Chapter 23:- Surroundings.

Brightened stone village that lay somewhere near a forest. The forest seemed extremely old. The trees were huge, and the forest floor, all overspread by that leafy green canopy, was devoid of the usual underbush, carpeted instead with lush green moss. It seemed to me an enchanted Forest.

And then the land opened up. What had been a forest became a kind of vale, a grassy basin dotted here and there with delightful grooves of trees verged with thickets of lush berry bushes. Centuries around deep, cold strings or water so clear that I could look down through ten feet of it at trout. The Nyorea village.

Right next to Nyorea village is Choram village, which is a strange place on the top of a mountain that looks oddly artificial.

Ki village, fairly close to the central. They were quite large, though their habit of using logs for constructing wall and thatch for roofing made me just a little wary of entering those free-standing fire traps.

The Shet villagers were a strange people. Perhaps that pecularities are the results of the fact that there are many more women in their society than there were men. Their society is matrichal, which is unusual_

Ketan Central, the main division, tend to stick to the other five villages_ why not merge with them like their neighboring city, Deluxe City.

Large.....

Deluxe City citizens were much involved in arcane studies_ astrology, necromancy and the like. The Deluxes spend so much of their time trying to look into the future that they tend to lose sight of the present. The only good part of it was that they were so fuzzy-headed that they didn't pose a threat to anybody else.

Tupal City,a city of builders, and they work in terms of stone and mortar and what your materials actually will let you get away with.

Aweco City,of course, were an entirely different matter. They're so noisy, belligerent people who'll fight at the drop of a hat. Fortunately for the sake of world peace, the Awacos spent most of their time fighting each other rather than doing war on other cities.

Qasa City,a city which look more like a military camp, far northwest coast_ up near the City of Luking. This city was where the revolt against the blacksmith God took place.

[The blacksmith God story appear in Chapter Six of this book_ sorry for the drawback]

Luking City, the city of commerce. The Lukings fascination with money hadn't diminished in the nine years before the arrival of the blacksmith God.

If anything, they'd grown even more acquisitive, and they seemed to spend a great deal of time building roads. They were generally peaceful, however, since war's bad for business.
