Chereads / The Strongest Dark Lord / Chapter 275 - Umbridge Has Ulterior Motives

Chapter 275 - Umbridge Has Ulterior Motives

"Good morning! Harry!"

Mrs. Weasley saw Harry standing at the door of the dining room.

She was a bit busy at the moment, because she not only had to use magic to direct the spatula to cook, but also had to endure the nagging of her husband beside her.

While Sirius sat alone, looking unhappy.

Harry asked anxiously: "How can I get to the Ministry of Magic later?"

"Oh dear, Arthur will take you with him when he goes to work."

"That's right, then you can stay in my office and wait until the trial time arrives." Arthur Weasley said enthusiastically.

"But wasn't it originally planned that Sirius would take me there?"

"However, Dumbledore thinks that Sirius' going to the Ministry of Magic could expose himself easily, even if he turns into a dog - there is still a lot of risk."

As soon as Arthur had finished explaining, Sirius went on to say: "Yes, his judgment is always correct."

Seeing his obviously resentful face, Harry didn't know what to say to comfort him, because even he thought that Dumbledore was right.

"When did Dumbledore say that? Is he back?"

Mr. Weasley nodded: "That's right, he didn't want to wake you up last night, maybe because he was afraid of disturbing your sleep."

Hearing what he said, Harry secretly blamed himself for sleeping too soundly last night.

"Okay, young man, after breakfast, go and change into the suit, we are ready to go."

London streets.

As an international metropolis, the streets are full of urban white-collar workers in a hurry.

But there was one individual who stood out with his weird behavior.

"Oh, is this a computer? How does it work?"

Looking into Mr. Weasley's curious eyes, Harry stood there very awkwardly.

He didn't know how the thing worked, even the Dursleys didn't have one.

"Mr. Weasley, it's bad if we're late, let's hurry up."

"Oh yes, yes, business matters!" Arthur suddenly realized, but it didn't take long for his eyes to be attracted by the ticket checking equipment of the subway again.

Seeing people looking at them all around, Harry hurriedly dragged him to the visitor's entrance designated by the Ministry of Magic.

"Oh~ I've never used the guest entrance, let me figure out how to use it.

"Put in Muggle money first, then enter 6..."

Seeing Mr. Weasley's clumsy operation, Harry asked curiously: "How do you usually go to work?"

"Through the floo, or if I'm in a hurry, I just apparate."

Well, Harry had to admit that it's really convenient to have magic.

With a burst of shaking, the phone booth gradually began to descend.

When they came to the atrium on the eighth floor of the basement of the Ministry of Magic, this time it was Harry's turn to behave like a country bumpkin, showing an appearance like someone who had never seen the world.

Harry looked at the resplendent hall and the ceiling gleaming with golden symbols.

Feeling it was worthy of the Ministry of Magic, it was much prettier than Hogwarts.

The sound of rising flames caught his attention.

Seeing people coming out of the fireplace on the left every few seconds, Harry hurriedly looked to the right again.

There was a group of people queuing to leave the fireplace.

"There are so many wizards here!"

Looking at the endless stream of wizards, he felt that there were as many people here as there were Muggles walking outside.

"Come on, let me introduce you to the Ministry of Magic, but before that, we need to go to the security checkpoint at the end to register the wand."

The two walked along the shiny dark wooden floor to the Fountain of Magical Brethren.

Harry looked curiously at the odd combination of two wizards, a centaur, a goblin and a house-elf.

But before he could ask what the fountain represented, Mr Weasley pulled him towards the row of golden doors at the end.

After going through some complicated procedures, the two finally boarded the Ministry of Magic elevator.

"Mr. Weasley, what are these paper airplanes?"

Saw Harry pointing at the paper airplanes flying overhead.

Arthur explained with a smile: "These are the notes from the Ministry of Magic. They were originally delivered with owls, but after a long time people found it very unhygienic. Everyone was tired of cleaning owl droppings on their desks.

The elevator stops for a moment on each floor.

At the same time, there is a nice female voice in the elevator introducing the departments on each floor.

Bang!

"The second level, the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, includes the Misuse of Magic Office, Auror Office and the Wizengamot Governing Body."

The pleasant female voice sounded again and Mr Weasley motioned for Harry to follow him.

The two came together to a crowded and messy large office.

Looking at the pile of documents, Harry suddenly lost interest in working at the Ministry.

"It's a little crowded, you need to find a place to sit down first, there is still an hour before nine o'clock, don't worry, you will be fine."

Harry found what could be called a seat and sat down, but before his butt was hot, an old wizard rushed over.

"Arthur, listen to me..."

"I already knew about the backflush of toilet sewage."

"It's not about the toilet, it's about Harry Potter, I have come to inform him that his trial has been brought forward to eight o'clock, in the old Tenth Courtroom."

"What?" Arthur stood up in surprise.

"It's too bad, why didn't they come earlier... Oh, it's still five minutes away, Harry, come with me!"

The two hurried to the tenth floor underground, and encouraged by Mr. Weasley's eyes, Harry stepped inside.

At this moment, the courtroom was full of people.

On the high platform directly in front sat three wizards in black robes.

The leading witch had a pale toad-like face, and to her left was the newly appointed Minister of Magic, Pius Thicknesse.

And to her right was a witch with a monocle.

"You're late Harry Potter."

"Sorry, I just got the notification."

"That's your own reason. In fact, we sent an owl to deliver a letter to you early this morning. Now please sit in your seat."

The voice of the Toad Witch was making him feel uncomfortable. It was as if she was talking through a chokehold as she forced her clearly fake girly voice to pass through.

Carefully sitting on the chair, Harry had time to look around.

A group of people in plum colored robes sat on either side of the courtroom. They all had serious faces, and they all wore a silver W badge on their chests.

Harry counted roughly, and there were about fifty of these people.

"Harry Potter, are you ready?"

"I'm ready!"

"Very well, the trial on August 12th of Harry, who lives in 4th Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey, for committing an infringement against the Reasonable Restraints of Minors Act and the International Statute of Secrecy."

"Interrogators: Dolores Jane Umbridge, Senior Undersecretary; Pius Thicknesse, Minister of Magic; Amelia Susan Bones, Director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement; Trial Recorder: Percy Ignatius Weasley."

Before Umbridge finished speaking, a loud voice came from the door of the courtroom.

"Witness for the Defense: Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore."

Harry turned his head sharply, only to see Dumbledore walking in with a calm face, with that usual twinkle in his eyes.

Seeing him there, Umbridge's face became very ugly, but the people who came next made her face turn completely livid.

"Witness for the defense: Lucas Albus Grindelwald."

Harry was very surprised that Lucas had also arrived. But what surprised him even more was his full name.

Albus? Isn't that Dumbledore's name?

Lucas frowned tightly, why the hell is it that a witness must give their full name?

Two quasi-legendary wizards came to testify for Harry, which immediately attracted discussions from the Wizengamot people.

Regarding the arrival of the two, someone in the Wizengamot frowned, with a look of disapproval.

While some people looked at the two worriedly or even in fear. And only a small number of people waved to welcome the two, such as Director Amelia.

"Has the Ministry of Magic changed the trial time without notifying the defense witnesses?"

"But you're still here, aren't you?" Umbridge almost had the words "You're not welcome" written on her face.

When Dumbledore looked at Madam Toadbridge, a cold light flashed in his eyes.

There are only a few people in the Ministry of Magic capable of mobilizing dementors.

With Fudge now dead, and knowing that Pius or Amelia obviously couldn't have done it.

The remaining Rufus Scrimgeour, again a very principled man, so it was clearly not him either.

Then there is only the Senior Undersecretary in front of them, Dolores Umbridge.

And he also got a message from Pius this morning. Umbridge actually took the initiative to ask to be the presiding judge, which is really strange.

Lucas didn't think as much as Dumbledore.

At least now he doesn't hate Umbridge too much, because the two don't conflict.

As for whether the horrid woman has sided with Voldemort. Lucas didn't intend to delve into it, no matter whether she works for Voldy now or in the future, it was only 400 achievement points in the end.

Lucas drew his wand and conjured two delicate chairs beside Harry.

"Headmaster, please sit down."

The two sat next to Harry, one on the left and the other on the right, which immediately created a sense of security for him.

Umbridge knocked the gavel angrily and said, "The accused, are you Harry Potter who lives at 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey?"

"Yes!" Harry replied with a nod.

The corners of Umbridge's mouth turned up, and she opened a piece of parchment and read: "The crimes committed by the accused are as follows: "
