Chapter 227 - Chapter 227: Drunk

"Now, the Irish team's players, accompanied by their mascot, are circling the field.

The Quidditch World Cup trophy has been brought up to the top-tier box!" boomed Bagman's bell-like voice.

The top-tier box was magically illuminated, allowing all spectators in the stands to see inside.

Two breathless wizards carried a large golden cup into the box and handed it to Cornelius Fudge.

Fudge still looked displeased, having gestured in vain all day trying to make the Bulgarians understand him.

"Let's give a warm round of applause to the gallant Bulgarian team!" Bagman shouted.

Seven defeated Bulgarian players ascended into the box. Below, the audience applauded and cheered, showing their appreciation.

Alaric saw countless lenses of binoculars glinting towards them.

One by one, the Bulgarian players walked between the rows of seats in the box, shaking hands with their Minister and Fudge.

Bagman loudly announced each person's name. Krum still looked quite disheveled; his face was bloodied, and his prominent black eye circles stood out.

Once on the ground, his movements appeared less coordinated.

His legs were slightly bowed, and his shoulders noticeably slouched forward, indicating that Cho Chang's two interference actions had caused him to fall miserably.

Next on stage were the Irish team players. Seven players dressed in green and silver uniforms approached the box.

Cho Chang walked last, and Alaric noticed she still held the golden Snitch. When Krum saw her, he immediately frowned and involuntarily shivered twice.

When Bagman announced Cho Chang's name, the entire stadium cheered for her far more than her teammates, her performance in this game had won over everyone.

Troy and Cho Chang were arranged to lift the trophy, and the audience erupted into thunderous applause. Cho Chang smiled broadly, especially when she saw Alaric beside her.

She winked at him, her lips moving slightly; Alaric could make out her saying, "Leave the door open for me tonight."

Finally, the Irish team left the box and circled the field on their brooms.

Thus, the thrilling Quidditch World Cup final came to an end, and Alaric walked down with the two girls.

Soon, the tide of people leaving the stadium and returning to the camp surrounded them.

As they walked back along the lantern-lit pathway, rough voices and laughter echoed through the night sky, with little goblins darting and weaving above them, waving lanterns and cackling.

Finally, they reached the tents, and the tired Hermione and Penelope immediately returned to their own rooms.

They could still hear strange songs and peculiar noises coming from the other side of the camp echoing in the night sky...

To avoid unsettling Cho Chang and Hermione, Alaric usually did not stay in the same room as Penelope.

Alaric remembered Cho Chang's "code," and he guessed that there would be a victory celebration within the Irish team after winning the cup, so Cho Chang would probably be a little late.

So, he sat by the campfire outside the tent door and picked up a book to pass the time.

About an hour later, he heard footsteps and voices. Looking up, he saw Cho Chang stumbling towards him with the help of the Irish Chaser Mullet.

"Cho is so happy today, she drank a lot at the party," the witch said, "She has a poor tolerance for alcohol, and she kept insisting on seeing you.

Mr. Bagman let me bring her here, so I'm handing her over to you, Alaric. Our party isn't over yet."

Since Alaric had visited the Irish team frequently before, all the members of the Irish team knew him.

"I'll take care of her." Alaric nodded and took the tipsy Cho Chang into his arms.

After delivering Cho Chang to her place, the witch went back to continue enjoying their party.

"Hehehe," Cho Chang, who was full of alcohol, obediently nestled in Alaric's arms, took a deep breath, and coquettishly said, "It's most... most comfortable here. Today really tired me out."

"Is that so?" Alaric supported her and helped her into the tent, "You did great today."

"Right? Right?" Drunk Cho Chang began to boast, "I think I played well too. My opponent was so... so silly. He (uh) actually wanted to trick... trick me (uh), am I... am I the genius beauty Cho Chang, such an easy target?"

She could actually call herself a genius beauty, it seemed that people's character would change when they were drunk.

"Yeah, you're the genius beauty Cho Chang. How could someone like Krum be your opponent?" Alaric rubbed her hair and comforted her.

"When the award was just given out, I noticed Krum shivering when he saw you."

"I... I like hearing that. Re... reward you with a kiss—" Cho Chang giggled and gave Alaric a drunken kiss, then continued to praise herself.

"That fool... fool, I used a little trick... trick and made him fall twice... twice (uh), am I... am I very clever?"

"Yeah, yeah, little Cho is the cleverest." Alaric helped Cho Chang lie down on the bed, hesitated for a moment, took off her coat and shoes, pulled the blanket over her.

However, just as he was about to fetch a glass of water, Cho Chang climbed out of bed and clung to him again.

"Wuwuwu, don't leave!" Cho Chang hugged Alaric's waist, resting her head against his back, "I want you to... to talk to me."

"Um, I'm going to get you some water," Alaric helplessly held her hand, trying to get her to let go, "I'll be right back."

"No... no!" Cho Chang seemed a bit childish at this moment, "I won the cham... championship today, so (uh), you have to listen to me."

"Alright, today you're the princess," Alaric really had no choice but to sit on the edge of the bed, "I'll listen to everything you say."

He summoned hot water, cups, and towels with the Summoning Charm.

Then, he fed her a glass of water, gently wiped her face, neck, and ears. He took her small hand and gently wiped it clean.

"Hehehe, you're so good to me," feeling much better all over, Cho Chang relaxed completely and slumped into his arms, "Why are you so nice to me?"

"Because Cho is cute," Alaric casually said, wiping her thighs as well, yeah, they were so fair and tender—he absolutely had no ulterior motives.

"Wuwuwu, so comfortable." Cho curled up comfortably, looked at Alaric with a dazed smile, "I knew you liked me, I also... also knew, I, I like Alaric the most."
