Mei Lin, however, wasted no time and swiftly advanced towards him. In a decisive moment, she plunged her crystal knife into the bandit's chest.
He stared at his chest, shock evident in his eyes, and instinctively seized Mei Lin's arm. Acting on impulse, he swung the machete at Mei Lin, although he couldn't muster his full strength in the attack. The blade struck Mei Lin's arm, slicing through flesh until it lodged in the bone. Blood immediately starts flowing from the wound down on Li Fey Lianhua. Determined to cut off her hand, the bandit sought to sever Mei Lin's hand with everything that he had, preventing her from extracting the knife.
He looked at the veil covering Mei Lin's face with a creepy smile. "I've got you!" But the knife suddenly disappeared. To the bandit's surprise, Mei Lin pulled out the same clay jar as before and placed it on Li Fey Lianhua's belly. Mei Lin tended to the bandit who was still alive and tried to stop the blood from flowing out.
In the meantime, Mei Lin managed to pull the machete out and used her natural energy to the wound to prevent it from leaking out. After dropping the machete on the ground, she forcefully removed the bandit's hands from the wound, allowing the blood to flow into the jar.
The bandit looked at his blood flowing out and couldn't stop it from happening. He could do nothing but gaze at Li Fey Lianhua and Mei Lin. Realizing his helplessness, he let the blood flow and attempted to reach into his storage bag. As he starts pulling out some kind of green pill, Mei Lin uses her spirit sense to enter his storage bag and prevent him from pulling out a machete.
As this continued, Mei Lin's spirit sense grew stronger than the bandit's, pushing it out from the storage bag and with that cutting off his connection to the storage bag and causing the bandit flashback. Bandit spit out a mouthful of blood and it didn't take long before the bandit succumbed to his injuries.
The blood continued to flow into the jar and Mei Lin successfully infiltrated the bandit's storage bag when he attempted to pull out a second machete. She erased his spirit imprint from the bag effortlessly since the bandit hadn't tried to counter Mei Lin's spirit sense, remaining unaware of her actions. After the bandit's demise, Mei Lin destroyed his spirit imprint completely and swiftly replaced it with her own.
Li Fey Lianhua didn't do anything and only looked at the dead bandit. Blood from the bandit was all over her leaving her all alone. None of the servants stayed inside and had already left the building. Mei Lin collected the blood, gathering every drop. She then sealed the jar and put it into her storage ring.
She was looking at Mei Lin with no life in her eyes. Mei Lin pushed the bandit away from Li Fey Lianhua to the side, and he fell next to her with a bang. His eyes were still open full of fear and disbelief. In just a few seconds his life turned from cloud nine into nine layers of hell.
His dead gaze remained fixed on Li Fey Lianhua. She froze when their sights met. Fortunately for her, Mei Lin grabbed her and helped her get up. They both looked like a mess, but even Mei Lin was more beaten up than Li Fey Lianhua, so she did not feel that bad. As they slowly moved through the house, Mei Lin explained to her why she had saved her.
"I was sent here by your father to protect you. You don't need to worry anymore. The city guards will send us help as soon as possible. We will hide and wait until they will arrive." Mei Lin didn't say anything more to her, but Li Fey Lianhua did everything that Mei Lin told her because she was covered by bandits' blood and didn't think reasonably.
"Do you have a cellar here, so you can hide there for a while?"
"Yes, it's in the back of the building." Li Fey Lianhua showed the way. "Inside the storage room in the back of the building." Mei Lin didn't wait anymore, and both were running towards the cellar.
One of the bandits, who were outside the building, raping the servant girls went inside the house to see if someone was still there. Once he saw laying corpse of the bandit lying there in the puddle of blood, he knew that they would be in trouble. The dead bandit was unlike him and his friends. Mei Lin was already prepared in the room, and as soon as the bandit tried to force his way through the paper doors, Mei Lin's knife pierced through them and into the bandit's head. As Mei Lin withdrew her hand back into the room, the bandit toppled forward, tearing through the door and collapsing onto the floor. Blood started to flow out onto the floor. Li Fey Lianhua began yelling as she witnessed the gruesome scene.
"You killed him!" You don't even know who that is." Mei Lin ignored Li Fey Lianhua and started looting the bandit. He had some kind of pouch instead of a storage bag. Mei Lin took it and opened it. From inside, numerous fancy small jewelry pieces and two thousand city coins spilled out. Mei Lin swiftly stashed everything into her storage ring and then proceeded to lead them out of the room. She grabbed Li Fey Lianhua, and they ran towards the cellar. As Mei Lin opened the door to the room where the cellar was located.
