Once she looked at the blocked entrance into the cellar, she saw her hand stuck there under the wooden pillar from the floor above. The hand looked like a dry bony hand only covered with dry skin, looking like it was dried for a long time. Once Mei Lin saw it, she felt hopeless. 'What happened when I was cultivating? Did someone destroy this mansion while I was dispersing the venom from my blood?'
Once she managed to stand up, she looked around to see if there was another way away except the blocked way into the cellar. Mei Lin knew she would not be able to get out the same way she went in so she created a path through the walls and dug a tunnel to get out.
Mei Lin quickly suppressed this idea and decided to explore the darkness. Unlike when she was still a non-cultivator, she would not go into the darkness like that, but after becoming a cultivator and having the power of QI Condensation realm cultivator, her spirit sense could be enhanced with her natural energy and easily explore her surroundings and serve instead of her sensed.
After clearly sensing that the path into the dark was clear for more than fifty meters, she decided to explore further, for such hidden passages, veiled in shadows and secrecy, seemed less like a mere tunnel and more like a rare convergence of fate.
As she slowly walked through the small tunnel, she discovered that the tunnel was slowly widening a soon it was like big entrance doors into the mansion. Mei Lin carefully went forward, before she felt that ground here was much harder and not soaked in water.
Mei Lin once again explored the path in front and as soon as she did, her spirit sense was blocked by something, and Mei Lin was in the end in the dark. Her eyes started glowing with red light as Mei Lin went forward with delight. Such a thing had only one answer, which was that something very mysterious was right in front of her.
Just as she was less than ten meters away from the place, that blocked the path of her spirit sense, an array formation shined around her something hit the side of her body, and she fell on the ground cursing. From the arrays around Mei Lin sharp metal rots flew in all directions and pierced through her side.
Traps were set here as another layer of protection against intruders and as soon as Mei Lin was close enough, array formation came to life and attacked her. Mei Lin was lying on the ground in extreme pain. Fortunately, only a few rots hit her, and the rest went into the other side of the walls shattered. With her right hand, she managed to block most of the arrows, but her left side of the body was ripped apart.
Fortunately, arrows didn't penetrate her body and only ripped her skin into shreds. One of the rots hit her on the shoulder, slipped along the bone on the chest, and went out through the skin on her chest. Arrow went through and left through her breast and went out.
Mei Lin was rolling on the ground trying to take down the red robe and stop her wounds from bleeding. Once she took off her robe, she saw her ripped into shreds. Blood was pouring out quite fast, so she immediately entered the cultivation position and started to stop blood from flowing from her wounds.
It took a few hours before she stopped the blood from escaping. After stopping blood, Mei Lin starts to move natural energy through her body and starts to stitch her body back together. Stitching was very painful, so the final results were not good, but managed to do a job.
After a painful process was done, Mei Lin finished everything and wrapped herself with the bandages. After wrapping everything she put away the rest of the bandages and started to creepily smile. 'I hope something good is at the end of the tunnel, and I will be able to get out of here.'
It took Mei Lin another day of cultivating before she managed to stabilize her body, so she was able to continue. Before marching forward, Mei Lin used her spirit sense to scan all her surroundings to find out if there were more array traps and to look at how the array formation was set here to be hidden against her spirit sense.
After scanning every inch of the cave in front, she found more array formations and discovered that every array formation was a combination of more than one, and looking at them they looked very complicated. Mei Lin decided to investigate them after she reached the end of the tunnel and found the way out. Mei Lin decided to risk it, and she arrived in front of an old wooden door with steel emblems reinforcing it.
What surprised Mei Lin the most was the special head with the face of some kind of deformed creature situated in the middle of the doors. As Mei Lin went to the doors and pulled the torch closer to that thing, she immediately retracted her spirit sense and wanted to vomit.
What she saw was the skinned-off face of some kind of chimera between a few people combined. It looked extremely grotesque. A few worms were invading exposed parts of the face and pus was continuing to flow from the face.
As Mei Lin felt that grotesque face with her spirit sense, she ran back to the blocked entrance, completely losing interest in this path and ready to dig herself out. While she was running, strange sounds like human voices started to come from the doors. Mei Lin didn't stop and continued to run from the tunnel.
As she went back to the place where she was after falling, she started to climb up. This was a useless act because she had no way to get rid of the fallen pieces blocking the entrance. When she was above the ground, slippery walls soaked the humid place, and fallen water fell along with Mei Lin.
As Mei Lin was falling, she felt like the fall was extremely long before she hit the ground. Her blood tears looked like they were leaving her face and landing a red veil moving all around. She felt completely lost without a chance to get away.
As she was just blink of an eye on the ground, Mei Lin closed her eyes and started imagining how she and the others laughing at the tea-house as they ate dinner, Mei Lin had a feeling that this moment was extremely long and happy.
