After regaining consciousness, I observed my surroundings, the sun still high in the sky. Assessing my condition, I found my missing hand replaced, the bleeding now ceased. A bell-like sound echoed, and a notification appeared – I had defeated a level 32 wind wolf.
Ding! You level up!
Level 17 reached.
I acquired new skills from devouring the wind wolf: Wind Step, Wind Blade, Minor Wind Affinity, and Wind Magic Level 2. Then came an unexpected choice – to change my species to a wind wolf. Despite my confusion, I opted for it as a notification hinted at my vulnerability.
Ding! Rating: You are as strong as an ant here.
Realizing my weakness, I accepted the transformation. The process brought pain throughout my body, but I endured in silence to avoid attracting powerful monsters. When the pain subsided, I discovered my arm transformed into a wolf's paw.
Walking towards a river to see my reflection, I confirmed my change – I was now a wind wolf. The system panel displayed my new attributes:
Species: Wind Wolf
Strength: 30
Agility: 44
Dexterity (Dex): 27
Mana: 22/22
Health: 25/25
Skills: Wind Blade, Wind Step, Minor Wind Affinity
Magic: Wind Magic Level 2
Unique Skill: Devour
Rating: Still as weak as an ant.
Though the reality was bitter, I accepted my transformation, understanding that my journey in this unfamiliar world had just begun
Adjusting to my newfound wolf form, I ventured into the forest in search of sustenance. Towering trees surrounded me, and I sensed formidable beings nearby. Realizing the ineffectiveness of my goblin teeth, I attributed that it was because of my devover skill that I was able to tear the wolf fur.
As I traversed, I encountered a massive spider, lurking within a tree trunk large enough to accommodate me. Hunger outweighed my disgust as a former human, and I activated Wind Step to swiftly approach it. My inexperience caused a crash, drawing the spider's attention.
The forest echoed with the hum of anticipation as the colossal spider turned its predatory gaze towards me.
Attempting a Wind Blade attack, I discovered its invincible web. Caught in the spider's web, my heart raced as I strategized, and I bit down on the silk, surprising the creature. Momentarily stunned, the spider provided me with the opportunity to regain control over Wind Step.
The dance of the wind intensified as I skillfully dodged the spider's attempts to ensnare me again.
Seizing the moment, I unleashed Wind Blade once more, cutting through the sticky threads. The spider, now visibly injured, retaliated fiercely.
The forest became a battleground of elemental forces – the wind howling and the spider weaving its magic-infused webs.
With a burst of agility, I lunged forward, evading the spider's retaliatory strike, and sunk my teeth into its upper body.
The taste of victory mingled with bitterness as I devoured the spider whole.
Ding! You have killed a Forest Spider Lv50.
Level 31 reached.
Strength: 70
Agility: 80
Dexterity (Dex): 57
Mana: 91/91

Devouring the spider granted new skills: Steel Web and Magic Web. I received an offer to change my species to a forest spider but declined, preferring my wolf form. As night approached, I felt a powerful presence, especially in the east. Opting to rest in a tree trunk despite its web-filled state, I settled down for the night.
