Chereads / World Tree Online: Origin / Chapter 3 - Remain Believers

Chapter 3 - Remain Believers

Eve contemplated for a substantial amount of time yet failed to discover the reason why he made contact with the Internet world in his previous life.

While pondering the circumstances in which he perished in his previous existence, some hypotheses formed within his mind.

He recalled his final moments of existence when he was in a game cabin, happily playing a game. Yet, he ultimately perished after several sleepless nights.

It hits him that the final piece of news matches his exact situation, it seems like it's talking about him.

[Hypothetical Realistic] is an innovative networking technology developed in recent years on Earth that links up a person's consciousness with a network.

By scrutinizing the association between his consciousness and the network, Eve suspected that it was the cause of his connection with the online world.

Apart from that, while scrutinizing the pace of time between these two regions, Eve found that the time in Sega Continent is a whopping 4 times quicker than that of Earth's.

What would this be considered as?

After having passed this barrier, can he still initiate communication with his hometown?

While contemplating this reality, Eve didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

He had made a decision to welcome a new life, leaving his worries and memories behind.

To be able to accomplish this, Eve was uncertain as to how. However, something inside of him told him to not give up on the matter.

This desire is perplexing, as sometimes it is completely shattered, but sometimes it also grants hope.

"I just left all of a sudden, leaving my parents and younger sister heart-broken... I didn't anticipate that they'd be really devastated..." Eve sighed deeply.

In consideration, as he is now an inhabitant of the Sega Continent, whose body was cremated into residue from his previous life, would he reap any benefit if he creates a link toward Earth's digital world?

He attempted this action; his Divine Power only takes effect in the digital world, while it's powerless toward the reality beyond, including Earth.

Even if he manifests his consciousness at Earth, the information he transmits may not be accessible.

In addition, if he transfers his consciousness to the other side of the Internet world, the energy consumption will exponentially increase.

With this train of thought, Eve deduces that this act would require at least thousands of Divine Power value!

After becoming a true God, his soul has been turned into a divine one, yet the lack of Divine Power renders him insufficiently supported.

It seems the digital world fails to consume his consciousness, not even by a slight margin.

Merging with the World Tree gave Eve a renewed life and remarkable capabilities, but it also transformed into a prison.

"Maybe... Once I gain more Divine Power, will I still be able to return back to my previous life on Earth?"

Eve voiced this thought, only to immediately compose himself.

However, he quickly realizes that the thought of returning to his previous existence on Earth is impossible yet.

That's too far.

With the capability to splurge tens of thousands of Divine Power worth, at minimum, Decent or higher Divine Power, he has now become a Weak Divine Power scum! Considering his frail condition, this situation is dire.

------------------

Weak Divine Power, Little Divine Power, Decent Divine Power, Substantial Divine Power, Incredible Divine Power...

-----------------

In this moment, Eve's mind is clearly determined on one long-term goal for the future.

It is to increase his potency and attain veracious freedom!

Having considered this, Eve mercilessly left the vicinity of the blue light group and proceeded toward the three brilliant green photons.

Discarding that Berserker, he carefully examined the two remaining photons.

Suddenly, that mystical, adaptable, tender, and godly prayer sound came again...

This time, Eve finally detected the origin of the sound, which was among the most luminous lights of those two light orbs!

Hesitating briefly, Eve probes his consciousness into...

Along with the odd sensation of losing his weight, Eve perceives that his field of vision is constantly improving, while the surrounding space is becoming illusory.

He swiftly withdraws from the divine space and perceives himself getting pulled in a different direction...

Panicking for a second, Eve arrives at a Divine Palace.

The Divine Palace is fashioned out of vine branches and antiquated wood.

The sculptures are beautifully designed with intricate patterns, emitting a sense of divinity yet giving off a quite tarnished and antique vibe.

The nucleus of the Divine Palace is an obsolete altar. The inexplicable magical mark has been heavily damaged owing to severed silver heads.

Located on the altar are a statue of a skull and an Elf statue in a dilapidated condition.

Upon seeing the mysterious surroundings, Eve was stunned for a second before being struck with an unusual feeling.

He immediately started scanning his surroundings and was completely taken aback. This place, the Divine Palace, is actually located upon the World Tree, and Eve had not previously discovered it.

Eve speculates if this is a dimly lit region that has evaded his observation.

As he voices out a silent question, Eve concentrates on the ancient altar in front of him.

In the close proximity of the altar, there stands a man and a woman — both of them are Elves.

The man is quite old, having white hair and beard. He holds a cane as his body is laden with the weight of age and decay; his eyes overflow with sorrow and anguish.

Eve's scrutiny swiftly passes him, focusing, instead, on the Elven woman in front of him.

The Elf girl was a lovely sight to behold.

She appears to be sixteen or seventeen years of age, holding a fan-shaped medallion in her hands while kneeling and sitting on the ground.

She gently lowers her head, closes her eyes and whispers a prayer.

The girl exhibits all the qualities of an Elf, with longer ears, long neck, delicate and perfect facial features, white and smooth skin like the first snowflakes of winter, as well as golden silk-like long hair like a waterfall flowing straight down to the ground.

The sacred dress adorning her body is truly remarkable, with beautiful six-tone designs, golden patterns, and vine embellishments, imparting a sense of splendor, elegance, and nobility.

The mere sight of the girl is enough to induce inferiority in others.

The voice that Eve heard praying was initially her own!

Upon observing the young Elf girl for a brief moment, information pertaining to her suddenly surfaced in Eve's mind.

Name: Alice · Blast

Race: Elf

Class: Natural Priestess

Lv: 23(Mid Black Iron)

Faith in the True God: Eve Yggdrasill (Faith Level: Devout Believer)

Title: Natural Saintess

...

People usually prefer beautiful things.

Upon spotting the only Devout Follower — a pure and beautiful Elf girl, half of the sorrow that filled Eve's heart vanished on the spot for a moment.

Regarding this other individual, there is a Male Peasant Believer.

The intelligence divulges his name — Samir Blast — who is a Level 30 Natural Priest and Druid.

Both of them have the Mid Black Iron Professions, with the senior Elf residing in 1 Rank away from the High Level of Black Iron.

Nothing surprising transpired — this was Eve's followers.

He nods from his heart bottom, accepting this conclusion.

Next is communicating with them, and then coming up with ways to augment their faith.

Eve meditates for a moment, planning to utilize a percentage of the Divine Power's value to communicate with them, but suddenly, the Elven girl ceased her prayers.

Eve witnessed her eyes gradually open up, revealing a lush emerald hue.

As she reached out to wipe the glistening tear on the corner of her eye, a faint tint of red suffused her nose, before she stood up with some difficulty.

Alice — having spoken with a hoarse and depressed tone — smiled forcefully.

"Grandpa Samir, my last prayer... It's concluded" she stated, having spent the last three days and three nights kneeling.

With her final shred of hope dissipating, Alice felt a sense of despair wash over her.

Upon glancing at Alice lost expression upon her face, the old Elf named Samir sighed.

As he concealed a pinch of sorrow in his eyes, the man strongly upheld his attitude of comfort:

"Sigh... This matter can no longer be resolved. No matter how determined we remain, no matter how patient we are, we will need to accept this reality" he stated, exuding a comforting attitude.

After saying this, the old Elf raised his head and peered at the empty idol resting above the altar.

As tears faintly flashed across his muddy eyes, Samir uttered:

"The Mother Goddess... is truly deceased..."

In the main hall, sporadic wails echoed from time to time.

Briefly afterward, the old Elf sighed:

"Let us depart from here..."

"After maintaining this defense for several years, we no longer need to stay in this place to persist" he said.

In Eve Core, World Tree Deity photon that represented their Believers progressively becoming gloomy, almost extinct.

Eve: "..."?

He was shocked by the revelation.

Due to his deep depression caused by this news, Eve was originally planning to utilize some miraculous acts to convert the Elven girl into a Fatanical, after which he would convert his Peasant Believer into a Devout Believer.

However, it seems that Eve did not expect to witness this scene as soon as he arrived.

Relax, relax, I just assumed the position of Deity, everything is challenging in the beginning, if everything fails, then I still have Berserker...

After soothing himself, Eve determined to withstand the agony, even if it required deploying his Divine Power in order to demonstrate his genuine presence.

However, just as he was about to start the process, his heart was stirred up suddenly, causing Eve to suppress his initial intention for the time being.

Upon detecting something with his consciousness while searching in multiple directions, Eve swiftly settled down.

He realized that the worth of his Divine Power is quite valuable.

At this moment, it appears that there might be a superior, more worthwhile, and more deceitful strategy...
