Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: The Skyraider

Umbridge had no choice but to shut her mouth in frustration.

Now she had to face the reality that from beginning to end, she had only made a fool of herself. But she still glared angrily at Alaric, plotting her revenge in her heart.

Finally, the onlookers, wizards, and staff began to disperse.

The old wizard, before leaving, rambled on to Alaric, expressing his hope that he would work for the Ministry of Magic after graduation, then changed his tune, saying that working for the Ministry was a waste of his talent...

Watching Alaric confidently standing there, Umbridge angrily took a deep breath. "Continue the inspection."

The Auror in charge of inspection couldn't help but tremble. Just a small bell had caused such an accident; who knew what would happen next.

Under Umbridge's gaze, the Auror reluctantly reached into the dragonhide pouch again. After a while, he pulled out a broomstick with a golden footrest and elaborate patterns.

It was Alaric's Skyraider.

"What's this, a broomstick?"

Umbridge carefully examined the Skyraider and let out an unpleasant laugh. "It's a model I haven't seen on the market."

"Oh, that's one I made myself," Alaric explained casually.

"Made it yourself?" Umbridge seemed excited, as if she had caught something.

"So it's a privately made and unregistered broomstick for sale! Yes, that's it, write it down! Auror, seize this broomstick immediately."

Then she turned to Alaric and emphasized with a righteous tone.

"We now suspect you of privately making and selling unregistered broomsticks, so they must be confiscated temporarily.

They'll be returned to you only after the trial ends and it's confirmed that you're not suspected of selling broomsticks. This is for..."

"Fine, if you're confident you can keep it safe," Alaric impatiently interrupted Umbridge's official tone.

"Are you underestimating the Ministry of Magic?" Umbridge huffed, signaling the Auror to take away the Skyraider. She still had more inspections to do.

So, Auror took the broomstick in his hand, turning around, preparing to leave.

However, the moment he picked up the broomstick, he suddenly had a foreboding feeling.

The broomstick suddenly became scorching hot in his hand, the high temperature causing blisters to form on his hand. He cried out, trying to let go.

Everyone was drawn to his sudden scream, looking in his direction.

It was already too late.

In that instant, Skyraider emitted a dazzling golden light.

Only Alaric managed to turn away in time.

The glaring and scorching light instantly blinded everyone.

Aurors frantically covered their swollen eyes, tears streaming down incessantly. It was as if they were enduring the explosion of several flashbangs simultaneously.

Then, the Auror holding Skyraider began to scream in agony.

Bright flames ignited on his arm, almost instantly turning it into charred remains.

The flames spread upward along his arm, quickly engulfing him in a torch.

Despite someone extinguishing him in time, the Auror was left as nothing but charred remains on the brink of death.

But it wasn't over yet. Skyraider started flying around, anyone it touched became tainted with its super-high temperature flames.

Everyone began to cast Aguamenti spells on each other, but it was of little use—the temperature of the flames was too high, and in the scarcity of water, it only filled the area with steam.

Soon, the place turned into a sea of fire, even the floors and walls were melting in the super-high temperature flames.

The flames spread everywhere, but in front of Alaric, it parted like Moses parting the sea, not daring to approach.

Desperate Aurors screamed loudly, fleeing in all directions, trying to escape the sea of fire.

In the chaos, the short, fat, clumsy Umbridge was knocked down twice by running Aurors and trampled several times in the panic.

Gradually, the entire hall was engulfed in the sea of fire, even the fountain, signs, and everything else were ignited.

Umbridge, who had finally found some fear, had her clothes caught on fire.

She screamed as she ran through the hall, diving into the fountain like a depth charge, hoping to alleviate the burning sensation a little.

But then, the fire spread near the hot spring.

The statues in the hot spring were completely melted by the high temperature, and the golden water flowed into the pool, stirring up a white mist.

The pool boiled instantly, a short, fat figure emerging from the white mist, screaming in agony as it ran away.

As the water in the pool evaporated completely, the entire hall was completely covered by the white mist, and everywhere in the mist were yellow flames, gradually burning down the hall entirely.

When the entire hall was burnt to ashes, the Ministry of Magic's reinforcements arrived too late.

Aurors and other Ministry employees worked in groups of three to cast Aguamenti spells on the ignited areas.

While someone specifically used the Evanesco spell to blow away the steam, maintaining visibility.

Fortunately, the hall was almost burnt to the ground by now, with only a few places still burning.

Most of the people present at the time saw the danger and fled the hall in time, with only the closest few dozen Aurors injured.

Most of these Aurors were burned or had large areas of their skin burned, with a few having their hands or feet burnt off, or their whole body turned into a mass of black charcoal.

But luckily, due to the high temperature of the flames, causing rapid carbonization of the surface skin of the injured, the deeper internal organs were not burned.

Although they were nearly cooked, under magical protection, these seriously injured people still had a chance to survive.

Presumably, in St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, these people still had a chance for recovery.

Umbridge herself was a bit luckier.

She wasn't directly burned by the flames, but she was scalded all over by the boiling water in the pool.

Now her skin was ulcerated and blistered all over, making her look more like a toad.

Looking at the completely unrecognizable hall before them, all the Aurors showed a look of being at their wit's end.

At this moment, everyone's gaze toward Alaric was filled with dread and horror, fearing that Alaric might bring out some terrifying magical item to destroy everything here.

And Alaric's Skyraider was closely monitored by three Aurors.

Although it was lying quietly on the ground at the moment, the three Aurors still stood far away, holding their wands, nervously watching it, afraid that it might suddenly go wild again.
