowly fell to the ground as small ramps rised to form stairs to the ship. A soon as he entered the ship the door closed behind him and a badge could be seen on the wall being held up by an advanced electromagnetic material named Absidian, it was the basic unit used to make everything about the ship. With the type of information that pilot academy drilled into their minds he grabbed the badge and placed it on the left part of his chest, as soon as it connected with his academy outfit it released very small nano bots which expanded around him forming a futuristic space suit around him. Picture the nanotech armor as a marvel of microscopic engineering, a seamless fusion of science and defense. Composed of nanoscale particles, this armor adapts and conforms to the wearer's body, creating a second skin of unparalleled protection.

At rest, the armor appears as a sleek, almost liquid-like sheen. Upon activation, it responds to the wearer's neural commands, covering the body with a lattice of nanobots. These microscopic entities work in unison to form a resilient barrier against physical and energy-based threats.

The nanotech armor can morph its density, providing flexible movement during calm moments and rigid protection in times of danger. It self-repairs in real-time, healing breaches and damage with remarkable efficiency. Integrated with a heads-up display, the armor provides vital information to the wearer, enhancing situational awareness.

Whether in the throes of combat or navigating uncharted territories, nanotech armor represents the pinnacle of protective technology, a symbiotic shield seamlessly woven into the fabric of the future.

When the suit is activated, the badge cannot be seen as it is what provides the nanotech bots. Deactivating the armour the young man tapped on the badge which had developed a symbol of a galaxy on it, tapping on the badge brought out what is referred to as the ships system.

What caught his eye was the ship type as he had just received a ship type he hadn't discovered from the academy but he would have to ask about it later as currently he was expected to do the mission the assistant (BETA) should have given him.
